If this works (lol) can we get rid of random events?

But then where will I get free Prayer xp? :P

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

I agree, Kaida. 3-strikes is too much for bots. Especially since the majority are throw away goldfarming accounts. All the RWTers have to do is bot until they get 2 warnings, transfer the GP to a mule

I would prefer one strike. I also hope that one of two things happens: it detects bots very quickly, or two it detects computers so if you bot on a 2nd account or create a new account and bot that it nukes you instantly, so that you can't just create throw-away accounts and wait for 2nd strike to wear off and manually transfer gold in person to a new mule.. Less efficient but it all depends on how long the bans are and how fast a bot gets detected.

And yea, I'd shit bricks too if the arrow pointed at me...

3 strikes? Are they mad? Can we remove the strikes for 500 runecoins?

You're late. We get accused every day by random levels who are angry about losing the current round.

Nobody ever seems to complain about us when the team is winning, mind. :P

The video was made private. Ugh.

hzvjpwS.gif

You can still view it, just gotta view via Runescape's channel on YT, for some reason it comes up as private through the embedding

That's because it's a different upload, the first one was plagued with dislikes so they privated it real quick-like. The new one appears to be faring better. Haha, what if they put a rating bot on their own video

I'll probably have a giant dragon hand pointing down at me for the next month or so. I'm currently firemaking on World 1, and there's a giant stack of people exactly in the same spot as me. This will be fun.

ok, one problem..where is the ban hammer?!?! :(

True, I think any non-botter who gets a finger above his or her head will have a slight panic attack though. :P

And considering cwars loafing is so afk.. I mean I play PS3 while hitting the arrow key on my keyboard so the game won't log off L

If the bay works on other player's accusing each other of botting alone then the system will be amazingly flawed. Only players that have been detected by the anti-bot program Jagex operates should face the bay. If I am going to get accused of botting while afk fletching every 10 minutes I'll be pissed. And what stops players accusing another just so they can take there slayer spot etc. so many potential issues here...

No player accusations are taken into account. Players are the ones who choose the graphical punishment of the bot. That is all.

If the bay works on other player's accusing each other of botting

It doesn't. It doesn't, it doesn't, it doesn't. Of course such a concept would be terribly flawed. Where do people get this idea from? I've seen this question asked a dozen times over the forums already....

That is very good news then, disregard my previous post :)

What I don't like with botany bay is that the botter basically becomes an npc. He's not actually at his computer, watching himself getting banned. It would have been a lot funnier that way.

Let's say Bob is botting and gets caught. Next time he logs in, he's at botany bay getting banned. Then we could watch his reactions, OMG wtf, what's happening, noooooooo, etc.

This would need support to have many botters in bottany bay at once, not just one, maybe put them in cages.

Without the human aspect it's just three fancy banning animations, after everyone gets their emotes and forks nobody's gonna go back there.

I also like the idea that the botter could go through 'trials' to have a marginally lessened sentence eg. battle royale with other botters, or wait for a certain amount of time in a cell, play cheese roll down the hill x2000, etc. And then after that instead of getting banned he could, for instance, have his character/bank completely wiped and be back at lvl 3. Basically the same as starting over, but he gets to keep his name, friend-list, etc. There's an infinite amount of ways they could make this far more entertaining.

I suppose the certificate update earlier yesterday was to detect botting softwares on your computer. Not sure what this means for AHK users, myself included, but I would say we would be pretty safe. What is the HLF community saying about this?

Is anyone else concerned about the "unrestricted access" portion of that? Why would it need complete access to my entire computer?

They had complete access before, as long as they're running as administrator. Usually they aren't, and therfor only have access to whatever you do without clicking the UAC dialog "Yes".

Most likely it is either just default, or they need it for detecting bot software.
