The internet is creating some of the smart mother [bleep]ers on this planet. I consider myself somewhat of a smart person (I smoke marijuana, so cut my intelligence in half :)).

The internet is teaching kids to explore new boundries. You cant complain. Right now we are in a generation of intelligent kids. And I believe, myself, that the internet is the great cause of this. If there was no internet, there would be half the number of new things being discovered. The internet opens a whole new gateway.

Excuse me if you cant understand what im saying, im somewhat intoxicated

I second that.

The only thing that bothers me about them is that any 10 year older you find will think he's cooler than you.

When I was 10 years old, I used to respect the older "teens".

When I was 10 I used to be scared of the older teens.

Hey wait, I still am!

But seriously, I'm glad it is coming up to summer again. I have wasted my whole easter holiday sitting my bottom in front of the PC and frankly I'm ashamed of myself. Sure, I had some good times on RS, but I wish I had chosen to go play with my friends when they came to the door instead of saying no.

I realise now why my parents restrict my time on the PC in the school term and I feel more grateful now. I'm going to get out more and become a better person.

Hey, just 'cos my trousers fell down it doesn't diminish the climatic and emotional importance of my post.

with or without the internet the kids are getting more and more messed up anyway.

First we have goth kids...then the emo kids. Cheaper version of goth but more annoying. they have piercing on their face, a tattoo somewhere.

The white trying to be black thing gimmick, those respect, hugging stuff.

we have 11 years old dying their hair purple, pink. and all those ridiculous hair cut. Little girls dress up like one of the spice girls.

whats next?

... whatever, its people like me who are gunna be making the $$$ after school, not those silly jocks who think about girls and sports constantly..

I agree that the dumbest of jocks who get drunk every weekend and don't even go to college won't get very far in life. However you've average "most popular guy in school" or the track team captain with the 3.0 GPA and the hot girlfriend will statistically (sorry guys) lead a better, more enjoyable life compared to the average computer programmer.

You guys need to realize something: the true definition of happiness. Its something you need to find for yourself but I will tell you it doesn't involve gaming. Think of your happiest moment in the past few years. Was it the time you went paintballing with your friends or the day you played RS for 12 hours mining coal until you got to level 50?

Oh, and girls are for more then just sex, It sounds corny but the right one will make you whole and will bring happiness your life. Were actually biologically wired that way like animals, once we find a "mate" our life has achieved its purpose and everything else seems minor.

There is fun in making money (and on spending it :D ).

Actually, no... there isn't, sorry. Maybe for the first few weeks if seems great but as soon as you get something, you wont really care for it anymore. You only desire what you don't have.

Even think of RS, didn't you REALLY want full steel back when you were level 3? Once you got it did it bring happiness for more then week? As soon as you get it what's your first thought? Probably "okay great, now I can start working on getting an addy battle axe, that would be sweet!!" you get that and soon it seems lame and you want a rune long, etc, etc.

In the real world this holds true as well. Donald Trump was interviewed once and the conversation was along these lines:

-Reporter: "So congratulation on your newest line, you most be enjoying the new income"

-Trump: "Thank you but actually all I can think about is the next step. I say to myself 'Okay, now my bank account has X number of millions... how can I get more? How can I add another zero onto my income?'. Its seems like an obsession and I really never can sit back and enjoy my wealth. The happiest I feel is when I give my money away to help a good cause.

Speaking of which, Fact: A recent survey of people who won the lottery were found to be less happy a year after they won then they were the week before. I'm not kidding.

That was a long tangent but on the subject of kids on the internet I do think its a problem that will just get exponentially worse. During the summer I will go to my friends house down the road to ask if he wants to go swimming and I find him playing Comand and Conquer at 2pm in his house with the A/C on 68 degrees when its 80 and sunny outside for the first time in weeks. He tells me he wants to "finish the level" that will take a few hours and tells me to wait and watch. No thanks bud, you can screw you life over but I'm going to enjoy mine~

Oh and as for the argument that "Its good kids are on the internet, keeps them away from drugs and stealing stuff!"

Sorry to burst your bubble but most people that are attracted to that kind of behavior are antisocials and have no interest in gaming.

Dem kids got none respect for dem elders, they don't!

I've noticed this also. It kinda sucks, because they could be out having all kinds of fun. Like I did today.. Oh, did I ever have fun...

Anyways. Mentioned earier, kids also don't have much respect for older people. I got called a "Butt" today at the park, when I commented on this person's tomagotchi... I hadn't seen one in years! And then my friends say I was hitting on the little girl.. Ew dude. ;P

When I was a little kid, if anyone older talked to me, it'd be a "Jump." "How high?" kind of answer. Rawr.

lol i love how little kids say like "go away stupid butt" when u get em mad lol, i wuz playing baseball wit my friends a few days ago at the park, and there were these little kids playing on the playground near us, my friend hit the ball over to them (by accident) and we asked for them to throw it back, they're like "NO U IDIOT!" so my friend said "i bet u cant even throw it over here to us" (lol he's sorta rude  ) and anyway this kid goes "i dont care u butt-hole! (LOL!) i can cream u in xbox!" lol, thats how sad little kids are

btw he probably couldnt cream ME in xbox :)

btw he probably couldnt cream ME in xbox :)

Yea, generally little kids (under 11) play video games non stop...and still suck at it. I mean honestly my 10 year old neighbor also plays Red Alert (a RTS) like 10 hours a day, everyday, not even kidding. I watch him and he sends in waves after waves of infantry at a line of pillboxes and as I watch them get mowed down he says "Each time I take off a little bit" I tell him an artilary, tank, or plane could take them out in one shot and save you several hundred troops to which he replies "" I havent lost a game yet, don't tell me what to do" As he contines to battle against 1 level one oppanant.

I only really go out at night now with friends and do stupid stuff, in the summer I'm always out during the day though. :)

Going outside was fun for you.

Playing internet is fun to them.

i agree verry much we do like the internet but we do also excirse.

I don't see why kids think swearing is cool... I don't swear often and I mostly swear when I'm mad. (of course I use damn quite a bit =\ ) IMO young kids should get a good beating for swearing... Whip 'em into shape

they should bring back those paddles into school... you know, the ones with the holes in it to reduce air resistance.

Ugh that drives me mad. Even though I go to an all boys school there's hardly a day gone by when someone walks up to me and tries to give me a hug saying "you know i love you man" :(

No there's no hidden agenda in there :P
