Recent games barely made the list because they're just copies of these top games. Nintendo populates the list from NES to GameCube. They're the pioneer of video games :P

It's a crime that Final Fantasy 7 beat Final Fantasy 6 on the list. Sure, it sold more copies due to being on the Playstation, but it hardly comes even close to being a better game. Ugh.

BIG SWORDS DO NOT MAKE A GOOD GAME! STORYLINE AND SOLID CHARACTERS DO!

Go Nintendo! Im happy that they release such great games, compared to violent bloody crap-fests that Sony and Microsoft love.

I've played about 20 of the 30 games on there, I'd say it's a list I can pretty much agree with.

IMO, the only thing that shouldn't be there is Halo.

I like the storyline of the first Halo. It was true to the books, and was very compelling. The second one looked like it was feeding off its own success. Im not sure, since Microsoft doesnt seem to be making a version for PC.

EDIT: They said Final Fantasy II came out in 1991...thats the year Final Fantasy 4 came out (Final Fantasy I in the US). Interesting fact finding.

goldeneye 007 who hasn't played that!? it was kind of the halo of then.

loved it :)

Halo, sure it's a fad but it's still a good bring your friends over and play :) so that makes it score higher, auto.

I can only assume Pong is #31

Nope

"10. Pong , Arcade ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãââ 1972"

And are those Mario games really that good? Surely they must get repetitive, I've only played a few and granted those were great, but so many in the top 30?

I'm a little disappointed Ocarina of time wasn't better than #8. Sure other games were more "groundbreaking", but weren't more enjoyable. I'd enjoy any game over Pong any day... Pong sucks!

That's what they put in the magazine.

Halo was based off a book?

Halo is based off of a 4-book series. Halo: Combat Evolved takes place during the second book, and Halo 2 takes place during the third and beginning of the fourth.

Actually, the books are based off of the game. The second book takes place during Halo:CE, the 3rd is between Halo:CE and Halo 2, and there is no 4th book to cover Halo 2. (Really, really good books though! Read Fall of Reach!)

Bah....Nintendo tends to be all about pressing random buttons and trying to get lucky with combos

Not really....well, actually, it's the true, but that makes nintendo games fun :P

i found the single or co-op story in the first halo to be fairly good, i liked the story in it better than in any other fps. but the best part of that list is tetris, i am in love with tetris. well, you can just take it from there.

If they haven't included the PC then you can't take the list seriously.

EGM does not care about black PCs.

Besides, PC Games != Video Games.

His point still stands.
