I don't think there's much left to say about the actual topic tbh. There's nothing "wrong" with it, morally.

Pic related.

My opinion of E-Dating is that as long as no one gets hurt, there is nothing wrong with. Too me, it comes across as being a little bit sad, but I can't control what people do.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

I see no relationship here. Please get this Runescape riffraff off my Offtopic

On a less obligatory OT response note, edating is fine on a few conditions that I will not list, as I will surely run into obscure exceptions and/or forget/miss a point. Relationships and bonds can be formed anywhere with anyone. Having an online identity is just as real as the person behind the keyboard. The nature of the relationship, obviously isn't. Meeting people from things like okcupid, or plentyoffish, or match or what have you is perfectly acceptable. Hell, you can even meet people on WoW or Runescape by some odd stroke of chance. It's just as likely to form a real romantic successful relationship as meeting someone in person to be honest. Obviously the whole e-dating thing is just a jumping point though. Can't stay like that too long. Cause...well..that's not going to get very far.

EDIT:

I read some of the middle pages after my post and came across this quote. Something about the username "Naive" QFT'ing a Runescape wedding plan made me lol really hard

Oh btw me and Deo are getting married and you're all invited to our RS wedding.

Sounds pretty pointless to me, but making toy models out of toothpicks is also equally pointless to me; if it gets you through the night then who am I to judge what other people do in their spare time? So long as you're not hurting anyone I don't see a problem.

Who is this guy and what rock has he been hiding under?

Oh hi there, babycakes. I wanted to drop in to see what was going on. I also noticed that Ginger_Warrior was posting again, and I love his posts...so I decided to come back regularly.

+1.

God.. e-dating. Where to begin with this?

I think that talking online with each, disclosing info, personalizing with each other is still a basis for a real relationship. But I still think that sans the meeting each other in real life is unnatural. We have our physical needs and there are a small few who wouldn't want it.

NOW. The other type of first-meeting 'will u be my gf?' e-dating is a complete joke. This guy on runescape met a girl character one day, asked her out on that day. The girl breaks up with him 2 days later and he's all butthurt whining about how she 'broke his heart' and how he loves her. I think these are the type of people that need to segregate reality from fantasy and these guys will get taken advantage of by 16 year old lads :P To quote my sister, "It's funny to see these people get hurt."

Sounds like Facebook relationship posts.

My girlfriend and I met online, shared a common hobby and met on a forum pertaining to that. Known each other for 6 years now with plans for a future together. Couldn't ask for a better relationship and after getting to know her wanted nothing else to do with anyone else. And yes, physical contact is so much better. Like someone said earlier, if its a starting point sure by all means, but if it stays as an e-girlfriend or e-boyfriend then I wouldn't suggest it.

First off: there is a difference in this so-called e-dating. Adding a girl from facebook from your general area and getting to know her etc etc I really wouldn't consider cyber dating. The whole MMORPG dating thing is frankly laughable in my eyes. I mean its good and all to make friends on a game but holding an ingame marriage is pathetic. I mean half the time you meet someone on RS that is a girl char they end up being a guy behind the keyboard... I mean honestly what would your rl friends think of you if you say "oh yeah I'm in a loving relationship with a girl......on runescape". If I ever said that to any of my friends (not that I would stoop that low as to dating on a computer game) but they would beat the [cabbage] outta me. Call me cruel, insensitive, whatever. But I hold strong bilefs (spelling?) against this, ESPECIALLY with some of the cases I've seen on the news/net over the years of pedophiles sexually abusing innocent kids they met online. /rant
