November 14, 200520 yr I've really started wondering if people read what they write when they make a post on a forum. I've heard this idea many times: The cop should only use the taser if he was in imminent danger. He should use pepper spray otherwise. 1) Imminent danger? That sounds like a great idea. Wait for the woman to pull a gun out on you...a taser is REALLY going to help then. 2) Have any of you ever seen someone pepper sprayed? Why are you all under the impression that when you get pepper sprayed you will not be screaming like the woman did? Especially police issued pepper spray. Its not pretty and you would be complaining just as much. Unless of course you also believe pepper spray should only be used if the woman has alreay pulled out a gun on you. That makes sense. A 22 year old woman talking on her cell phone is not a threat. 1) The cop had no way of knowing if the cell phone was just a distraction until she could pull out a gun. 2) Read below: Two 8-year-old boys and an 11-year-old schoolmate were arrested after they buried a loaded handgun in a playground sandbox and plotted to shoot and stab a third-grade girl during recess, authorities said Thursday. They don't seem to be your run-of-the-mill suspects do they? A 21-year-old woman was charged with murder Monday in the death of her newborn daughter whose corpse was found in a suitcase in her bathroom. 21-year-old woman? Oh, maybe when you turn 22 you become someone who obviously would never be dangerous. A 21-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a four-month-old baby boy who died in a house fire on Sunday, police said today. I guess the taser would have been a good idea here after she started the fire. Not before though. She should never be tasered until she proves she is dangerous. Hamas' first female bomb maker is a 22-year-old university graduate who was recruited in Gaza and sent to the West Bank to teach others to assemble explosives, Israeli security officials say, noting a sharp rise in the use of women by militant groups in the past two years. She's not white though...are they being racist? A 22-year-old woman arrested for possession of controlled drugs was bailed pending further enquiries. Why wouldn't she get out of the car? Maybe she was hiding something...how would the police officer have known? Have I made my point clear? How would you all be reacting if she had pulled a gun out on the cop and blown his head off? Would you have sympathized with her then? How could the cop been sure that someone not cooperating with him ISN'T going to blow his head off? Obviously the cop thought tasering would be fun - nothing like getting sued by an unhappy person and potentially being discharged to add some fun into your life. He OBVIOUSLY did this for entertainment - not protection.
November 14, 200520 yr Lol what a complete idiot, he could have used his baton or the pepper spray at the most. What's an unarmed 22 year old woman gonna do to him? Pull out a weapon and attack him. About 5 years ago, a 15 year old girl in Alabama killed a police officer who pulled her over for speeding. When asked why, she claimed that she was afraid she would get in trouble for not being old enough to drive. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley
November 14, 200520 yr The first time, I think, was about 90% justified. The second time was very un-neccessary indeed. And no lol why do you always want to get stuff from John Lewis. Its over ̣̉300 more then than what i paid. John Lewis is a great, great shop.
November 14, 200520 yr No im not saying that all police officers should be tasered before they can use one. Why not? Whether the use was justified in this particular instance or not, surely experiencing the use of the weapons allows an officer to appraise the degree of force at his disposal, as well as the effects on a suspect? If I had tazed someone once and I still thought they might be a threat, I'd probably taze them again myself even if some manual claimed the first one was enough. Personal experience as a method of learning older than the written or spoken language. And if it's so safe and non-lethal and harmless as people say, tazing a train̮̩̉̉e under controled medical conditions can hardly harm their health. Most officers have been tasered so that they know what they are doing when they use the thing. Infact, the officer using the taser in the video admits that he himself has been tasered in the past. I know the price. I pay it gladly.
November 14, 200520 yr Damn. That was sickening to hear...yeah, a person screaming really messes with you, especially that loud. Well, it was her own fault. She directly disobeyed an order coming from someone of authority and then apparently "took a swing at him." im not too sure about that part, i really couldnt see. Sure, the first time was okay, that should have drove his order home. The second time was just bad, she was already writhing on the floor in agony. They both were wrong. She, for disobeying a direct order and ignoring multiple wanings, He for tasing an already tased woman... ...
November 14, 200520 yr Son_Of_Judas, you don't have freedom of speech here, this is a private forum. The staff members are perfectly within their rights to censor, delete, edit or do whatever they please with what you might want to say. There was a sticky about this on Scapeboard, but we lost it with the database ages ago :( I should also point out that the internet is not publicly owned. *waits for someone to challenge his statment* I like yer style  This is the last time I'm going to mention this, you really should post in a different color. I cannot read your text all on the sub_black theme. There are many users who use this theme also. If you'd like your posts ignore then carry on, I'm just trying to help you out.

November 15, 200520 yr Its good to see that the police aren't just using uneccessary force on young poor black men... they've moved up to rich black females! Good for them! LMAO!!! First: Dunno why the cop reacted that way. I'm really sure a healthy and trained man should be able to get a woman out of her car without using sadistic material like that taser! I'm a trained military and I'm really aware that being trained to fight is a huge advantage compared to civilians. Second: I didn't even know tasers are allowed to be used in US. Here in Belgium cops only have cuffs (duh), a gun (more duh), a stick and some pepperspray in a low concentration. I've never heard a cop torturing someone in that way, so it's asking for trouble to give cops such material. A taser isn't meant to overpower someone, it's a device to inflict serious pain and damage to the human tissue! I absolutely disagree giving that stuff to over-agressive people like that piece of **** (fill in what you think is appropriate) Third: The circumstances didn't allow the usage of it. He was only a meter away from her so he should have been able to watch her hands closely. Since she was calling one hand was busy holding the phone so that's a hand that's harmless. I always thought violence is only justified when someone inflicts damage to you or someone else. Selfdefence? :? Forth: i'm probably one of the people first in line to dislike cops. I know many of them are just redneck monkeys (not only in US but even here in Belgium  ) and I've had my share of problems with frustrated policemen without having done anything wrong. This just proves again how cops can enjoy power. I thought cops were the first to set an example, to show how things should be done! Molesting harmless women isn't one of their tasks! haha....you idiot. Why are you calling me an idiot? Is it wrong to have an own opinion nowadays??? Freedom of speech remember, one of the basic human rights... Amnesty International: Freedom of expression is one of the most fundamental rights that individuals enjoy. It is fundamental to the existence of democracy and the respect of human dignity. It is also one of the most dangerous rights, because freedom of expression means the freedom to express one's discontent with the status quo and the desire to change it. As such, it is one of the most threatened rights, with governments - and even human rights groups - all over the world constantly trying to curtail it. If it is your opinion....then yes. Ghost: I am prejudice towards ignorance, so that would explain why I appear to be so.
