Possible idea for yews

Let me know if this is dumb, but with the advent of the new pure essence and normal essence, couldnt jagex just make yews cut in F2P "fire yews" and yews in p2p regural yews that can be used for both firemaking and fletching. This would help to solve the same issue that they made the pure essence for. F2p would still have the use for the yews they cut and p2p still has theirs.

Ofcourse this is yet another division between the economies of the f2p and the p2p worlds, a complaint from the essence change. But in the end it may deture some macroing because of the drop in demand for F2P yews.

this would ruin all those f2p woodcutters! even though im a member i say no!

Yes, but at the moment it appears that F2p's going to go down anyways thanks to all the Macroers. I personally think this is a pretty good idea, Yews could still be used, but wiould have extremely limited usefulness, which is exactly what Jadex did to solve the Essence problem. I support :D . (sorry F2p, but it really seems that you're not going to be around for much longer)

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Its not like they wouldnt be able to get levels (which is the point of the game isnt it?) they just woudnt be able to sell them to p2p for fletching, they would either sell to firemakers or use them themselves. Its not perfect, but there are lots of posts in here about the macroers, something will be done im guessing.

ew... no. have you noticed a big supply of the yew fletching economy is from f2p? not only fletching, but merchanting too. f2p has been forced to lower prices, which makes merchanters come to our worlds to buy them for cheap. causing yews cut on f2p only burnable would make the demand of the yews go down and the supply to go up, thus causing a big price decrease. the only people who would buy them are the people who would burn them for easy xp in an easy skill.

i say nay.

I support the idea. BUT, it would ruin every legit person, because most people that are pure F2P make most of there cash from Yews.

I say... This goes in "Suggestions". Wrong topic yet again... Go general P2P!

I think this is a bad idea, because then the yew prices on p2p servers would skyrocket to at least 375gp. This may not seem like much, but the economy of P2P depends on F2P's willingness to supply. I'd say about 70% of all yews come from F2P servers. We can't let that drop... Not at all.

I think instead of ruining the game they should just change the color scheme. They need to fix the autoing problem, because it is an exploited part of the game that needs to be fixed. Delaying fixing this will just lead to complete outrage from the P2P people.

And besides, if the yews stop, then the autoers will just turn to another source of income, like lobsters. Soon F2P skills will become worthless. Jagex can't completely kill F2P unless they come out and say it. Besides, who would buy yews they could only burn? Oh thats right, NOBODY. All the F2Pers who worked hard to get their woodcutting would get completely slapped by this update. Have some remorse for people who can't pay 5$ for a game. You don't ahve to completely kill the community.

Besides, there's already a sticky for this and a "suggestions" board.

I think Jagex should sneak in tiny updates that screw up the autoers every 3 days or so. Such as, putting an obstacle in the way of the yews to the bank, moving the yews 3 tiles away, adding level 2 aggressive cockroaches etc.

Not my point at all. If you have ever tried to buy yew longs using raw materials, you would now that you usually do not break even.

Doing something about the "Yew Problem" would help. Why not make it so that you have to be above cb lvl 30 for most of the stuff, like fishing, mining, Woodcutting, etc. Probably help because then autoers would actually have to do some work.

Even though I'm p2p, I say no because this would really hurt the f2p players. The main use of yews is to fletch, not many ppl burn them unless they have the money to spare. Jagex cannot add little updates to the game to stop autoers, because they will get around theat. What they should do is change the way the game works, and that's what thier newest update announces(even though it has not yet been implemented). I just hope its enough to stop the autoers.

I think that the best idea that I've seen to control the wc bot situation is to make cutters have to equip axe to use and make higher lvl trees only cuttable with higher lvl axes...just a thought

IMO they should never have given f2p any new logs to cut since rsc, they shoulda been left with regular logs

but the low lv monsters idea and f2p yews as firemaking only seem ok

i like that idea. but, the autoers can stil just use bronze axes.

Or you could just make it that to chop yews you need

- rune axe

- 40 attack and 60 woodcut

but then thats were the auto fighter will become mroe problem...

whenever theress a solution 2 this, there is always something thats ****** it up.
