I was so close to buying Zuriel's Hood and Staff for tonight but after I had spent 9M on Runes and Infinity I decided to call it enough.

Maybe I'll buy the staff though... just for tonight :twisted:

This. I love my healer hats. :thumbup:

Bandos mitre gives +6 to magic attack and defence and +4 to prayer, that's even better i expect them to rise even further.

I guess infinity is only so expensive because of the time it takes to obtain those items.

I think the healer hat is quite stunning. (see what I did there? magic? stun? level 80? haha?)

I'm an avid user of farseer helms, myself. Could change though... :thumbup:

I prefer ahrim's hood or a god mitre

I only do combat magic for slayer, so I choose the full slayer helmet.

Thanks to this topic I now know my healer hat gives better bonuses than ahrim hood, always thought they were tied.

I always thought that Farseer helm made you look like some sort of ram.. so I avoided wearing it. Even if it meant paying *Gasp* 5k an hour to use Ahrim's Hood.

I think them fremmeniks helmets look damn good, horns represent power they don't represent rams.

And the farseer helm looks the best of all :P

Pros use healer hats. Free and better mage attack than farseer or inf. :thumbup:

(And the yes the inf hat is for looks rather than usefulness compared to farseer + it takes time to get infinity but you can always just buy a farseer instantly like stated previously)

I actually didn't know about the farseer helm bonus until I read this, even though I have one in my bank. When I didn't want to use my Ahrim I usually just used a mystic hat, which is worse. I guess you never know when information in a thread might be useful to someone.

Farseer where you don't need offense stats (not pvp, or hybriding something) Mainly bursting lobs, etc

 

Ah where you need the melee stats that you'd lose with farseer.

 

Infinity where you want to look leet, or don't want something that degrades, but which doesn't have negative melees.

The Farseer Helm is only around 45-50K, yet the Infinity Hat is more than 65x that amount but tends to be used more... For what reason?

 

Because it's a pain in the ass to get, and older items aren't exactly scaled properly with newer items. This might be changing in the near future, however, as Jagex has recently shown an interest in changing this (for those who remember the ill-fated climbing boots to rock-climbing boots update).

 

It's like comparing snakeskin boots to ranger boots. It's always nice to know these amazingly smart-spending ways to get comparable gear for lower prices, but there isn't a lot of discussion that can go along with it.
