lagatag
Its not just natures. The huge demand for cosmic is basicaly the same effect, but it brings no money in. Laws weren't really affected however.
yonman14
Uhh... I don't know about that. The only price change that has occured is the skyrocketing price of cosmics. And thats INflation. Mabye some things will deflate in price, but I doubt anytime soon. Sorry for quoting something from the first page, but that is actually supply and demand, really has nothing to do with inflation. If there is a greater demand for cosmics (which the arena introduced) then since there was a small supply for cosmics, because they had little use, the people who had hoards of cosmics immeadiately after the introduction of the arena could charge more. However, since people are now beginning to craft/doublecraft cosmics, the price will probably drop as the supply is much greater. On topic: I'd have to agree, this is a definate way to drain money from all the alchs. I'd just like to add that also doing the graveyard draws potentially alchers away from producing 768 gps. Hopefully this will bring some raw material prices down (of course with my 88 Fletching I hope that yew longs still stay around 600 gps :)). Nice observation Adam. homer806
I noticed that when I first went to the alching room and I was going to post about but i guess I forgot. The new update has had a funny effect on people in my opinion. People are buying all of the runes needed for this mini-game at above average prices just to waste them on attempting to get some robes. When the update first came out i went to world 1 and bought a bunch of nats, cosmics, laws, and some elemental runes. Then I went to the dueling arena bank and sold them for at least 50 more per rune on the big ones and about 5 more each on the elementals. And i'm saving my 10k nats for yew longs so i can make some money instead of getting 30 fake gp per alch in the mini-game.
RedsoxJH
If the new robes are tradable(i don't know if they are) then why bother buying all the runes for the arena and spend the time getting the pizzaz points for it. :?: RS name: Scoupe123Combat:
i_m_darkness
The hype will probably cool down after a month or less...and things will be back as they were before  don't rely on my opinion, I know almost nothing of economy stuff
tewas
want money drain from worlds: make phat SELLER that sells them for street price. 130 mil per blue and so on. this would stop crazy rares prices, drain whole lot of money for people who are rich enough to afford one :) and at the same time will keep their values, and it will still be wealth symbol :) and about mage arena? i will stay here, cuz it's much more fun to alch there than in some bank listenign how everyone is yelling and stuff :) 1500+ total 89 cmb; 1600+ total and under 93 cmb. 02/04/07 reached all skills 60+ under lvl 90 cmb. 07/19/07 reached all skills 70+ at lvl 93 cmb.Prayer is good for herbs

I really dont think thats a good idea because then there would be less staff to give us nice updates.
sheepdean
1 HUGE thing that not many (but some ) have noticed - if you dolvl 3 alchemy, the unless its the bonus shape, you get 10 expless!!!!!!!! wat a rip. thats y cosmics wentup. oh, and also the infinty robes are causeing huge amounts of cash tp change hands - i saw infinty top go for 5 mil - 500k off 5 d meds???????? ridiculous.and they aint even that good. like granitelegs, they are basically a very small increasde in stats, and jagex's best way to get rid of money would be POS, with 5% of yourmoney going to the shop rubbish, so all the money would slowlywalk away.... Back by popular demand! And I guess I just wanted to tell you, as the light starts to fade, that you aree the reason, that I am not afraid, and I guess I just wanted to mention, as the heavens will fall, that we will be together soon if we will be anything at all. meol
One must remember though, that to not to be inflation, one of two events must happen. 1) Less income in the overall cash. Less money to buy things, but not less things to buy, so, prices drop. OR 2) More items overall. More items to be bought between players, but not more money to buy them, so, prices drop. xJakex
Still have to say the Barrows sets are a bigger money drain. The update will die down, eventually, whereas Barrows will get more popular. I'm Jake Milroy

meili
Yes, very true. Now nats can be used for something other than adding gp to the game. The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
Mythical
There are billions, billions, of nature runes. This will have the smallest - not even note worthy impact. Once jagex starts creating serious sinkholes that cost a few million GP at a time things will have an influence on the economy, and even then it will remain small. The enormousity of the amount of GP fluctuating around is uncountable, this has been so for years already. Nice try perhaps, to create a 'sinkhole' perhaps - but IMO if based upon that point of view, pretty much failed.

Don't EVER talk again. It would benefit everyone around you. I tried this new thing and found it to be a waste. The exp isn't even good. I'd rather spend the extra 20 minutes getting the same exp than losing the cash if i alched long bows. Duke_Freedom
Let's just assume this new mage training place would be and stay popular, what would happen? The demand for nat's would stay the same or rise slightly. There will be less demand for yew longs as people will alch them less now, thus the yew long price will drop. Yew long production may or may not drop as a result of the lower prices, but i personally dont think the production of yew can go down much. Thus we have a static production and yet a decreasing demand of yew longs. Eventually this will make high-alching turn break-even again (opposed to the loss you make by high alching right now) and perhaps even profitable. In turn, this will make normal high alching more attractive again. I doubt it would have much influence on the economy and the gp creation, even if this new mage training place would be popular. The value of my bank at its height. Estimated value at the peak of the rares market: 250 billion+.Most likely the largest trade in RuneScape ever. Well put, Duke. Very little effect on the economy, as the creation of gold would be so little. I was thinking something along those lines as well. There are mass amounts of people alching yews everyday, so you have to figure this will probably increase the amount of people going back to high alching, because they would get more for their money as an outcome. Mabye some things will deflate in price, but I doubt anytime soon. Hardly inflation, that is only a matter of supply and demand. The demand for cosmics used to be low, so supply fell as people stopped making them. Now that the demand has raised again, the supply is inadequate and therefore the price will be higher as people vigh for the runes. After cosmics flood the market again, the price will settle.
