Comon, we all understand the cause of the OPs infinite RAGE, trying to fight just one high level ancient mage with those stats is hell... more like suicide.

 

If you really hate those ancient mages, train up your ranging, then fire a few bolts up their [kitty] robe-skirts, you'll find it works quite well.

If you wonder why ancient mages do well, it's because of the overabundance of meleers. In castle wars, for example, about 95% of the team is only melee, and maybe 80% of them don't even carry dragonhide. Of course they're going to get massacred by magic. Want to beat a mage? Use range as at least part of your strategy. Running headfirst into ice barrage wearing rune is not the answer. Complaining afterwards isn't the answer either.

 

This tbh- why I always wear karils top with torag/ veracs legs (or skirt <_< ) lets me block mage with ease, while ripping people to part with a cbow or whip :rolleyes: Of course, the fun starts with 10 people dark bows specing you (insta kill :ohnoes: )

Eh, just a Karil's top is not going to save you from a mage who is wearing decent mage gear (so no crap like Dragon'hai gear and ancient staff)...

Think about it, people use ANCIENTS in pvp minigames, which is easily way more expensive than barrows repair costs...

Barrows top and bottom costs about 6k an hour to use. It's less than the potions you use.

Getting stronger is a good idea, but:

You can't bring specific gear into SC.

The damage reduction from prayers doesn't prevent their effects.

You have to reach them before they attack you to rob their runes.

Piling requires coordination.

Soooo - IMO wasting Barrows in Cwars is not a good idea unless you're just bored and want to dominate.

 

As you might see by my sig, I got 53 thieving (Thank You, SG) and have just over 3k cam tele's left for 69 mage which will get me 70 with the reward from the quest.

 

 

 

I hate range to death, but I guess I'm just gonna have to bring it with me. Train my range up one level to 50 first :wall:

Well yeah, as long as you dont completely waste your barrows screwing around in a non-profitable minigame the repair cost wont ammount any loss of wealth. Even then you could spent 13 screwing around and 3 hours slaying, you'd still yield some decent profit.

Oh, certainly not. However there are several powerful armour alternatives to Barrows that don't cost to repair.

They're all extremely useful skills (with the half exception of agility) but I HATE them and therefore, they are some of my lowest skills as I do not grind.

I see. Agility isn't really too terrible, just boring for me. RCing I just hate. Cons can be fun but it's way more expensive than it's worth and grinding it is horrible. Summoning just takes a long [wagon] time and we got along fine without it before....
