For the past 5 years that I have played RS I enjoyed it, even had that addiction too it. Over that last week I have thought about how stupid it has become. People that has been play for 1/3 of the time I have, has way more then I ever had (phats etc), has the higher combat skill total etc. RS has lost that touch of being fun where training could actually be called training not autoing. I got 50 fishing levels up doing the 'use lobby pot with fishing spot' over and over. The game was ruined in my view when the gowers actually started to listen, and when RS was put on mini-clip. Now, I could go on just bashing about the little things but I am now going on a wider spread. Tip.it, it was once a 'good' site but since they follow every whim to JAGeXs' request which makes it sucky, the no trading sigs for RS GP, which I think some poor SOB cried because he couldn't have that super uber elite pixel sig so he wined thats just mine. The posting of the 'other' third party client, which you cant make a reference to is moronic. Now I cant say all of tip.it bad but I think that they need to have more fun not so 100% pure follow I guess you could say. Jagex I could go on, and on and on about but I don't want too.

 

 

 

Now some of you are saying 'hey I wonder, what did janam do with his stuff'. Well I posted it at RuneScapeHall.net (and tip.it don't take it down for the fact ask GSW he knows its safe he used to be mod there I think or maybe a admin.) Anyways I have had the link in my sig for quite some time. If any of you would have just become apart of the forums its a good place. But, I posted it there I had it at 5:00pm today. I dropped 7mill worth of stuff. The reason I didn't post this along with my party for the fact I knew what would happen, Sk8termaster he quit, people calling him a noob for the fact they didn't get anything. Thats what happens when you post here the world sees.

 

 

 

So that is my post, hope you enjoy it hate it, agree with it or what ever I will only reply to this post and after its dead you will more then likely never hear from me agian....

Kids will eventually move to WOW anyways. I've seen it happen already. And talking about it on a forum full of "kids" wont help your case.

 

 

 

Morons come a dime a dozen. I've seen it on expensive games like SWG. Infact... SWG, while better then RS, was more of a lost cause. Same repition over and over (even more so then RS)... and it cost me more to play that game for one month then it did a year of RS almost. And yes... there were idiots on SWG (even some of my own clan/guild mates were idiots).

 

 

 

As far as the macroing claim goes... yeah... RS was maybe dumbed down a bit. Honestly... I liked some of the changes that came with RS2 (the lobster fishing was actually something I liked).

 

 

 

Obviously, there are ideas I think Jagex should burn in hell for, but then there are things that I could be forever in Jagex's debt for. The miniclip deal we all should've seen a mile away. Jagex were heavily promoting RS2, it even had a review on IGN. Yeah, it had a negative impact on the community to the old school players, but it had a positive impact for Jagex. And you can't really blame them for wanting to make money. We can hate the idea as much as we want, but the fact is that we all probably would've done the same thing.

 

 

 

In game additions and changes are a different story, and I wont bother to get into them.

 

 

 

The deal with Jagex Vs. Tip.it I will probably never understand entirely. What I will admit though is that I think the actions of Andrew Gower were appauling and weak. To threaten to file a lawsuite just wasn't the right thing to do.

 

 

 

As far as the 3rd Party rubbish... I'm not going to bother touching on that so much. Seems like every time I do, some stupid advocate flames me on a personal level. All I'll say about that is 3rd Party software of any kind is illegal. And it doesn't seem how often that is stressed, people continue to bring it up and try to make something sound like its ok to use when it definitly isn't.

 

 

 

I'll leave ya on that note. I've probably reached the point of babbling right now. Didn't know ya, but good luck in the future. And hope you find happyness on WOW (no matter how brief that might be).

im mad and happy at the same time....

 

im mad at the fact of all the bad people now circulating through the game because of that but.....on the other hand if it wasnt from the money Jagex made from this people then we couldnt have had nearly as many servers or good updates as we have now (but we have been progressivly getting more and more bad quests that take 5 minutes to do and stupid rewards fwi, that bone quest.)

I would have rather just had one quest a month, not 3 crappy ones and some new crappy item. At least with one quest a month I could keep up with them:-\. Oh well doesnt matter now.....

Well I couldnt say I am guiting gaming (thats like telling my quit breathing in O2). I plan on moving to WoW, I want a game thats more directed to older group, not towards kids.

 

 

 

That may be a good idea and you probably have played WoW before but i'll tell you know, there is no story line, the quests are plot less

 

"kill werewolfs 10\10 so far" or "talk with sir armik of the elves in darnassus"

 

 

 

and also the game is all killing no mini games, yes you can have more in the way of clans and guilds and groups and the looting is better and the amount of different armours is in the thousands, but if thats no reason to change.

 

 

 

But yes i agree that WoW is more the older people and i enjoy having less young ignorant people calling noobs or offending each other. To be truthful the people don't even talk much but there is no insults...

 

 

 

Have fun irl and WoW but i doubt you will if you leave the game with such an attitude. But if you hate it soo much and rant at least we know you wont come back :roll:

Anyway I completely relate to what you're saying about how Runescape actually stinks now, I tend to go around with public chat off just because it's so sad seeing what everyone says nowadays.. I would donate all my money if someone could get RS1 back :? .

Then quit. Don't whine about days gone by, we like Tip.It, hence why we're using it. Topics like these do nothing for the community are not beneficial. And don't advertise other sites.

i have been playing rs since the beginning of rs2 (which was a short while before they put it on.... argh... miniclip.) It was great, nice community, actually the best ive ever seen. But miniclip is visited by a lot of idiots who think its just another stupid game and they can screw it up if they want, or simply put: noobs.

 

 

 

Yea... RS has been through some rough times, but the best thing to do is just stick with the people who were there from the beginning.

 

 

 

I also think that eventually, RS will die down on miniclip's Popularity, and most of the noobs will just quit playing it (its alredy happened in my school), and rs will be normal again. THE GLORY DAYS ARE NOT YET OVER!!! :)

The only reason I thoguht I would post is for the fact of some people might auctally see it at my point of view ( and maybe get people to do the same). But I saw you axemanjack at Sk8ters' drop party and all of you that went to it know what horrible disaster is turned out to be. Now on paying for WoW who cares I have a full time job to pay for it, some of my friends that used to play RS now play WoW. I am going to advertise sites. At least its not a scam site, never done such a thing.

yea that's is what i've been realizing lately, this game is getting so childish, especially with that new bunny thing that was just realased omg. :roll:

...I actually liked the bunny thing... And I'm 20 years old. All Holiday events are nice in my opinion (or so far at least).

 

 

 

Infact, the Easter event was the one thing that made me pop back on RS for a few minutes to get the emote and ring for two of my accounts. *shrugs*

Well good luck in your new endeavors but I can't say that I really understand. I don't think I'll ever completely quit runescape, I'm sure I'll just continue playing in spurts and then taking breaks as I have been. I can't imagine just giving up on it after all the thousands of hours of my free time I've invested in it. If I'd put that time into a college degree for instance, I could be graduated by now. To me, it'd be like building a project car and then deciding when I'm close to finishing that I'm tired of it, and just pushing the car off of a cliff. I think that's why a lot of people want to sell their characters when they move on even though it's against the rules. They don't want to feel like they just poured all the time down a rat hole. Also, WoW doesn't really seem superior to me.

 

 

 

The graphics are a lot better from what I've seen but no MMO really has that good of graphics when compared to console games and such. To me, the improvement in graphics isn't worth 50 dollars plus 15 bucks a month. Runescape's graphics are actually pretty poor but you have to keep in mind that it's a java game and it's actually pretty good for what it is. The game doesn't eat up all my system's resources(even for a 3 year old computer) so I can multi task, and it's contained within a window, rather than going full screen, which makes multi tasking much easier.

 

 

 

While you probably loose a lot of the kids you just end up with immature adults and worse, people who think the game IS their life and take it way too seriously. Some friends of mine play and one of them got kicked out of his clan because he was busy with finals and couldn't be on as much to make runs. That and I don't think the changes runescape has gone through were for the worst. I was very resistent to rs2 when it first came along as well but I've eventually grown accustomed to it. There have been discussions before about how rs2 makes things too easy but I don't see repetitive clicking that makes you go through mice faster than toilet paper as being related to the difficulty level.
