Ye Olde Hegemony

Retech

Recommended Posts

@Dungeonal

No YOU haven't agreed, but if you remember, nobles, and traders have their own powers and rights, they can agree to w/e they want if I ask them, and they all agreed according to Retech, but I would need the governments permission if I was allowed to establish full permanent trade routes, but everyone seems to be ignoring me, so I just went and bought out their traders...

It's a REALLY big shaft.

The merchants of my country serve only in the Hansa trade route. The one we paid to take part in. You don't get bonuses from my country for nothing. So we embargo you if that's what it takes, either way, you're taking too much without giving enough.

inb4 a post where you're like "i've put in 5m"

edit: also i mean retech are the trade/economy values arbitarily decided by you or is there a system? like is it possible to work out if it's beneficial to go into a trade league with a country or not to do it

Well if you put in less, then they're going to favour me... The nobles and traders are power hungry money chasers, so they go for the best deal.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

It has some arbitrariness (maybe that's not a word) and some system in it. Normally in a situation where there is a commodity that is rare (nutmeg in Indonesia or Silk from China), then normally a monopoly produces a larger profit than sharing. In a situation where you're trading commonly traded goods like fish, lumber, wool, etc, then it is generally beneficial for all countries to participate. Of course it gives traders greater power to demand from the government, but it is good from an economic standpoint.

It will only raise your economic score.

Nobles from my own country are going to prefer a country on the other side of the known world because you're putting more money into a trade route on the other side of the world?

Okay so who actually agrees with my trade route? Cause I'm seemingly getting annoyed, and it is actually starting to bug me.

Also do any of the NPC's comply, I did just send a request to everyone, meaning the NPC's too.

Fine Dungeonal, I don't really care any who, I was all up for trading equally for you, but you posted about you getting 100% say in w/e goes on, so I was like f that, so if we can agree on more equal terms, I would be happy to trade.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Ultimately we both want our own identity so we're not going to "merge". I don't even know what you want. Until Retech says it's either arbitary or actually logical how your economy is calculated, I'm not really going to commit to any decisions.

I don't mean everything I say goes: But that we have a veto.

Ireland refuses to officially trade with Scotland, meaning it can still happen, but only through smuggling. You can still go ahead, but it lowers Ireland's opinion of you. Also, that part of the trade route won't be as strong.

Zeirids are the Egyptian vassal, and since there is a crusade against them, they don't want to deal with any Christian country.

Hungary refuses to officially trade with Bulgaria, since they are at war. The rest allow the traders through, but they'll need more convincing before they'll help the trade route.

How the heck do we convince an NPC to join a trade route bro?

And how do we decide what is on our trade route? Do we just say..

EDIT: oops! I must've missed that, sorry

I ask your nobles to revolt. They do. I now control France. GF.

RETECH? do i get my effing raiding parties or not?!!?!? if i did, im sending them to the kings camp in whales, to assist dusty. divide and counquer, and duty, spli england 50/50? you also get whales.

I have no interest in England, but maybe later.

Dusty, they were tribal lands. Basically he got no IEG, and he was basically saddled with a 50% extra cost for his infrastructure. The only thing is that he has more oppertunities for trade and expansion of his government, as well as all the things you get with more territory, like a higher chance of finding something in his land.

Huh?

We assure Hungary that Bulgaria is not part of the trade route, and have annoyed the French nation by trying to murder their traders.

I also read on wikipedia that we have a trade route with Syria, which is trading us silk and silver,

We reduce the monopoly of Bulgaria using the silk road, by opening up silk trade routes, and we also begin to monopoilse silver.

It's a REALLY big shaft.

Icu you need to be one of the eastern countries to use the silk road. I'll give you a hint; France aint in eastern europe :-| However bulgaria is. Also if we are going to go by wiki I have large gold mines and a talented metal crafting society.

Well apparently I'm trading with Syria by now, well have been for like 300 years. Your silk monopoly ends here!

Also, with my other researches, I add another tech, cost, I'ma say around 250,000

Siege technology - Catapults and trebucheats have an increased range to everyone else's, 10 years, 2 done already

Naval technology - Ships have higher speed and capacity than everyone else's, 10 years, 2 done already

Hygiene - Workers are in better condition and the army is also in a better condition, slight increases to production and troop survival rating after battles 5 years, 2 done already

Farming technology - Food yield is increased, and quality of crops increase, people eaten higher quality food, slight increase to worker production and troop effectiveness, 8 years, 2 done already

Mining technology - Production output of metals and such increase, luxury metal trade increase, cost of troops using armor lowered slightly, 15 years, 2 done already

Armoured wagons - Trade caravans have better protection, 5 years, 2 done already

Bladed wagons - Trade caravans can fight back with better effectiveness, 5 years, 2 done already

Horse breeding - Quality of calvalry increase, horses less likely to die, and charge faster, 8 years, 2 done already

Horse armor - Horses less likely to die, 5 years, 2 done already

Silver Economy - Increases Silver output and silver quality, 10 years, 1 done already

Total cost = 1,750,000

It's a REALLY big shaft.

No, it means you'll have more powerful siege weapons, cause I've only done 10 years research, while you're doing 30, but there is no reason why I can't increase the project to 30 years when it is done, just to get an effect earlier.

It's a REALLY big shaft.
