Getting Pked when I have nothing of value.

Featured Replies

I've been trying to train agility at the wilderness course for the past couple of days, and it's been increasingly hard to get there without being pked. I literally carry NOTHING of value with me, the pker always loses money when they kill me (due to runes, pots etc being used). I wear a spotted cape, boots of lightness and an Enchanted Excalibur, and in my inventory a normal antipoisen and around 12 or so monkfish. The best thing they could loot of me would be my spotted cape (which is worth less than 1k), and even then I protect item and always keep everything but the antipoisen and food. WHY do pkers insist on killing me everytime I go up there, even when I ask them to stop they just 'lol' and keep going until I'm dead. The wilderness coming back has seemingly made agility training at the wilderness course harder, although the lack of revenants is very nice when I do actually get to the course. Anyone else having this problem? And yes, I know this happened before wilderness was taken away, it just seems it's happening a lot more than it used to.

The bolded words mean that it's dangerous, and while it's frustrating, it would surprise me if it didn't happen. It doesn't mean they're rude, it means they're in the wilderness. Some pk for fun, so they wouldn't care if you dropped 12 monks or 12 partyhats

I'm not defending myself? My first post after the thread was defending myself.

Of course it's not the best xp if I'm getting killed before I get there, that's obviously a given. I'm just annoyed that people insist on killing me when there's clearly no reward from doing so. I would say the same thing if I was doing a high level wilderness clue scroll. I have to go into high level wilderness to finish the clue scroll, but the outcome would be the same I would still be killed for nothing. You can't say then 'Don't do Clue Scrolls', theres no alternative to clue scrolls like there is with agility.

Why should someone have to get a reward to motivate them to kill you?

Look, I think people are missing the point here. I'm not saying I shouldn't be killed or anything like that, they can kill me if they want to. It's just annoying when I'm just minding my own business trying to get somewhere. I pose no threat to anyone and I have no valuable items on me. It's more of a being polite thing. You can either choose to let me pass and be nice, or kill me for your own pathetic ego and be a douche.

You are in the wilderness, so even though you don't pose a threat, you're still an easy target. And how does killing people in the wild make them douchey? Isn't that the purpose of the wild? You're not special, don't expect special treatment because you chose to skill in the wild.

It's like camping in COD/ HALO, it's annoying, but it's part of the game. Perfectly legal. Just gotta hope you don't run into them and continue playing normally.

On another note, try getting 90 mage for tele group ice plateau.

^^ I mean, I can understand the pker just going ape [cabbage] all over the wildy - but there is very little point in killing people without any real value drops.

Maybe if we start some forums on the RS page - we can get them to move some of these things (i.e the quests, agility arena, etc)

Didn't they say that they weren't going to let quests take place in the wildy?

I would kill you. Just for the lols.

everyone knows that lols > random people's feelings

It's great you know what you're talking about rustiod. Everything you've said is 100% accurate a true.

That being said...your a [bleep]ing [bleep] douchebag, and none of your advice will ever (or should ever) be taken seriously because of it.

disregard good advice because the giver is a douche

THAT MAKES YOU A BETTER PERSON

Ape atoll is probably better (for me it is a lot more fun so it was definitely better even without pkers)

All skills 70+

Trails: 2 x Rune platebody (g)

Barrows: 1 x Dharok's legs

Drops: 1 x Dragon skirt | 1 x Dragon defender

For lolz basically. Same reason that people like playing games on 'easy' setting when they're pro, it's still fun to win without a challenge.

And they already moved quests didn't they?

carry seercull? it pisses those mages off. carry something to make your death costly for the pker. It's more entertaining training agility in the wild.

when you carry defensive devices like the seercull or a dds, it just ticks off the pker, which is so fun to do! (try a handcannon?)

Super restore and hand cannon exploding > u

i see your point, the pker has nuthing to gain from killing you (besdies the lulz).

but you cant deny, your in the wild, thay are equiped to kill. you may be minding your own business, but remember so is the pker, and that business is you.

it may not be nice, or even fair, but its how it is. the wild was made to be like that, risky, but rewarding.

i wish happy training for you.

I'm a Brony and proud of it!

This happens a lot less than it used to. Before wilderness was removed, I got killed in 5 minutes almost every time I went there.

"Pkers" kill you to annoy you. So annoy them back to feel better =D deal damage to them without getting skulled lol...

Yeah, like that zaryte bow

wait

recharge costs = ammo.

So, all melee weapons are overpowered, at least.

this combat triangle finally makes sense...

There should be some sort of reward for not being a nerdy douchebag pker that really needs to fix their life.

My lame drops:
6 Effigys
1 D Med - 1 D Dagger
1 Verac's Helmet - 1 Guthan's Platebody

There should be some sort of reward for not being a nerdy douchebag pker that really needs to fix their life.

lol u mad bro?

I think he mad bro.

But yeah, I believe we can easily say that good people attract douches. If you're running around with no items of value and aren't annoying anyone, of course people are gonna be [bleep]s. It's life. However, it is really annoying.

TT rewards: 2 ranger boots, Zamorak page 1 (2x), Guthix page 1, Ancient page 2

You must construct additional oak larders doors... I mean pylons

Barrows: 10. Total value~22.3 mil. Ahrim Robeskirt is currently the item I have received the most.

Several people I've killed wearing "nothing" have actually made me money. I don't kill the people in level 1 edge wearing nothing because they've never dropped anything good, but out in the upper levels of the wilderness I've found several that carry runes or coins for some odd reason.

Whenever I'm in wilderness, I have a sentence typed ready, so if someone kills me, I will say: "Good job, here's a spade for your effort."

"An Amateur practices until he can get it right. A Professional practices until he can't get it wrong."

Quests just keep bringing me back to this game.

I think a part of this issue may be remnants of the outdated EP system lingering in peoples' minds, where it was quite possible to kill someone wearing nothing and get millions of gp if they happened to be risking. Another part is that, let's face it, it's fun to kill people and being lightly armed makes you a great no-risk target for their entertainment. Not to mention that they may just kill you to see what you were carrying, perhaps you accidentally withdrew 50m from your bank before you left and you didn't realize it etc. To fix this, it's pretty simple, PK these guys for yourself. You know they are going to show up there at some point, and you know that they're not expecting much in the way of resistance from the agility trainers they're targeting. Get them to underestimate you, slap on the torva and claws them to death. Okay okay okay, not torva, but your regular p2p pk gear setup lol. Consider putting some of it in your inventory so that you look like a simple agility trainer rather than a trained, educated individual who's about to murder them for their ahrims and karil's.

No, it has always been like this.

I have been pked at wildy agility course several times in the 'good old days'.

I think it is perfectly normal though. That's why it is the wilderness.
