Do you ever bother shutting the light?

We don't have motion sensors, or individual lights in the toilets, or special keys or anything cool. We have 1 switch for the whole bathroom. And no I don't ever turn it off because it's just plain inconvenient. So many people going in and out all day there's hardly a time when nobody is in there so turning it on and off would just be a hassle. I turn my house lights off since most of the time nobody is in a particular room.

This is the way the world ends. Look at this [bleep]ing shit we're in man. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. And with a whimper, I'm splitting, Jack.

no reason for me the save energy, i pay $10 into my familys 30 or 40 dollar a month electric bill, if i conserve ill still be paying 10. thats why i have had my computer on for about 70 of the past 72 hours, and leave my satelite/stereo/dvd on and just turn on the tv when i want to watch something.

So basically you don't care about making your family pay more money than they have to? It's all about you?

yep, all about me. i dont think i use $10 worth of electricity a month, and they just make me pay because i leave stuff on, they dont make my other siblings pay. so really its just $10 for the extra i use, which definently isnt close to 10 a month.

never shut it off at school, because you cant. have to have a key to work the lights. i dont shut them off at home either, then i have to turn it on again. and i dont care about saving energy, so no reason to.

You would care if you were paying the bill. :?

And if you are paying the bill... you should care. Energy prices are going to skyrocket, at least in my area. The price of energy in this area is increasing by like 50%.

You couldn't switch 'm off at my school, so they were always on. At home I switch them off though.

did you bother reading any of my other posts?

Did you bother reading my entire post that you just quoted?

Apparently not.

And $10 is hardly the entire bill. Especially if the bill rises and you're still only stuck paying $10. Obviously you feel as if you have nothing to worry about because you're only paying a crummy $10, which is really foolish on your part.

Yeah... but try reading my post next time... I covered all the bases.

lets go through your original post again then:

You would care if you were paying the bill. Confused

i pay 10 a month, more than i use. explained through the other posts.

And if you are paying the bill... you should care.

not paying the bill, i pay 10 a month, as previously stated.

not part of our discussion, but yes energy prices are going to rise, and eventually ill have to pay more.

does that clear it up?

My school opperates the lights in the wardrobe and toilets with sensors so your school example doesn't apply to me :P

However, if I'm in public places I usually just leave the lights on, because I don't like having to feel my way around for a lightswitch, and I doubt others do too. At home it doesn't matter because my family knows where the switches are. It's more of a practical thing than a consideration of enviromental consequences...

I dunno, but I think finding the lightswitch isn't a problem at all, since the lightswitch is always placed close to the door, either on the right or left side, and when you open the toilet door the light outside will illuminate the toilet.

At school, I usually shut the light off when I leave my dorm room. Bathroom light is always on because I don't think most of the guys that I live with know where the light switch is lol (8 people share one bathroom on my floor). I try to save energy whenever I can, especially when I'll be the one paying the bills in the future! :P
