Getting a 99?

If I can remember correctly it has been about 5-6 years since i started playing rs, while I've had multiple accounts my first is still my main. With that being I feel ashamed to say that I have yet to achieve a 99. It is also been a personal goal for my first 99 to not be fletch, fm, wc, or cooking. What I think the main reason I don't have one know is the fact that I cannot make money and that 18m is the most I hav ever had. I have 3m atm.

Does anyone have any tips for me on getting a 99? Like, what I should go for, beside whats listed above, or other things.

If you do Manage thy kindom, dailies (rune shops, feathers, unfinished bolts, battlestaffs, etc.), and a herb run or two a day and you will easily make money to substain training for most skills.

Yeah i agree with ^^^ herb runs are always good way to make cash, with all patches using ranarrs u can make 300k+ profit. You could alch/plank make (very expensive) 99mage, cannon/chin 99 range once u have the money

Runecrafting has always been one of my favorite skills to train, i understand the fact you dont want an easy 99 although it wouldnt be bad to get your first 99 with something rather easy

Something you can do while your training that skill like forums...

I was in the same boat as you last year (got my first 99 after 6 years of RS). I choose woodcutting, but it did took a lot of grinding. A month from level 80-99 wc with chopping ivy. Was boring as hell, and I probably won't get another 99 anytime soon.

Even in a skill you like, grinding to 99 will get boring and you will quit and do other things, at least temporarily. Take whatever you do 1 level at a time, or even set mini goals, like getting to a certain level to get access to something better to train on. Thinking about getting 20+ levels or 10+ million xp won't do you any good.

Prayer is great for this; you get a new thingy every few levels and once you have turmoil you have the most useful prayers in RS. The grinding isn't too boring with an altar, as you can do it in short bursts (540 on one terrorbird, for example). As you are level 60, you have many curses within easy distance.

Do other stuff while doing skills, or do one lvl in something, then one lvl in something. i did atk and str in one go and cmb burnt out, so def is taking its time while i round out other skills, and dw about the fact that u dont have a 99, ive been playing since classic and only got my first 99 last year

Don't worry about not having a 99, I only got my first a month ago, and I've been playing for several years.

Don't force yourself to fish for a month for a cape either, train something you like. Try out different skills, then focus on one. I tried out hunter, slayer, construction, crafting, etc. and ended up loving construction, so I kept training it.

Just don't give up on your goal, and you should be fine! GL

99s are overrated. It doesnt show anything. If youre getting a 99, make it a 99 you like. Dont cook for hours on end just so you can walk out with a cape. I did rc because it is my favorite skill.

This. Not having 99's is definetly nothing to be shamed of, almost visa versa, I find more 'noobier' the people who bore themselves to death just to get a pretty cape to show off. A 99 will come while playing, well I understand people who are almost there and want to grind the last levels but anyhow if getting a 99 is your goal, I'd suggest you get it in a skill that you like the most and what keeps you playing runescape or if you don't find anything interesting then.. why would you even be playing?

I agree with what all the above have said. Don't get a 99 just for the sake of getting a 99. Make it a skill you like. I got wc not because it was easy, because it was my favorite skill. Wc also gave the the chance to do other things while training it, like browsing the forums. I did it in about 10 level chunks till i got to 80, then I started 5 level chunks. I did other skilling/quests/etc in between these so I didn't get too bored. Things like this really save you.
