champion
Just out of curiosity, why did you choose to stop watching the show?
Vezon Dash
It was a combination of two things. The first thing being a few people I know who totally ruined the whole "brony" thing for me, and the second thing is the quality of the second season. It was really hit or miss on the episodes. One week's would completely blow me away, and the next week's would suck so bad.
Saradomin_Mage
I don't watch the show anymore, but I'll stand up for a group of people who I used to identify with.Frankly, I don't really identify with most of the fanbase. It seems kind of ... I don't know. They really seem to exalt the show and its developers, but why?I'm just watching it for my own entertainment, and it does get annoying when people find out I watch it, and instantly assume I'm "that kind of guy". a few people I know who totally ruined the whole "brony" thing for meYeah I guess I'm coming close to this. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Vezon Dash
I mean, I still absolutely LOVE the characters on the show.... Hence my avatars and signatures, but the show itself.... That is another story.
turtle drink
In the end I don't care if any of you watch the show or not, but the attitudes and intentions of most people who watch the show seem to be focused on doing it for their own self-image and fitting in rather than just watching the show for their own personal enjoyment. That's one of the main reasons why I hate this show, because grown men try to act cool about watching a show about ponies aimed at little girls. I'm fine if you watch it, that's your opinion, but some bronies need to stop rubbing it in everyone's face. Also I'm sick of it always showing up on my youtube homepage when people I'm subscribed to favourite or like it. I got my rapier :D

"Some people offended my delicate sensibilities so I felt the need to do the same to an group of people only tangentially related to the people who offended me." This is what you are saying. I hope you understand that. But yeah, you sure showed all those "bronies" out there with your super scary story. You pro you. By the way there's an option to only show uploads on the Youtube homepage that's not really hard to find. You should make use of it if seeing a picture and a couple of lines of text makes you oh so angry. sleep like dead men wake up like dead men
Kirschen
It was a combination of two things. The first thing being a few people I know who totally ruined the whole "brony" thing for me, and the second thing is the quality of the second season. It was really hit or miss on the episodes. One week's would completely blow me away, and the next week's would suck so bad. Both of these reasons could apply to me as well (with less emphasis on "a few people" since my case applied to the subculture as a whole) and add that I naturally got bored of the series. Personally, I tried it out just so I could give my judgement and satisfy my curiosity simultaneously. Personally, I wished I never tried out the series to begin with since it made me aware of the brony culture as a whole, mainly the dark half of it. Vezon Dash
I also got into the whole thing before it was a huge fad/meme. So back then, being a brony wasn't a status statement.

-Stary-
Sooooooo.... thisssss needs a bump <3 [creepy video] oh my god ^ LOL this goes perfectly with College Humor's video Also, Rarity is... well a rare gem. Rather obnoxious, a total [bleep]. But, overall she's that "rich popular girl that you're only friend's with because well, she's rich".. Also, to clear up speculation. I somewhat liked MLP [Generation 1-3] but the shows/movies/everything was horrendous. You were afraid to even mention it. But, G4 MLP is honestly a good show.Reasons: Shows true friendship can come from anywhere.Lets you believe in who you can, and will be.Good animations.Great audio.Amazing character development.Great episode development. Honestly, you could watch any show in the first season at least in ANY order and not feel out of place. Also this "Bron[ie/y] subculture was founded on /b/ (/b/pony). And, as like everything it spreads like wildfire. Also, on other forums 'debbie-downers' have stated "disgusting porn" about it, and 'erotic' fictions/forums.... Rule 34 of the internet anyone? There's a porn for everything [including Midgets skateboarding while whistling Yankee doodle?]... The internet meme base upon this is like anything else. Though, you honestly counteract that with "OMG IT'S A LITTLE GIRLS SHOW." So is Dora the Explorer (somewhat)... or Barney... Or anything of the sort. Truthfully if I wasn't a Brony, I'd rather sit through MLP than listen to Dora be confused on which road has the "BAD stuff"... and her screaming "Map map map maaaaaaaap" every 4 seconds. Everyone honestly claims this towards Adventure Time and Fosters [H4IF], which, honestly is true. Regarding the information that can be learned from them. Lastly, the reason why teen aged guys, and middle aged guys like this, is because well *points up to the reasons above* the episodes honestly move so freely, and you honestly will learn something about yourself or understand something so much more. So, to all the haters. WATCH at least 3 episodes, then make a judgement. Otherwise any further discussion about "trolling"/"omg [bleep]"/"wow, this is stupid"/"you're kidding right" will be invalid.. Don't judge a book by its cover.. Or by it's fanbase for that matter...

Honestly, generally 75% of all 'criticism' towards bronies is because it's a girls show. I was having a correlation with Dora.. or Barney. Not directly linking them. [Though, both are educational towards both sexes at a toddler/elementary schooler age].. Also, to clear up speculation. I somewhat liked MLP [Generation 1-3] but the shows/movies/everything was horrendous. Huh? You like the show but you don't like the show...? Generation 1-3 were basically 'shows' which, were honestly little plastic ponies running around. Their movies had no plot. Their fanbase was... well, boring and unconnected. MLP G4 [Friendship is Magic] is honestly a good series. Lauren Faust did other great show (including Power Puff Girls, which, honestly should come back to regular television)... Vezon Dash
Well Lauren Faust isn't making MLP:FiM anymore, which is part of the reason that I loath the show.
-Stary-
Well Lauren Faust isn't making MLP:FiM anymore, which is part of the reason that I loath the show. Actually.. she is.. She's on as a consult. She's currently working on a new project [DC Shorts - Super Best Friends Forever] Though, she has no technical say in the show in the second season, she is still there. Vezon Dash
Not really. I watched maybe the first 5 episodes of season 2 and quit because they were just.... awful. (The season opener with Discord was amazing though because Faust wrote them)

(The season opener with Discord was amazing though because Faust wrote them) Season two is.. well a hit and miss on many many episodes I have to agree. Though, there are some GOOD episodes. The season finale is tomorrow [2 parts]... And, Season 3 IS in production. --- I have to admit, the first season was amazing, the second not so much. But, I'll stand by it and see how far it can go. Vezon Dash
I couldn't give two [bleep]s about the show anymore. There will still always be a place in my heart for the characters, but the writers got too friendly with the older fanbase to produce a quality show. There will still always be a place in my heart for the characters, but the writers got too friendly with the older fanbase to produce a quality show. The older fanbase is the only real reason why this show is still on.. No MLP has ever lasted this long, or has gotten this good reviews. It's HONESTLY the truth about every generation of a genre. Creator develops an amazing story.Animators put the story to life.Everyone starts loving it.$$$$$Need new ideas..*turns to fanbase*Fanbase gives ideas [for their own enjoyment]Fanbase ruins the the story. It's honestly happening with RS right now if you think about it..
Giordano
Rule #1 of TV production: They always go downhill past a certain point. Unfortunately, creators don't have ownership rights after that certain point and can't cancel the show and save their dignity. Fortunately, some people understand this and don't hold it against them. "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is." The show went south after she left, and I don't blame her for that one bit. I really wish that she would have stayed on though.
