shade_bandyt Posted January 17, 2006 Share Posted January 17, 2006 blah. when i was f2p i totally stopped ranging after level 41. there is absolutely no reason to raise range beyond thet. you dont get better bows or armor, and all you do is hie harder, which is god, but hardly worth it. f2p is really a scaled down verson of p2p, especially in pking. in members you can hit harder in every type of attack, with better weapons, arrows or spells. keeping all 3 attack styles limited in f2p makes sure that the triangle stays balanced other than that, forsakenmage points out the best reasons why fletching is not and should not be a f2p skill. we have no access to arrow heads or flax, and you cause ripples into other skills. the arrow market would be non-existent. Are you a member with a full bank and cancelling your subscription? Are you an F2P player that wants more bank space? Lord_Muijs Posted January 17, 2006 Share Posted January 17, 2006 no, no and NO! you already get WAY MORE then what you pay for. how did you contribute to the paying of the programmers of fletching? you didnt. how do you contribute to the costs of the servers? you dont. you get a lovely game for free. yes you can say: "we see t3h ads!!! z0mg!! th4t pays tw000!!!" guess what? those ads give jagex like 20 cents a month per player (provided that player plays like 8 hours a day), not NEARLY enough to pay for the server costs of that player. stop whining, or get members. I agree with you there, and sadly that's how most of the F2P and P2P debate topics end because people do not calmly and rationally tell each other their reasonings behind their arguments. It makes topics like this more interesting if people would avoid the flames, step back for a moment and think of the other person's perspective before actually typing something... I can see why some people tend to grow flamey though. Sadly there are individuals who will continually beg for stuff, and this isn't just in games, this is in real life as well. You try to teach, they either learn or they don't. It is frustrating to see both sides complain, rant, whine, etc. without any clear reasons to help support their arguments, and I guess we more or less end up blend into it. Stallion4589 Posted January 19, 2006 Share Posted January 19, 2006 this is so heading towards a flame war. hey, even my comments to keep the flaming and pointless posts down were flamed. i guess thats what happens when you try to have a sensible discussion in here. every p2per comes in and whines about how the f2pers are whining about free stuff. and bubsa, why should i have to search? tell the creator of this topic to search next time. so far the only replies have been: no, you're f2p; its a demo; this has been posted a million times etc etc. does anybody wanna read through a several month old post? and maybe thats why the author of this topic created the topic, every other topic was several months old. i can understand it a similar discussion was created within several days, or was on the same page, but honestly, give us a break. and then, some guy does seach, post in an old topic, and gets flamed for bumping a several month old post. damned if you do, damned if you dont. nice. F2p mages may be able to runecraft, but they they get 3 classes of attack spells (strike, bolt, and blast), whereas the ranger get 5 classes of arrows (bronze, iron, steel, mith, addy). also, if you were to incorporate fletching at any level into f2p, it should be restricted to bronze arrows only. Why? because f2p mages can only craft the lowest level of attack runes, minds. Also, rangers should not be able to fletch bows, since a) its pointless maple costs like 400 gp only and is usually in stock, and B) mages can't make staves. I have always disliked the mentality of certain members because they feel so much better. That's why I don't fletch myself, but I encourage it to be F2P. Not the whole skill, but at least arrowmaking... I don't want to be able to make bows and other member stuff. But being able to smith your own arrow tips and then fletch arrows... Lets_3ekout Posted January 19, 2006 Share Posted January 19, 2006 you realise how much money you could make in f2p, not to mention how easier it would be to get mage lvls? also it would make rangers overpowered in my opinion. besides just another thing to auto, in my opinion f2p is practicly a2p, auto to play, that may generalise but i just went to f2p and i swear nearly everyone i saw autoed (was mining ess and wlaking around varrock n yews). it would just lower the prices of logs, bows, arows. NO just ruining another great skill thats highly popular and used. dont you think f2p have enough? heck if jagex sliced f2p in HALF then there would still be more then they should have. they pay nothing and therefore should get nothing new. how can that not make sense? if that doesnt make sense then your greed for free things has taken over you. But if Jagex wouldn't make profits out of it they wouldn't not run so many free servers. The advertisements and the contracts running bring up loads of cash for Jagex. Plus we also do something back for the RS community. If there are glitches we also make sure Jagex is informed about it. We also report cheaters, flamers and scammers and so on... And last but not least...
