Drawing of a Death Knight (Warcraft)

Featured Replies

I don't really post a lot on here, or make a lot anymore; but I was kinda proud I actually made something for a change (Haven't made something in... a lot of months)

I'd like some C&C on it, but before you start. The head is small on purpose. I'm a big fan of cartoony, disproporioned characters, hence why I made the body bigger then the head, and the legs quiet long. Still, I do want symmetry, so if you find something with that, you can put in in your critics.

Other things I kinda already noticed are the (imo) too fat outlines on it.. Had a to big pen when I was outlining the original drawing. The pattern on the right (our right) leg (between the pieces of plate armour) is bigger then that on the left and on the arms.

So yea.. here it is.

Great drawing. The hair seems a bit simple, could be worked on a bit more though. :)

Pixel sigs by me.

That's a nice drawing, though the smoothness of the cape doesn't really fit in with the body I think.

Great picture :)

Loving his armour, cape shoudl indeed be more edgy, but it's very good for the rest.

An update on hair, cape and stuff around his eyes. Improvement?

You should try and submit it to Blizzard's fan art section

The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak.

WOW, thats amazing! just one thing.. is he on stilts  , make the legs a bit shorter and it will look better

ermm all the c/c i can come up with is that the face doesn't really have the much detail... and that the left foot is a little odd... other then that... fine artwork

Everybody lovin' it, but ain't no body touchin' it

Cape looks awesome, the body needs a little more texture and shading and a little less black imo.

OH my god :o *collapses*

Very nice work, the only thing that I can pick out is that to me the thumb on the left hand looks odd.

Keep up the great work.

nice work, buy ruffing up the edges, u should like take chunks out of the edges and stuff, looks a little to brand new for theother armour. his left shoulder pad looks a littke silly aswell, compared to his right one... but overall great work

Hey, man, long time no see. Still working your digital magic.

Looks great. The texturizing of the cape really made a huge difference.

Great job!

The points annoying me the most are the paper flat perspective and his legs being three times the length of his upper body. Other than that its filled with nice details. However when you outline each part with the fat black it makes the image cartoony. The coloring doesn't really work with the outlined style IMO.

Find a better stance for DK to pump an extra dimension to it.

Add more highlights.

Cut the leggies.

Long legs and a small head are my style.

"Do you really know me? I might be a God."

I don't mean to sound harsh but it hardly is a "style". Your style is to do "a detail...another detail...detail...another detail" and hope it makes a great piece. It usually ends up being lifeless, as is the case this time.

  • Author

I didn't take offense, and no, adding detail, detail and more detail is not my style. Not a style even. Small heads and long legs is. And yes, I noticed the fat outline and I know I [bleep]ed that up right at the start, just read my first post. The reason it's lifeless is probably the coloring, which I tried not to make very extravaganly, which would not suit such a .. deathknight. The reason it doesn't have much perspective is because the picture is from full frontal view. To not make it to boring, I added the diagonal legs and arms, and the cape. Your other point was noted.
