Greatsilverwyrm
oh thx guys, such a quick response, plus im off to bed now.. maybe i'll grab a book, does it have to be an interesting one or boring? Im guessin it'll keep me up if I get too interested.. I've actually found that the opposite is true. Uninteresting books simply bore me, which makes me tend to think about other things while reading, which I would guess then adds more mental stimulus to reading, which would be more stimulus than just reading. DragonFirenze
Here in australia, most people have fans in their rooms. Its really quite soothing, the noise is just enough to drown out the normal night time sounds, but still quiet enough to get to sleep. I have a water cooler which is nice, it creates my own little sleeping environment :D . Before i used to wake up easily, but now i can sleep through a train wreck :P Lvl 80 construction. And about the keeping you up thing, well for me, my eyes get too tired for the book to keep me up, so I just give up and start sleeping. terley
Yeah I had a great sleep last night.. pity I slept in till 2 pm :(, I dun know why I did, usually im just up early.. Just waking up in the afternoon is really weird for me.. Maybe its a sign that my body needed the rest? 8) I couldn't find a good book though, im not in a 'reading' family, mostly just books set to aim for the under 5's audience.. I am constantly active, usually I go for a jog or something around 10ish, you do need an hour to relax and a nice cold shower, otherwise you'll be rolling in bed all night uncomfortably.. Im guessin my bad sleeping is down to my broken bed, the frame's snapped and it's supported be a cardboard box  .. I'll start savin :x . thx for the advice everyone, I've learned a lot :D . mmm, horlix... ok.
knives669
I make sure that I don't drink any caffeine at least two hours before trying to sleep. Then, I simply get into bed and watch TV with all the other lights out until I get tired. I used to have huge problems sleeping as well, until I got off the caffeine. :D

Fabricant
I like classical music, it relaxes the soul.....OMG i love classical. Reading is good to sleep, it makes me tired. I have been awake for over 40 hours due to my brother that snores loudly until he stopped after i kept hitting him if he did.... Try doing activites in the day. On the weekends i stay up more because of all the activites......well, im out of ideas and if you dream of yourself "using" the toilet, you probably have wet the bed.......I still remember the time i did years ago. Dai jou bui! gonpost
If you really want to fall asleep, you have to stop thinking. For instance, I will stay up forever unless I force myself to stop thinking. Try putting aside some time in your day to think while you're awake. Thinking is a very important excercise for everyone. You'll get good practice at controlling your thoughts. Ultimately, you can develop a stronger mind through practicing that. Willpower. :) For another possibility, you might be agitating yourself since you can't fall asleep. Though it seems ironic, your frustration at your inability to fall asleep may be rooted in the very fact that you make yourself frustrated because you can't fall asleep! Just relax. jabraulter
You could always read. Reading right before going to bed always makes my eyes tired, and I usually fall alseep at once after reading. Yes. Read. Get your history book and begin to read the chapter your class was assigned. You'll be asleep after the first two pages. Almost 100% guarunteed.

Peter
I just watch TV and usually at the same time every night i get really tired and just turn the volume down low and put it on sleep. I dont know why but I have a hard time falling asleep without the TV on. Music doesn't do it for me either, I don't know why. One thing a lot of experts say to do is have the same sleep schedule, even on weekends. So don't go to sleep at 1 am if you normally are alseep at 10. Also try to wake up at the same time. I totally disregard that and my school schedule has me waking up at the same time, weekend or not. But if you don't do that what happens is you oversleep on Saturday night and on Sunday night you're not tired enough to sleep, so you stay up later and on Monday you have to get up early for school/work or whatever. Sleeping pills make me so incredibly drowsy in the morning, so I usually don't take them because the rest of the day I have trouble waking up completely. ForsakenMage
I highly do not recommend drinking yourself to sleep. That's just asking for future damage to your liver. Personally I find it a lot easier to sleep with something you can hold, like a teddy bear (heh, I still sleep with one) or a pillow. Just something soft and reasonably large enough to hold. One thing I used to do as a kid to fall asleep was to just kind of pretend I was some sort of character in a story/movie/etc. All that work of the imagination can really make one tired sometimes. :P Adventurer's Log || YouTube || Facebook || Tip.it Times Work || Wanna Join the Editorial Panel?Maxed Out 01 October 2012 PDT

Yeah, sometimes I also think of stuff and it takes forever to fall alseep. I try to force myself to stop thinking, but then I start thinking "stop thinking, stop thinking," which is annoying, so I start thinking of something else, and then it just goes on in a cycle till I fall alseep. How2PK
I alwaus listen to relaxing music, that usually works. If that doesn't work I put on some slow complicating movie for half an hour, then put it off and I sleep like a baby.
