2005 : A Year In Review, and the future? / Resolutions?

Featured Replies

Well, as 2005 draws to a close and we're all ready to start over with new resolutions, it's time to look back on the past 12 months :)

What's happened to you this year? What have you accomplished, and what are you ashamed of? And also, what are your new years resolutions?

Nothing really amazing up til March for me which was my 16th, also the day I met a friend I knew via the internet, for a drunken house party :) great fun.

May was the highschool prom and the end of compulsary education.

July I took a holiday in Nerja in Spain. Was drunk for like 4 days straight before a sober day :D

Early september I went to my first real gig, Reel Big Fish + Skindred which was amazin.

September was the start of college, many new beginnings and stuff.

October-November I had my first girlfriend in ages, which I now whole heartedly regret...also went to another gig, some local bands, but very memorable :)

December I played a live gig for college with a friend, which was a great experience. I also saw Skindred and Devil Sold His Soul (2 days ago actually) which was also amazin.

New years resolutions : Gain some weight and muscle, be more social and go to more parties/get drunk more often, expand musical horizons further :)

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!

Went to America for the first time this year (not impressed :?) It's just like Canada........

I did a lot of stuff this year. I... got my driver's license, got my first job, went to upstate Alberta, CA to visit some family I never thought I had, went to a few NFL games, saw Chevelle live, and got my first paper arrest. That's of course just what pop up to my mind.

Aced a fake old-sat, got halfway through my novel, learned about rs...*gasp**gasp**gasp*...

I like the irony (no wait, paradoxicality) in how there's a spelling error in this sig.

Wrong, there's no Harvey's in Home Depot there :x

I remember walking from McDonald's to Home Depot looking for Harvey's because McD's was full. They said there's no Harvey's in Home Depot

Most of what I accomplished was more mental than anything. Learned to be content, figured out what I want to do with my life, become the kind of person I want to be (in regards to attitude, outlook, etc..), and things like that.

This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.

This year was an alright year i guess...

- I met some cool people

- Got to know some people better than ive known for a long time

- Started exercising more

- Pulled my grades up a little bit

my new years resolutions are...

- Study hard and get top grades

- Get to know some people a bit more

- Get a nice , good looking, caring gf

- Do more exercise and weights to tone my body up a little bit

- Put on a little bit of weight

i did the same as i did the 3 year before that.

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

Hmmmm, pretty big year for me.

8th Jan: Went snowboarding in Andorra with 3 of my closest friends, had an absolute blast and we're going again on the same date in 2006.

3rd March: Turned 21, got absolutely hammered. Bought a new car.

June: Went to the Download festival, came back and went off to Glastonbury a couple of weeks later.

December: Moved into a house on my own (this was 6 days ago) and i'm really enjoying it.

In between all that, there's a few gigs i've been to (Trivium, Lamb of God, Devildriver, Still Remains, 3 Inches Of Blood, Oasis, The Zutons), and i've also spent time visiting friends at Unis in Reading, London, and Plymouth.

As far as resolutions go, i'm not sure i have many, other than keeping everything in order, paying all my bills on time and not having to sell my house :P

Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.
i did the same as i did the 3 year before that.

acutally , i went to see harry potter.

Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.

2005 has been a mint year for me:D

Sporting wise: England won the ashes, Liverpool won the Champs League, I finally got through my North of England rugby trials, I got accepted to do the London Marathon next year - that's been fab!

In other accounts: We had Live8, I raised ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã470 for comic relief by eating skittles, (what could be better? :P) I went on that amazing trip to Africa - God there's so much great stuff that's happened I can't remember it all! :D

I settled some long-term disputes, made some brilliant new friends and lived life truthfully how I'd wanted to for the first time since I was a kid.

A toast to 2005! :D (Dodges TheSith throwing toast)

Well it was a nice year :)

Relaxing at school,not getting overtired

A party here and one over there and enjoy the vacations as much as I can :D

And alot of snowboarding in the summer 8) ,going on a ski vacation in februari but I'm going to ski instead of snowboarding :(

But it's good fun :D ,skiing and in the night 'apres skiie!' 8) ,that's alot of fun :D

I think I'm going to work as much as I can so I can buy a aprillia if I'm going to be 16 :D ,that's my main goal for the next year :)

Earn as much money as I can!! :D :D

Update to my new years resolution list:

Save enough money to buy a bowflex

Anyway, this was a pretty wasted year. Only achieved one of my goals-- and that was get an A average first and second semmester. I didn't do any of the other goals I wanted to

for starters I built up my cofidence a bit and started juts talking to people and being me rather than what people wanted me to be and made soooooooooooo many new friends and now it is near impossible to find a person in my year who doesn't known Slug (my rl nickname).

I got a proper g/f for once, muhc to the annoyence of many people as many think she is fit and I am not consider to be one of the gd looking people.

I got over last parts of a history of dperession and attempt suicide, whihc was probably the best point

and basically I just had fun, even if it did slightly annoy one or two (try all) of my teachers
