August 2, 201015 yr Title says it all. Shadow Silk hood has so many restrictions on which monsters it affects, there's a slight offensive penalty as well. Prom plate is the highest def of any bindable item obviously. I have heard from quite a few people that the hood is worthwhile though, I just dont see how, at least until you have 100 dung. Can someone explain why hood is so useful, if they say it's better the prom plate? Currently I have Prom Spear (p++) and prom plate bound with a useless tier 8 berserker ring (hoping for refund).

August 2, 201015 yr GET A HOODGET A HOODGET A HOOD-- Pro DG teams look at you as a noob without them-- You get dealt a LOT less damage than with a plate, even with all of the restrictions. This is just out of personal experience, and I'm 88 DG.-- On good teams youll be the only scrub without a hood and then youll get hit by everything and end up as meatshield-- As a nonkeyer allows you to kill monsters in a GD in a specific order that saves you food (kill non-hood-safe monsters first, and then hood-safe monsters second)-- Is almost necessary as a keyer if you don't want to have to run to your team for food all the time T8 Zerker isn't useless - You should always use zerker unless you're at a ranging boss or if youre keyer (I advise T6+ tank if youre keys) Ever wanted to find street prices of RS items? August 2, 201015 yr This is a great thread tbh. I recently got a silk hood recently and was wondering the same. I haven't done any team games with it yet, but the few levels I soloed it was mildly useful. It's kind of a toss-up cause I noticed at least solo I had to camp for extra food or use time to make a plate.
August 2, 201015 yr Hood, hands down. I've recently gotten one (because I was in a noob team and they never noticed me killing the Night Spider) and I can already tell the difference. Pro dungers look at you a lot more differently, they suddenly have 'respect' and faith in you if you have a hood, it means you were actually smart enough to keep the hood above prom plate for example. Get a prom 2h though for your ring. ooh eeh ooh ahah, ting tang wallawallabingbang m8
August 2, 201015 yr Hood is always better than plate, rushing or not. You can mine ores and make a plate as you go actually, but GL getting a hood each dungeon. How to Chin Nechyraels for fast XP and profit
August 2, 201015 yr Hood over plate. I'm assuming it's all humanoids, so I'll list them all here. And by "immunity" I mean them not attacking you. Frozen floors: Immunity to the forgotten variants, shades, ice warriors, and ice giants. Abandoned floors: Immunity to the forgotten variants, shades, earth warriors, hill giants, (giant) skeletons, and zombies. Furnished floors: Immunity to the forgotten variants (these appear a LOT here), shades, and brutes. Even with the restrictions, hood is still extremely useful. August 2, 201015 yr Author Forgotten variants except mages. And shades? I thought they didn't count? They only work on Forgotten warriors/Rangers, Skeletons(except mages), hill giants, zombies. Not on Brutes, earth/ice warriors for some reason. I think I'll switch to the hood the next time I get a drop. Unfortunately with my smithing lvl I can't just mine and smith prom armor during a large dungeon, and that would kinda slow down the rushing

August 2, 201015 yr Most of the monsters that can see through a hood are weak to the 2H's attack styles anyway, aren't they? So it's no big deal that you can't stab. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP

August 2, 201015 yr I have yet to meet a monster in dungeoneering that is so exclusively weak to stab that neither slash nor crush on the 2h will hit effectively.brutes and hobgoblins are REALLY weak to stab. It's the difference between like missing 20% of the time with a 2H and never missing with a spear.but overall the 2H is worth it for the berserker class anyways is there still a glitch that slash on the spear works with berserker? *shrug*
August 2, 201015 yr Yeah I do have some trouble with hobgoblins :\ and they're really accurate too lol. How to Chin Nechyraels for fast XP and profit

August 3, 201015 yr Author erm...hobgoblins are weak to crush.... I thought they were weak to stab. Anyways I switched over to prom 2h today, if they give a refund for berserker on rings I might switch back to spear though. Or keep 2h, but only upgrade to 5 or 6, wasn't paying attention to cost, and Im saving for a chaotic maul.
August 4, 201015 yr Dragons are also weak to stab. And whoops why did I include the forgotten mage... should have just put warrior and ranger. But aren't brutes humanoid? And shades are undead too, just like zombies and skeletons. And earth/ice warriors? That just doesn't make sense. I guess it's only at the peak of usefulness in Abandoned floors (F30-35 is what you'll be 5:5 larging anyway). Idk what the deal with brutes are, but I can understand Earth/Ice warriors since they're technically elementals, and not humanoids. Idk what shades are :P Fisher/Woodcut------Me-----Miner/crafter----Stabber----Leecher ^Golvellius must be so proud^
