2006 movies

Featured Replies

What movies are you looking forward to see in 2006? here is some of mine;

I actually can't think of any more at the moment, but Im sure there is more.

I edit later

What movie was the best 2005? my vote goes to King Kong

Heard rumours of a new Rocky coming out. I'd like to see one more as the last Rocky was a major disappointment. No idea will it come in 2k6 (or will it come at all), tho.

I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.

Miami Vice looks pretty good. Michael Mann + Jamie Foxx is money. Collin Ferril...I guess we can stand him can't we?

So does Southland Tales. Whodda thunk The Rock and Buffy would star in a Comedy/Musical/Sci-Fi/Thriller. The Rock+Richard Kelly+combined genres=best movie of all time? I know so.

I hope Max Payne comes out in 2006.

Yeah, i've heard that Rocky's adversary is played by Antonio Tarver, and Mike Tyson makes a cameo appearance.

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.

The Producers.. or is that not coming out in '06?

Jurassic Park 4, X3 and Spiderman 3 are being made. I dunno if they're gonna be out next year though.

When is the new Bond movie due out? Next summer or two summers from now? That's the movie that I'm really looking forward to. 8)

Jurassic Park 4 and X3 will be out in 2006, but spiderman 3 will be out 2007. Looking forward to all of those movies.

V for Vendetta - supposedly postponed because of the london bombings, it was supposed to be out already.

X Men 3 - saw the first two, so i figured i might as well see this one.

Sin City 2 - listed as coming out in 2006, dont know if it actually does or not.

Southland Tales - directed by richard kelly, lets hope its a little better than domino (not that domino was all that bad)

Mission Impossible III - as a tom cruise fan i have to see this one

Poseidon - actually didnt know they were remaking this until about 2 minutes ago when i was looking through the upcoming releases. the original was a hoot, hopefully this one is good.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - johnny depp was funny in the first one, the movie was pretty funny, so hopefully this one still stays good.

Clerks 2 - liked his other movies (even jersey girl  ) will probably like this one.

the remake of the Warriors.
I don't think that's going be good at all. They are taking all the cool/wacky gangs out of the first, and I think it's in like L.A. It's hardly even a remake. http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles ... tory.jhtml

Plus, even if you refer to it as a remake, it's only like 25 years old. What's the point of remaking that? It's not like some great new movie invention has come in (ie. colour, or something), and there's no special effects to update. I don't think it will have the charm of the original at all. But I guess we'll see.

There are more movies that are being remade from the 70's than The Warriors. For example Dawn of the Dead, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, King Kong (which was remade from the thirties of course). Of course you can do much more with special effects, new techniques, lenses, sound etc. etc. do you think it stopped evolving after the 70's? And you could face a worse director than Tony Scott.

It stopped evolving stubtantially...And Plus, None of those remakes were good. I didn't even know there was a King Kong in the 70's. It must have been a real keeper.

I would say CGI are pretty important in nowadays cinema. I don't see how those remakes were very bad. And that there was a King Kong in the 70's is very well known. If only for the rant that came when Kon was located at the World Trade Center instead of the Empire State building.

But as I said...There wasn't any computer generation in the first...And if there is in the remake, that will take all the authentic feel out of it. Like, when they have the thousands of gangsters all together...Some of the extra's in the original were actual gangsters.

It's not like that authentic feel gets ereased of the old movie. I like it that they have one that has that 'authentic' feeling and a newer one that is graphically optimized. That's two different things rather then remaking something that has been done before. Also it makes links to older movies other people might have never heard of and makes them start seeing older movies.
