Dungeoneering Guide and Skills- Updates and Corrections

I found another room. In this one, there aren't any enemies, but there is a Fremmenik squire. Speak to him, and he will tell you that you need to make some things for a base he's making. I don't know for sure if it changes every time, but I had to fletch some bows, cook some fish, and smith some battle axes. If you don't have the tools necessary (knife and or hammer) the squire will provide them. All you need to do to perform these tasks is click on the crates with the label of the action on them, no inventory space is necessary.

And by the way, I posted about the mining puzzle room a while ago, with good .PNG format image.

Here's something I stumbled upon that doesn't appear to be in the guide:

rsdungrocks.png

Basically, you just mine through the rocks to get to the other doors. The big rocks disappear forever, but the smaller rocks will reappear and fall within seconds after you mine them. The re-spawning of the rocks can be prevented by repairing both of the collapsing struts on either side of the small pathways with a hammer. If one of the rocks falls on to you, you lose a good chunk of your life points.

Some more info you could add to the CRITICAL NOTE beneath prestige as this could be very useful:

If your previous progress is higher than your current progress and you reset, current progress (lower value) would be saved.

Example: Your previous progress is 30, you partied with random people 10 floors (10 prestige/progress) and suddenly your friends log on, all reset. If you reset now to be able to party with them, your previous progress will change to 10!

I found this bit of information very useful myself, hopefully others will too!

I believe all familiars last exactly three times as long as stated in the runescape KB. it fits with all collected date so far.

Confirmed times so far:

Brah skinweaver(6) - 30 minutes

Brave skinweaver(5) - 30 minutes

Sachem Stormbringer(10) - 45 Minutes

Naabe Worldbearer(7) - 60 minutes

sachem worldbearer(10) - 60 minutes

Keen worldbearer(4) - 60 minutes

Brave woldbearer(5) - 60 minutes

brah worldbearer(6) - 60 minutes

naabe worldbearer(7) - 60 minutes

adept worldbearer(9) -60 minutes

little worldbearer(2) - 60 minutes

sachem bloodrager(10) - 45 minutes

cub stormbringer(1) - 45 minutes

adept hoardstalker(9) - 60 minutes

adept deathslinger(9) - 45 minutes

Number of shards required for Naabe Bloodrager pouch is 86 instead of 76 as listed on the guide presently:

EDIT: Thanks! Fixed and credited! ~ Vulxai

"Bulwark Beast - Has a shield that can be destroyed by a pickaxe, then is easily killed with a normal weapon."

It can also be directly killed with magical attacks

"Rammernaut - Use magic against the Rammernaut, who wears armour and has a high melee/ranged defence. He uses melee and can knock you away from him and stun you where you landed."

IF you use overhead prayers, he'll knock you away so piety/chivalry is advised

"Sagittare - A ranger who uses the spell protect from ranged. He teleports around a circles maze room when approached; which is why it's wise to use mage, even though he's wearing leather. He uses ranged and magic attack which will also freeze you and disable running."

When you attack him, use protect from magic. When he teleports to the centre, use protect from magic and mystic might (15% magic prayer) so increase your resistance to magic so that he'll find it hard to bind/injure you

Any crush would do, but the pickaxe might be a bit more effective (not sure). Best to pray magic against him.

Soo I have actually all ready had a barbarian puzzle room picture done, but for whatever reason, I forgot to add it to the guide... So thank you very much for your picture, but I had one already :wall: .

Good news is, I'll be using your mining puzzle picture. I have to edit it then add it to the guide and you will be credited, thank you!

Boss monsters update

Icy Bones

Description as it appears on the site : Icy bones uses a melee attack. Melee prayer does NOT completely protect you! It has a special ranged attack which looks like icicles appearing from the ground, which players cannot escape. He is weak to stab.

The special melee attack CAN be avoided by running around but never retracing your steps. Wach out for the shape change that indicates this special attack is starting and run the hell around untill it stops. No damage taken this way.

The nature staff costs 12.5k, not 12k

~The reward trader says 12k, but once you click it, it mentions 12.5k, and it also does buy for 12.5k, not 12k.

( I already had it changed in the items list )

cheers

[hide=Post]Here is some info on some bosses that would provide help killing them:

Astea Frostweb:

Using ranged and magic is suggested (specially if you solo) as she freezes you often.

Icy Bones:

If you are in a group it's suggested to take turns attacking him in solo. He uses massive damaging area attacks that might quickly wipe your group. To avoid death, leave a gatestone outside and teleport to it once you're low on health.

Plane-freezer Lakhrahnaz:

You should be either ranging or maging it. If you wish to melee it, try to be in a spot in which he can't push you too far (eg: between him and door tiles or pillars)

ToKash the Bloodchiller:

When he freezes the group, the first player to get unfrozen by his attacks should quickly run to other players and click on their ice blocks to unfreeze them. Suggested to stay together when fighting it. [You won't believe how many people miss this, lol]

That's as much as my current progress can help! If credited, please use the name "Profins", not "Federalais2" :)

Edit: Here is more info on other matters:

Base Experience/Floor Experience:

It is affected by time taken to finish the floor. Jagex have set a time they think it would take to finish the floor and any more or less time taken will affect the floor xp accordingly.

[Confirmed by Jagex]

4. The base XP is based on what floor you completed, but then adjusted based on how long we expect that particular dungeon to be completed in. If you complete it faster than this, then you'll get faster XP than the dungeon thought you would. If you take longer, then your XP per hour will be slower.
[/hide]

Since it's almost all within tabs, is any of that going on the site? :P The Icy Bones part is pretty much very important, since on bigger parties if you all go in to him, there IS a very high chance you'll all die, save for the last person. ;p

Profins.png

specty.png

The tabs mean it's been added to the guide / bestiary, will be added in the future or won't be used. It's just makes it easier for crew to see whats been done and what needs to be done.

For the Bulwark Beast it would be helpful if you could add that to destroy its shield with a pickaxe you must be able to wield the pickaxe you plan on using.

I ran into a door called a "Liquid Lock Door".

The only option you get is add-compound, but when I try this it says "you are unable to unlock this door".

Up to now I haven't figured out what to do with it or to it. It might be members-only, but I am F2p.

I ran into this door once up to now, at level 39 dungeoneering on floor 13 (complexity 6).

Who knows wether I can do something to it, and if I can, what?

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing;

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews;

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores;

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

As you guessed it is members only. It is an herblore door and requires a vial to unlock.

Thanks for the great memories folks :).

I just thought that i should say that har'lakk is not very weak against bolt spells, so you might want to make a note in the guide that if you're not using high lvl spells against him you're not going to do much damage. I can't make any higher combat runes than chaos, and so i tried these against him until i died and then some and then realized that i could do a lot more damage with melee. Lucky i had bouldabass and gissel potatoes or i might have died a lot more. Im not sure when ill learn that its best to just use melee when i cant make very high level runes.

I love green. Yay green!

I think your melee may have been more effective than bolts spells because you have decent melee levels :P . But, I will look into checking out 'bolt' spells against him; see if there is a significant difference. :D

[hide=Thanks!]Encountered a 'puzzle room' - or - something. LoL

A room full of sleeping guards (with RS sound you can hear them snoring) and debris/trash on the ground. If you examine the trash it says something to the effect that running through it will make a sound. So - TURN OFF RUN. When you mouse over the guard there is a 'take key' option. You must be on the 'correct' side of the guard to take the key, otherwise it just tells you, you can't reach it from where you are. I took keys from all the guards, I thought I had to but I only needed 1 to unlock the door. On my way back out of the room through the door I entered - still walking - I broke something as I stepped onto the trash and the guards woke up - they use melee attack. They just dropped their bones for loot.

PuzzleRoomwithSleepingGuards.png

PuzzleRoomwithSleepingGuardsTakeKey.png

In the above picture, I couldn't steal the key from the guard's right side, I had to steal it from the left side, I stole the keys from the other guards all on the left side.

Since thieving is involved - I'm going to take a wild guess that if you're on a team - get your best thief to do this room.[/hide]

Thanks

i think you shoudln't mage the boss har'lakk, (f2p) i barely hit with mage, using a spear with att style stab will work much better

Thank you Vhellcat for the great picture and excellent info (you will be credited)! I got some more information on it from a friend in-game and they tell me that keys can be obtained by killing guards too if you do not decide to thieve them.

Thank you (and you're welcome). I got this room again today. It seems that only a specific key will open the door(s) so you may end up thieving from all of them.

The way only to kill the guards is by waking them (which I am guessing would happen if you ran through the room for sure - I have awaken them accidentally after thieving from them just by walking around trying to move through the room), by default they are snoozing ;)

The Unholy Cursebearer is said to be accessible at level 28 in the Dungeoneering Skill Guide, but its actually level 29.

AND, I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet, but I've found a different kind of boss, its more like multi-bosses. Anywhere heres a description and a picture:

runescape1.jpg

Upon entering the room, the tunnels will produce skeletons, zombies, etc. Your job is to listen to the Divine Skinweaver (Circled in red) to know when the tunnels are weak enough to "block." (The tunnels are already closed in the provided picture because it would be to dangerous to take one with all the enemies attacking). The tunnel holes are indicated in green, and can be blocked by simply clicking on them. Usually after killing most of the enemies that came out of the corresponding tunnel will allow you to block it. Standing near Divine Skinweaver (red circled) will provide you with periodic healing. Be sure to be protected from magic, range, and melee at the same time, you will be attacked by numerous enemies all using different attack styles. And one last thing, DON'T TAKE YOUR TIME! The longer you wait, the harder it's going to be for you! More enemies will spawn, thus making it harder to weaken and block the tunnels.

That's a skeletal horde boss, which I'm afraid is already located in the guide.

Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew

Bosses on the guide that are reflected 1 level below what is stated in the RS KB/skill guide have been proven to be unlocked at that level via screenshots. In-game verification is always the most definitive way to find out ;).
