Seeing the reactions here, i think my initial estimate was a bit too reserved...

Only NOW do some players know about this good food...

Prices may vary well run as high as 4k, or stay as low as 2k...

They may indeed sell for more, depending how well the makers want to be paid for all the time they put in...

Im afraid we havent seen the end of the shockwaves this new food has sent through runescape

but I think an estimate price of ~3-4K wouldn't even be that unrealistic.

Master merchant d00k said 3-4k THATS THE PRICE !!

Personally I'm rather impressed by these new potatoes, but considering how hard they are to make, I think supplys will be low and prices will be high (maybe 5k per?)

Just think, theres maybe only a few people who will consider making these things in mass, even then they will be making way less per hour compared to fishing and cooking shark.

If these can be sold for about 4k each, I might consider making them, 250 of them at 4k each would be 1M, now thats serious cash for a fisher/cook that is not up to shark yet, to get 1M from raw lobbys, you need to sell 4k at 250 each.

blazesigbq9.jpg

I cooked a bunch of them... but I did not even bother trying to sell them... perhaps I should!

if some people are interested...

When you come down to it, its all about making more than other forms of money making, such as runecrafting (400k an hour) and green dragon killing (400k an hour)

Considering that most players who make these would have the option to runecraft or kill dragons for money, it comes down to one question: can you make 400k an hour baking potatoes?

Ofcourse people will be willing to sacrifice some profit for exp, or ease of money making.

Eg, shark fishing might be incredibly bad for money, but they are quite easy to get, simply by afking on the fishing spot and checking every so often, as opposed to runecrafting, where you have to be 100% concentrated and look out for pesky pkers at all times.

its hard to judge what you can make per hour...

you can farm the sweetcorn while farming herbs, so virtually no time loss there...

and cooking 4 invents (for the 100 per hour we're trying to match, asuming theyre gonna sell at 4k) doesnt take long at a..

same for the tuna fish, you get them anyways while quite possibly also fish for swordfish (do you get tuna too when sharkfishing?)

So then its chopping the whole bunch in a bowl, which wont take long either, just a lot of carefull clicking...

adding the butter to 100 picked and baked potatoes wont take long either

so it comes down to churning the butter...

can you churn 100 butter in under 30 minutes (estimating here)...

Nope... but you can get it for free on the docks sometimes (or could before now... though on f2p those that fish swordies will still drop).[/b]

Just a tip. If you're collecting potatoes, use 17 sacks and everytime your inventory gets 10 potatoes, fill up a sack. Makes potato collecting go alot faster.

lets do some calculation, depending on the amout of space in you inventory for p2p pk you times that by the number of hp the food heals.

take for example you took 20 food

sharks: amt x hp healed = 20 x 20 = 400hp healed

tuna-potatoes: amt x hp healed = 20 x 22 = 440hp healed

440 - 400 = 40hp healed extra, about 0.9% more

but i reckon its best to buy ingredients, else you'll be spending too much time for that extra 0.9%

Nighthawkpro(level-126)

It is 10% extra healing, not 0.9%

22 / 20 = 1.1 = 110% so 10% extra food

the fact that you take 20 items of food means you got 20 * 2 extra hp of foodage with you...

and 40 extra hp is as much as carrying 2 extra sharks :)

You didnt read what i said though... because im asking if its a bug what i can do. Use sweatcorn with a bowl, then just use tuan with the same bowl and it makes the mixture.

i agree with duke saying that the price is likely to be way up there due to the time it takes to make the things...

Steviej.png

My account spent most of the last 10 months "locked"

and also the fact that it will be hard to find in bulk... because of the sweetcorn...

hiryuuko

Everyone can make potatoes (almost)

A lot of people are thinking this is going to be a huge money maker, so there I'm guessing there's going to be a flood in the market.

Alot of people won't pay that much more for a 10% difference.

When the market floods, I'm guessing that the price is going to be the same as sharks. And then when it settles out, I'm thinking its going to be less than 2k each.

And I'm guessing. Someone should pull this thread up in 2 months and see how we all did. Hehehe.

A circus in Runescape?? Oh my.

REMEMBER RUNESCAPE KARMA! Be a nice player, and nice things will come back to you.

I'm back, add me if you deleted me. :)

I would be glad to sell them for 2k each  As I cook from scratch that is a good benefit! but, if some people are ready to buy at 5k... even for a month or 2, that is GREAT!!

No one wants to buy from me.
