SirHartlar
I personally think it is better to have a filter, as it encourages a higher standard of speech. For younger players (such as myself) it is also a good way to teach respect for other people and how to interact nicely. I think taking away the filter would just ruin the game with unneccessary swearing. It's bad enough that people already bypass the filter anyway. Lep
You know what's REALLY sad? You got your first 3 posts in this crappy rant... Unless you're eminem, you don't need to swear all the time.
Nintendo01
Actually, I've heard some ppl in the RS forums saying that they are 8 or 9, so it's not true that only ppl 13+ play RS. And even though i'm 16, I don't want the censor changed anyway. I don't like people cussing in real life, unless it's a real good reason.
SaidinWoT
I personally view cursing as the inability of a person to intelligently display their feelings, and as such do not appreciate curse words in the least. I'd rather the censor stay firmly in place. Add your blog to the BlogScape Index!SaidinWoT can now be tracked easily on weekends - Erm, maybe when I start playing again.Levels do not measure intelligence OR maturity. Justinuk1
No matter how hard runescape tries there will always be players under 13, Age is'nt really important, its maturity that makes a person. If you can't think of anything better to do then cuss, your not mature. And i'm sure there are alot of adults who don't like the amount of swearing there already is. Blazer2255
I say those who curse just have a really small vocab and dont know any better words so if there so uneducated that they cant use appropriate English then they shouldnt be playin in the first place! jesster
RS need not to do anyting to the filter but update it more. Swearing doesn't mean you have a little vocabulary. Take me fo instance, I swear when people have it coming and also I'm a slow typer so using my big words takes to long to type and the speech bar(s) are far to short. Giordano
I just want the BAD WORDS to be filtered, not like Hello, do you want yews? That would come out liek this: Hello, wo*****u like yews? fishmech
Oh yes, we really need a filter in this game! After all, it's not like they've never heard curse words before!

bluebell1
people have already found a way around the filter so if it udated then people will find a way around it again. the filter is good but could use a little tuneing up to catch edited swears. TWIKK89
the filter isn't really that good.... if i say grass like "wow!! now the grass looks so real!! they're going to edit out the last 3 letters... makes me angry and really, the filter is pretty much as bad as my boarding school is... and our filter makes us go crazy.... Sorry for the off-topicness, but is that the god for Pastafarians? I've heard so much about these cultists/teenagers/people

dabestkillas
do you guys remember way back when u started playing runescape2 ? where you had to chose your age ? i wish that when for example you chose age 18-30 (for example) wen you swear something really rude only a player your age can read that and younger players will still see it as the good old "*****" , and one more thing ... the filter needs tweaking because when i say (selling nats!!!) it takes the nats and the exclamations as the word (natsi) which we all know what it means !! that is so sucky .. what i want to say is that the filter needs tweaking in both fields .. making it block rude words that have been changed (like shoit) and making it understand what the player really meant (nats!!!) ( nats are nature runes)
matthewmjw
well they should make the filter alittle lower because you cant say "has short bow" i think it turns into "h****hort bow"

evanboy70
Nah, Jagex should try blocking only the actual words for just a while, then start blocking the most commonly bypassed ones. I can't see saying "Selling Steel Bars, 550 each" as offensive, but it comes out as "Selling Steel B*******0 each". Why I would try to sell my Steel rear end is beyond me. Wow, that's sig worthy. Anywho, swears should remain blocked, I don't care how 'mature' you think rs players are, most of them are juvenilles, and take runescape vocab as real. You have no idea how many times I've heard kids say "lawl" (as in lol) in public. People just need to learn to share crabs.I'd prefer my nether regions clear of diseases, thank you very much.just turn off accept aids
Kierte
In some cases, though, there's just no solution. If you allow "gay", then you have everyone using it to insult people. But I can't state as a fact that I'm a lesbian without horribly butchering the English language. *=lezzy The filters are preventing me from talking about the filters. Grr...
