This is just a word of caution for everyone out there. Today I was going to Solo Rex, because I don't really enjoy the new skill very much. I figured it would be open on a new skill release, right? Well, after getting ready, going with a friend, I run down to do the same old pull Rex and eat through Supreme's hits. But this time is much different than others. Today when I clicked the ladder, My screen goes white and I get this sweet error. I do not remember what it said, but basically boils down to "You're Java has crashed, enjoy the free trip to Lumbridge."

 

I log back and, and I am in Falador, come to notice that my friend didn't get the crashing error, and was able to bless my grave (Do love the gravestone feature!)! I start running back to WB and notice that, why looky there! There is a SYSTEM UPDATE in about 9 Minutes from the time I finally log back in. Now my heart is racing and I'm starting to freak out wondering if I will make it. Tash calms me down saying we have lots of time. From here it's a mad dash to beat the clock or literally never see those items again.

 

Thankfully I made it and only lost 2 Sara Brews in the whole process. Not exactly the trip I was looking for, but I'll take it since I got out safe.

 

Just a warning to everyone: Java is killing today, and I heard others having the same issue, Maybe that's what the update was for?

Ye I have had the white screen of death a couple of times today. It's annoying to say the least.

Happened all the time for me..

 

Basically it are the little bugs the JVE stll has.... Just restarting your computer regularly helps often fixing the problem. (The bugs tend to happen with garbage collection)

what trojann is talking about is not a whitescreen problem, it is the same generic error message that is given when the game comes up against something... bad. it's the error encountered with the crash-character glitch, where you re-directed to another page.

 

i also got this error, while climbing the ladder to the trollheim herb patch.

Was trying to finish up my 99 summoning and got the error every 5 or so trips...was also tryin to do the summ game for triple charms..crashed me at 27 shards so i only got 18 minutes...completely ruined my plans for the day

They actually made a thread to compile information about all these in-game crashes. It's happened to me a few times too. Luckily, I wasn't in such a perilous situation..but if I had been....hoooo boy. :(

Idk if mine is related to the same 'error' but before update, while i was at sara gwd, i got disloggued (back to lobby and don't rememeber if i had to login again, but my screeen was lobby).

FTW we just had kille zyliana and drop was out. So, for a mater of seconds, i wasn't in difficult situation but it's scrary.

Friends have also figured it too a few times.

I've had white screen of death ever since I started playing RS HD on Win7. I run it in normal mode and it's fine.

Oh, so there is something going round. I've been logged out twice at random, requiring me to put my user and pass back in, and it works normally after that. I'm running RSHD on Windows 7 64-bit.

Now that I think about it, this was the first time I had ran in High Detail for quite some time. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

In one of the system updates, a Jmod said there were a 1/30 chance you'd get a game crash when wondering around the new demonhills place. Happened to me in Bh worlds several times. This is why I don't risk a bunch

Yeah im playing on safe mode and still crashing quite frequently so I don't think its affected by detail.

I dont get a white screen, but i do get a black screen when i do the dungeoneering. Only other time I get it is when I am at TD's. I posted this on RSOF a while ago, Mod told me it was probably an issue with ATI cards. So, whenever you go to an area where you glitch, try out safe mode, works for me.

Anyone else with this problem? Please try to remember settings and places where you were so we can possibly get to the bottom of this. Since it seems Jagex doesn't want to try and help.

I have that problem when I try to logg in to my inbox or to the RSOF from either Firefox or IE. I then have to close all windows, clean cache and try again, still I can't get in sometimes. Annoying as heck. I even updated my Java eventhough it is perfectly good! I never experience this using the game client though, and I play on HD-resizeable. From what do you play runescape?
