Has Jagex manipulated GE prices?

Today I brought some seeds in preparation for the Bonus Exp Weekend. It took me all day to gather these seeds at maxium price. Some of them were Palm tree seeds to be exact. However, it appears from my observation on the updated GE database that the Palm tree seeds have decreased in price (only slightly, but alot if everyone was buying at maxium price). This goes for several herbs that were brought out as soon as the details of the Bonus Exp Weekend were released. Some of the herbs have also decreased slightly. Shouldn't the prices skyrocket if the demand is well over the supply in terms of the situation of the Bonus Exp Weekend 'rush'?

This, quite obviously. And I guess they "technically" manipulate prices in that an item can update without being traded (seen it happen with half wines).

Last update was either at the same moment or after they announced the w-end. Prices should raise quite a lot in the next hours.

Ge isn't working the way we think it is.

 

Not too long ago i put 100 rune bars on Ge min price, they didn't sell for a whole day and they were crashing, the next day they rised with like 700 gp so they weren't on min anylonger but they were still not getting sold.

I did an icestryke task and got another 10 rune bars and instead of cancelling my previous rune bars that i was selling and merge them together to save a ge slot i did just place those 10 rune bars up in a new slot on max and they sold instantly while my 100 rune bars just a bit above min price weren't being sold at all.

I then cancelled the 100 bars and placed them back on the Ge max price and they also sold instantly.

 

I also placed an offer on the GE to buy lets say 2x zammy spear, once on mid once on max. (wasn't a zammy spear though, it's just an example)

Then the one on mid bought before the one on max... good for me but bad for the one selling it.

For the rune bars, they could have been bought out the first hours of the latest ge update and crashed the last minutes before the next ge update, this would explain the price rise and the bars not selling at min.

If you put your bars at minimum and they rose in price due to a GE update, aren't they out of range then? Presume 1000 is minimum, price rises 700 -> new minimum price is 1700.

Im currently agreeing with this guy.... If you check the prices today, thanks to the newest ge update you will see ranarrs happily rising. Happily for me anyways, unknowing of the update I bought 14K ingrediants for p pots the day before the announcement :thumbup:

Look at half wines, they are being periodically updated now. People could just be selling them on the G.E (rofl) or jagex is selling some/ updating the price.

 

I'm fine with this because it helps to reflect the actual value of the item.

To be quite honest with you, I think this should be done for all the rare items (that and lending through the GE). Should this ever be implemented (because it won't) #-o It would effectively eliminate that [developmentally delayed] market known as "junk"

Jagex has been saying for a long time that they are watching the rare market to find better prices for items.

 

Over 9000 years later and we have seen zero progress still.

Sure they f things up sometimes, but it's a game. We aren't stock brokers we're normal people playing a game...

They don't need to run a virtual stockmarket. Assuming they make it right in the first place, it pretty much runs itself.

People got pissed because it was increased for no apparent reason and is now often obsolete for PVP because it protects over many high priced items.
