does anyone of you knows how to get a 40 kilo dog downstairs thats scared?

Technically, commas are used in language to express an area where the reader is supposed to pause. The comma works there too. :wink:

 

 

 

This works with my dog: Just try and scare it from behind. That way, it just runs down the stairs on its own.

never had a dog, so i dont know for sure, but i remember somebody saying dogs cant walk downstairs. if you try to get it to, the dog will probably just kind of fall down them.

Our dog can walk down the stairs on it's own, but it's only 8 kilos and it looks more like a controlled stumble than an actual walk.

My grandma's dog is about 40 KG and it has got no trouble of walking down the stairs.

 

 

 

Just get him stringed (you know, just like when you walk him) and get him down.

If that doesn't work, I'd like to second the idea of greasing the top two or three stairs then pushing the dog. (Just make sure there's something soft for it to land on at the bottom.)

Couldn't you just... Carry her down the stairs? I know I had to do that for my dog a couple times when she injured her leg and was afraid to go up or down stairs.

It happend to my last dog, only in reverese. She got real scared because the family friend she most loved yelled at her and she was scared for the rest of her life to go upstairs, never would.

 

 

 

What i suggest is either the bacon, or chease. Dogs love chease, and they also love penutbutter. If all else fails, leash it and try and pull downstairs, dont trip it though.

anyway he's downstairs(took 5 hours)

 

he just wanted the cookies on the stairs so he put's his front legs on the stair and i just lured him down with more cookies

OT: I wouldn't try and force her. One of my old dogs had a phobia of stairs, but mind you it was only a Jack Russell, so we could pick him up :P Anyway, forcing or tricking her might make her distressed, which could cause all kinds of troubles. Just let it go downstairs in its own time. Chances are it's just a little apprehensive and after learning to go down the stairs herself she won't feel so nervous again in the future. Well, that's what happened with my dog anyway.
