The USA gets nerfed to 2 Trillion, Japan gets nerfed to 2 Trillion.

Retech, if you want to take Canada then you get Canada's IAG and you play normally. Not 'Oh I have sacrificed by wonderful country so I should get rewards of Canada plus a bunch of other countries.' As Dusty would say, if you want to screw yourself, go ahead.

 

New rule on Annexing....If you annex somewhere your new collective-country take a 50% Infrastructure hit. So if America was to annex Canada and Mexico, in the same ten year period, then the infrastructure of America, Canada and Mexico would be set to 0.

Which would mean that the IAG of the new country would be whatever America+Canada+Mexico's IAG is *0. Which is obvouisly 0.

That should balance out people going on annexfests.

 

If you are really good at roleplaying then you can reduce this to 10% by creating a convincing cover story for why your countries have merged. This takes 20+ years(Depending on how awesome your story is) and is free, though.

 

If you want to conquer somewhere the old rules apply, ie, you go in and blow their stuff up and have your stuff blown up. Potentially wiping out both countries Infrastructure, or doing relatively little damage and so only losing 0.01 or something.

Meaning that, creatively, it is probably a combination...Because the fact is that there are only 46,656 ways to use your throat . Meaning that there are only 46,656 possible sounds, most of which are repeats. Added to clicking and other, non Larynx type, ways of speaking, while still making a sound, we are probably looking at, at the highest reasonably expected, at 40,000 different sounds.

Given that 100 Billion people have been alive, the odds are that more than one person 'Hey, you know what sound would be good?'....In fact the odds are 1 to 2,500,000. So, effectively, 2,500,000 people could have originated the sound. Subtracting for the people alive today and all that jazz probably leaves about 1 to 25....Assuming that 1 lived in Scandinavia and 1 lived in Roma and the other 23 died before they could share their revelation about the amazing sound they could make...then it is not unreasonable to assume that more than 1 culture came up with the sound.

Now assume that it was someone in Scandinavia and someone in Saxony...Now can we move on from this?

I was only noting that if we made the USA a shadow country, I should get its territory, since it would have no relevance to the game, and I would essentially be blocked from winning North America, because it would be an invincible shadow country. The random other countries, I was going to annex anyways, before this system came into being. Just like how Doom gained America in the first game, well at least the land.

 

Actually, I just realized something. I'll stay as the USA, and I will be annexing Canada (just Canada, revoking the other stuff). Here's my cover story (surmized):

 

With the total exile of the Republican party from the US Congress, and the quick shift of the government to a European style socialism, Canada and the United States seemed much more compatible. When the United States released itself from international obligations, the two seemed destined to become much closer. The two governments often had many flaws, but what probaly began the serious talks was that the United States government offered to ship its poor to Mexico, in order to provide the necessary services to its people, after the infrastructure is expected to deteriorate. The US government also offered to disband, to give the Canadian government the chance to rule the countries, once they were united.

 

Political talks were intense and ongoing, but they are expected to take quite a while. In the meantime, the current congress has been chosen to stay for the remainder of the talks, until it is resolved. The populaces of both countries seem generally supportive, except for the people that are to be deported.

Its permenant....So .5 would be half, then half, then half...ad infinitum....or until you spent 50% of your budget on improving it.

Kay. I was wondering if say I start annexing a country on the same day that the IAG is calculated, meaning I finish on the same day IAG is calculated. Could I pay 50% of the old IAG for infrastructure and ignore the penalty (since it would bring infrastructure back to 1), or would I have to pay 50% of my new budget, after my IAG was already penalized.

Sequence is your budget is worked out then you annex/fight places. So you would get the benefits 10 years down the line if you had it so you annexed directly before.

So essentially any penalties and benefits from the annexation will be calculated in the budget around 19 years from now? So if the next budget in around 9 years, I pay 50% for infrastructure, then the penalty doesn't count against me, but I still only stay with the US IAG for the next budget.

Fellow Kazakhians, I, your new leader, will take this glorious nation into a prosperous future. For too long, far too long, we have been oppressed, rejected, outright shunned by the world at large. Well not any more. From this day forth, we are no longer the puny nation of Kazakhstan, but the new strong nation of Kazakhia. This path will not be an easy one. We face threats from all sides.
