169 dark beasts.

I was wondering if it would be worth it to go ahead and do this dark beast task or if i should cancel it? I've got plenty of p pots but when i did my last task i think i lost money instead of made anything(my 2 best drops were effigys)

It's a very average task if you don't cannon them, but great for afking. Not great for effigies(because of high lp).

At 96+ prayer you restore 31 prayer points per dose of prayer potion. At 72... well its like 24? And I like to soul split dark beasts so you dont have to bring food or anything.

I know on my last task in Prossy top+V skirt and Ardy cloak 3 i used about 12-15 p pots and that was a task of 196 or so. Should i just go ahead and block them since i have 1 spot left open, or are they not assigned often enough to justify blocking them.

Guthans > prayer. Wear the plate and legs all the time. Keep the spear and helm in you inventory for healing while you use whip/slayer helm at high health.

@Flare, i dont like them that much because i always end up having to bank for more pots.

 

@crowley, I cant afford guthan's or i would use it, like i said above i spent a lot of my bank on herb (made 100 ext pure sets, 500 spec rests, and 500 super anti's)

pray pots dont cost 10k they are as cheap as dirt

You can semi-tank dark beasts.

 

Use good armor. Healing familiar. Some prayer pots for backup.

 

If they healing familiar can't keep up, slap on protect prayer for a while.

 

Rinse and repeat.

Never cancel a task that could potentially have a big profit and chance at a good amount of blue charms. Unless you're a efficiency freak, you should do them. And by that i mean unless you want the fastest possible exp instead of actually enjoying the game, then sit back, relax, and do one of the most awesome tasks Slayer has to offer.

If you spend the effigy on 85+ herb or prayer it's technically worth around 750k at least with herb and prayer @ 20gp/xp or so.

I've heard way to many people (efficiency concerned people) say that they are horrible Exp (unless you cannon, which OP clearly stated he cannot afford).

They aren't the most enjoyable task (I don't think) but they're easy to AFK and ok for blue charms and you will usually get an effigy per task with a chance of a Dark Bow too. Pretty decent combat and Slayer xp too. Personally I would do them, there are worse slayer tasks out there in my opinion.

I'd do them in Kuradal's dungeon - you can duck into the abyssal demons room when you need a breather.
