there are only 3 people atm with the max lvl, and it always rises. In a few months (or weeks) it should rise to 2178 and again nobody will have the max lvl.

 

 

 

and yes, i would personally quit if something liek that would happen.

I could see em gettin rid of f2p couple years down the line. Especially since now theres so many macroers. History repeats itself and look at rsc.

i can predict that some 5 more years (more or less) RS3 /2 wil go on CD like most games (WoW, AOE3/2/1, Etc...) and they will make it run on better graphics and they will raise the cap, JAVA cant take more updates , RUNESCAPE is actually pushing java to the limit , java was designed to run low-demanding programs on websites/PDA's/Mobiles :), so runescape will sooner or la8r be on CD>! :D ENJOY :lol: :lol:

im telling you, they need to bring back rs1 with the waaay old pking system as an alternate game. All stats will be reset there and it would be so much more fun than you would think. But if they reset rs2 i'd still play. Actually, to be honest with you, if I could choose to I would. Sure, the level 126's would quit cause of "wasted" time, but I think it would be alot more fun rediscovering the game. Plus, ive been playing for 4+ years and im level 94... i could care less about any of my stats let alone my money. I guess you can only understand it if you've been there.

 

 

 

I just think rs isn't nearly as fun as it used to be. People have over a billion gp now, A BILLION. The economy is so messed up right now. Lower levels have no chance of ever catching up in monetary value to higher levels unless they risk it all dueling or merchanting (still very hard). A reset would be alot of fun because you'd have a huge race to be say... the first 85 slayer, just to charge outrageous prices for whips (maybe 1 mil each cause theres no money in the economy), or the race to be the highest smith ;) I think it would make the game alot more fun again.

Frankly, if they did a complete skills/levels reset, I wouldn't care. And that's coming from someone who has a over 100mil in cash and items, and has put 5 years into this game. I'd still play. Because it would be such an exciting race to top the leaderboards. I think it would be 10x more fun for a few years than it is now.

That's where it gets kinda ironic. I can't remeber what mod said it, but the current system is based on two digits. To change it to three digits, would require not only almost a complete rebuild of the basic system, but a STAT RESET.

I think all the skills should be raised above 99 maybe in a year or twos time, other than that. But i highly doubt they will ever reset it, if they did i would demand all those hours of time and the money i have spent for members to be given back to me. :)

If anything, I think they will just change the percentage/how you calculate your level so that they either lower everyone's by a certain percent or add more levels about 99...

If there are hundreds of people complaining cause of lack of things to do I think Jagex would just release more really difficult/slow skills to level.

 

 

 

Personally I woudn't mind if everything was reset. Being completely level with everyone would be kinf of exciting.

why does it seem that once someone maxes out all stats that the game is no longer appealing or worth playing? im sure to the odd one or two people that would happen but they keep bringing out quests to satisfy those people.

the economy would be totaly trashed there would be no money ciricling aroundsll the phats and othere rares would be gone people would loose millins mabey bliions worth of items and money. If there was a total skill rest i bet 99% of people with over 90 combat would quit and rs would prolly lose 60% of all p2p people

RS came out of beta a very long time ago, so NO, there will never be a full reset.

Here are my carefully considered thoughts on this topic:

 

 

 

1. Jagex will NOT reset scores of players. We already have that ability - it's called start a new account. Cancel membership on the old account and start membership on the new account, and wha-la, do-it-yourself reset.

 

 

 

2. Jagex will NOT extend the high level total beyond 99. In 5 years of the game, we only have 3 players who have achieved this lofty goal on all skills. We read in Zezima's interview that there are still challenges and still things going on to keep the interest of these players.

 

 

 

3. Jagex will likely add new skills. When new skills are added, new activities are provided to all players. Jagex will also continue to add new quests, mini-games and other activities which add to the dynamic nature of the game.

 

 

 

What would I like to see?

 

 

 

I think it would be cool if Jagex created a special server where only "elite" players could log in to. These players would have to have a minimum total skill level of around 90-90% of the total possible maximum skill total. On this world, various "minor" modifications would be in place, including all monster combat values would be doubled. There would be certain items (weapons, armor, etc) that would only be available on this elite server. (Like member items on a free world, these items would not be available to the rest of us rabble.)

 

 

 

As players progressed into this elite level, more servers would be added as demand requires.

 

 

 

I doubt this cool idea would happen, but it's an interesting idea, at least.

after thinking it over aa reset of all characters would be pretty nice be able to start over from the begining. i think it would bring the new feeling back to the game that you got when you first started.

they used to do it when they banned you, they would reset your stats, and bank and put you in the black hole

As maaaany people have said, a COMPLETE reset is just not really very likely at all.

 

 

 

The majority of the core of RS players (that includes a lot of us on these forums) would definitely leave - all that hard work gone in a blink of an eye. Now people have nothing to lose by leaving RS, they would probably seek a better RPG, one with better graphics etc, because there would be nothing keeping them tied down to RS.

 

 

 

I don't think it will ever happen because if RS gets filled up with lots of high level players, Jagex will always be one step ahead in the updates. They may increase the maximum level in each skill, they may do many things but a total reset will be the last resort.
