example: I'm happily chatting in Dutch with my real-life friend, and i try to say "me too" in dutch (thats "ik ook") and it's censored. Very often a whole sentence i try to say is blocked. yet, the fowlest words I've ever seen in my language can be happily said. I've seen quite a lot of people saying stuff about jewish people and the events of WWII in a rather nasty way.

the word noob acually used to be censored, but like everything else people found ways around it, just like how "w t f" was.

i hate it when they filter just normal things...

Is he TBed gets censored which is quite annoying, I can see why it's there but I don't think it should be. Also speaking in other languages gets censored alot and especially finnish :cry:

and in one of my recent posts on this site, i ended with a typical english expression of stoic acceptance of an unwelcome and dull task, ie, "{aitch oh} hum"....which came up as "gardening implement hum"....

But honestly, it serves a purpose, it is there because there used to be a lot of flaming in the graveyard section with players calling each other [people selling their bodies].

Samittaja, I feel your pain, Estonian gets alot of censoring too.

 

 

 

I'm actually impressed, that so many of you support the Jagex's cencoring system. The game is rated 13+ now, it would be good to let the censoring system keep up with that. If anybody wants to curse you, he/she will just bypass the system and if you are this silly person who gets offended easily, you still get offended!

 

 

 

And the website censoring, that's just lame. We are playing a game and relaxing, we want to chat and share information, why stop that? We aren't in a strict work enviroment in wich we only have to get our stats up and get rich, and I'm sure that there aren't many people who roleplay and find "messages from the real world" offensive. Other games that are as available to young minds as RS don't have these censores, so why should RS stop me from calling goblins small bastards (bastard gets blocked, easy to avoid in the game tho)?

If i write "lez" it doesn't get censored, if i write "rulez" it says "ru***", but if i write "r ulez" or something similar, it won't bleep... lol

"ea" is'nt in jagex's dictionary, the numbers = nothing, so it bleeps the word arse in bars 600 ea

you can say limparse on the game and its ok, but it was my username and i got banned for the name??

here are a few odd ways around the censoring of the a word.....

 

 

 

@$$ is censored, but @ss or a$$ isnt...

 

or most peoplke just go with asse, because that isnt censored either.....

 

 

 

 

 

another funny one, i found out that"About 40k" comes out as "abo******"

 

 

 

and odly whenever you select "chase vermin" with you cat your character screams out "go puss! catch the rat", but puss is censored if you try to say it normaly

 

 

 

 

yea i dont really get y jagex has blocked out sum words like sumtimes u need 2 say sumthin but it blocks it out

Yeah I have the same problem when I try say to a friend come (=kom) it gets blocked. Well I know that its just like com but still, I use the word all the time when I talk in Dutch. And you can , like you said, say all the dirty words without getting blocked. We can't even say "kook" (cook) it's really annoying!

It also blocks "selling ring of life 10k"!!! This made me mad cus i got like 20 in my bank that i cant sell......... :x
