Assume Nothing
I couldn't find any other related threads that it could fall under, so I figure it wouldn't be a terrible idea to make a new one for it. There are tons of things that we discover about random things, like @Randox's post here: "If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct tape." - someone someplace? I think super glue needs to be added to the universal tool belt. Just not sure how to fit it in. Super glue is wonderful for fixing the human body. It makes a great substitute for stiches in a pinch (or on the battle field), and it can mend nails, and all kinds of non human based trinkets as well. For not the first time in my life, I stubbed my toe and broke my big toe nail, and used super glue to hold it all together. My best repair was the last one though where almost the entire front third of the nail came off side to side. Took two applications (one to set it, and one to give it enough strength that it could stand up to socks and nail clippers), but I got it back on. The real trick is making sure you get the nail exactly where it used to be, or it feels super weird. And once its cured, the stuff isn't water soluble (though a few months in your mouth will dissolve it, which I found out after using it to repair a cracked a retainer), so it doesn't come off in the shower. Just wonderful stuff. What amazing thing have you discovered recently? Do note that it could be as trivial as you'd like. I just discovered that glue is a great way to get rid of splinters - just apply it on top, let dry, and peel it off.

obfuscator
I think these kinds of threads are pointless...there's no discussion to be had, just mindless blabbering...and we already have the today and the "annoy" thread for that.. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
muggiwhplar
Whether or not there's discussion to be had shouldn't necessarily determine the meaningfulness of the thread. If people find the thread informative, then that's reason enough to justify its existence.
obfuscator
A thread is a vehicle for discussion...my main point is that we already have a thread that could easily contain this kind of material. There is still a little bit of the core left. I never just eat the strawberries raw, so I usually cut the cores out when I use them in cooking. TTanT
^Or just yank on the stem and watch it unravel perfectly. If you want to jump around without it being loud, land on your toes and bend your legs into a squat as you land. This'll turn something that'd normally shake a house into a quiet landing. It also is a good way of absorbing the shock of a fall, as long as it isn't higher than the roof of a one story building (if it is you'll smash your tailbone into the ground and break it, probably). Also, the sneakiest way to move fast? Bend your knees as mucha s possible and speed walk. Bent legs= long strides= fast, and although it isn't as fast as running it's way quieter as you aren't jumping. Disadvanatge is it looks really silly. decebal
I open it from the "wrong end". It's all about doing a clean pinch. After that, the banana unravels symmetrically, without having a stem hanging around, in the way.

RpgGamer
Is your key fob low on battery? Can you not scan the parking lot pressing the button hoping to hear your car chirp causing you to lose your car? FEAR NOT! because if you hold it under your chin and press it against your jaw pointing toward the top of your head, it'll magnify the signal and allow you to lock/unlock your car from unbelievable distances! why? Because the signal resonates within your skull and then gets sent out from a much larger source [your head verse the small little fob]. And no, it won't cause cancer haha. Oh look you made another thread based off of something in askreddit. AHA! I'm not the only one to catch on to this haha. Plus we like a lot of the same music. I like you champion. You're good people. Ginger_Warrior
Vaseline can be used to close pretty deep wounds in a pinch.Except it doesn't apply pressure to the wound, and it can't miraculously stitch a broken blood vessel back together. So, basically, instead of the blood being outside of the body, inducing shock, you now have the blood inside the body inducing shock and also causing a haematoma. Brilliant advice. How about, if you're anywhere near a restaurant or a big public building, it's almost certainly a legal requirement on their part to have a first aid kit with a large dressing? Or 999? What you meant to say is that petroleum jelly has (some minor) wound healing properties, but it's not a substitute for basic emergency wound care. 1 | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

Riku3220
I'm curious to know what situation you'd be in to have a jar of Vaseline but no basic medical supplies but whatevs.
Cheat
Right - I obviously don't recommend going 'Oh look at that nasty gash you've got there lets quickly smack some vaseline on that and bung it right up!' also its not some miraculous piece of equipment its not going to close up that deep gash the maniac with the katana gave you but its still pretty good for closing deeper wounds to risk of infection (after washing etc..). Its used because Vaseline has a hell of a lot of uses so for instance in a small combat team (Scout Snipers or Special Forces) its easier to carry and more versatile than your suture kit. Ginger_Warrior
...so would a piece of clean cloth tied over the wound. I'm interested to know how you would apply this Vaseline without directly inserting your fingers into the wound as well. I suppose said Special Forces team might carry a set of Nitrile gloves just in case too. Whatever... I don't want to derail what's actually quite an interesting thread. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |
