I did steels and irons for a while at your level then got upset from seeing max melee's hitting 600+ on dragons with a gray stick while I was lucky to pop off a 300 with my lbs and super set. So after blocking them for a while, then finally getting 85 DG, they are now my favorite task. I would at least suggest a stab weapon over whip or korasi slashing (spec is still handy). 85-88 herb would be a wise investment also, if you can afford it that is. Deserts are about an hour. I've had good luck and decent drops from both tasks. I like the noted Pure Essence, Torstol seeds and such. Believe me, they get skipped from time to time.
