Plus it's the storylines with good artwork that's like able.Yes, but what I don't understand is that people who like anime seem to like all anime. I find it very hard to believe that every single anime has a good storyline, infact from what I've seen only a few seem to have what I would classify as a good storyline and of course this is the same with animation as well.I like Star Trek: TNG, The Big Bang Theory, Reaper, Russell Howard's show. All live-action things, but I can't stand others. With anime people seem to love pretty much all anime regardless of the story or animation, just because its anime. I think it's just something that has grown on us when we say we like anime, whether we like it all or not. (Not sure how someone can like every single thing anime though. Well, you could say "I like Musical-Theatre" or "I like Documentaries" or "I like Webcomics" ect.Its probably not true that of the three aforementioned our hypothetical person would like ALL of them, no matter what the form, but people would regardlessly say it. Also in a more general sense "I like Fantasy" or "I like Sci-Fi" or "I like Spy-Drama", they merely denote wide groupings of shows that the person finds interesting, compared to other, similar, groupings.For instance a person will often say "I like Fantasy more than Sci-Fi" or visa versa, they might love both Star Trek and Lord of the Rings, but they have made the conscience decision/deduction that they prefer one genre over another. It is comparatively expediant to say 'I like Anime', as opposed to 'I like this show, and this show and this one, and that one, and this one, that one, this one, that one, the other one, especially this one, more especially that one, not that one, but this one yes, this one is also good' ect. Also, 15th century France isn't exactly ancient. Apart from the art-style it seems pretty much the same as other forms of media.People always say 'I like anime' but you never hear people say 'I like live-action', people often don't like ALL like action but it seems different with anime.I think it has to do with similarities in art style; not unlike how one can favor the works of a particular artist over others. Reality is just reality, one can certainly enjoy live-action stuff but it's too familiar. Too similar to real life for out minds to just classify as art, instead I think we tend to judge and calculate the situation like we do with our lives, and categorize it accordingly. Also, anime is fairly niche. You can know what to expect, to a certain degree (though a change of pace, done well, can have all the more impact on fans). Beyond that. Leiana, I wish you luck. Though it's sounds like you just described an anime and then negated, I assume, most of it's core elements. :rolleyes: I think more anime series could do without the overdone, overly-sexualized aspect. And I, not a fan of scanty stuff, know better than to have any respectable character of mine in such an outfit. I'm not even gonna really talk about Shitsurakuen, just that my story is kinda like it (mainly the whole female knight bit, not the other stuff that is depicted through the drawings). And for gods sake, I will never have a character featured here that is in such a predicament like those in Shitsurakuen! See, I'm not that dumb. The main reason they lost was that they instituted a democracy in the late 18th century, and after some minor victories in Europe, got totally owned by the British and Prussians.
