I don't do real work for cash, like mining or woodcutting or fishing (or others) that involves a constant fow of cash, but I get nearly all my income from Monster drops. Barrows, Dagganoth Kings, Metal Dragons, even Fire Giants, you name it, I kill it (well, working on KQ, but I'll kill her sometime).

I've fairly well off thanks to these, got a lot of great Mage gear (Seers Ring, Mage's Book, Fury, etc...) and levels from them  .

[if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or

by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.]

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

it has to be said : an average can't be a range of numbers

Anyway,

Glorys + greens is probably the most sound way to make cash for combat ppl. I don't do it because id rather train in peace. (EXP > little gold coins)

if ur still making under 250k an hour while concentrating on making money...you need to get educated son 8-) read up on some money making methods and live comfortably :)

Just to talk about making money for a second : I have no doubt in my mind I could eventually work my way to a higher standard of RS living by doing my piddly little 300k+ method and then moving on to bigger and beter things. but god it's boring and you only need like 9 mill to buy barrows gear and food for life + more!!

Chewy Shoe has done it in both RSC and RS2 and i'm nothing short of amazed at his efforts

Hopefully you have fun doing it because the day you see ME walking around with 100m is the day 100m is worth very little

I don't have a set income. When I am low on money, I spend a little bit of time and go make 1K nats and sell them. Once I get higher stats, I will try and find a more efficient way of making money.

0gp to possibly 12m+ with the best luck you can possibly have. Barrows for life

That's only two of Guthan's Spears ;) . If you get no spears, perhaps you may encounter Lady Luck and get multiple Double Item runs. Like that would happen... :)

I've never been to barrows. Maybe I should start.

Anywhere between 2 and 15mill an hour, average is about 5mill an hour.

If you are playing purely for money (i.e you need money to buy supplies for a skill you enjoy) then there are plenty of ways to earn between 200k and 1000k an hour which are fairly easy and require pretty much no skills.

It's chewy!!! You guys obviously have no idea what your talking about. Do not doubt chewyshoe's skill ;)

Honestly, i havent seriously made money in atleast 2 or 3 years. All the money I need comes from the inflated prices of p-hats i bought for like a hundreth of thier current value  Although i sold my last one a month ago... so maybe it's time to start again ;)

To the above poster: Only good merchants make a nice amount of money

But remember, folks...money is NOT everything. I respect someone with a high skill total over a person with a lot of cash ANYDAY. Money is common and easy to obtain...high skills...are not as much.

Money = (most)Skills

I can't comprehend how people like you "value skills over money/items any day." Skills don't take any skills do raise, just a ton of time. Getting money requires luck, time, and skill. Skills are a time sink.

Money also = fun. Skills are not fun. Money can get you things like equipment for castle wars, pking, dueling, monster slaying, gifts to give for friends, etc. As for the later part of your post, you say money is easy to obtain, which is true, but if you want to get A LOT of money it's not that easy. A few hundred k an hour is pretty easy, but you don't need a brain to make that much. And you say high skills are not easy to obtain? Maybe you meant they take a long time to obtain, rather than they are easy to maintain. Skills you do the same thing over and over and over again for days on end just for one level(depending on how high your level is).

Sorry about the one paragraph  Not like anyone is going to read this anyways.

You Know I read everything.

Meh alot of skills cost money... Range, smithing, magic, runecrafting, fletching, firemakeing, crafting, herblore, farming thats 9 out of 21 skills 4 of those skills are the same thing (atk def str HP) so its really like 9 out of 17 skills... so like kido said money = skills.

Ok back on topic. If I really try... i can make 1-1.5M an hour less then most merchants but I've never been much of an active merchant anyway I just get some cash when I need it. :P

 examples?? 5mill an hour................. do that for a day or two, get a phat! I make about, oh, 150k an hour. Awfull slow. 1mil is like, "OMG 1mil!!!!!!!" for me   .

So, what lvls do you need for that kind of cash, and what do you do??

*Smiles* I've gone from about 200k to 500mill in about 4 months time. Although, sswiss04 and das did give me a bit of cash to get started.

To put that "average" into perspective:

500 mill over 4 months with an average of 5m/hr means about 100 hours of gameplay.

Are you sure you play less than an hour a day on average over that time?

I bet you play over 4-5 hours on average per day to make that kind of money if not more. Dont confuse the meaning of average..... in the context of this post that means total worth divided by total hours of gameplay or close to that. For example, selling some item for a profit of 5 mill or 15 mill over a 5 second trade doesnt make the average 1-3 mill per second.

As for me, I dont make money anymore ... the only thing I have done lately when I log on is to cut and burn a few willows for half an hour while chatting with anyone I know whos online.

I know how to do basic arthimetic, thanks. And when I posted, I mean I make on average 5mill an hour NOW. Obivously I wasn't making 5million an hour when I had 200k, thats ridiculous 2500% return, nobody in the world can make that type of cash.

My post was really divided into two seperate points. The first was answering the original topic (How much can you make an hour, well I can make 5million on average an hour.) the second was in response to somebody saying they went from 0gp to 14mill from barrows, I was merely pointing out that barrows was indeed not the best way to make money.

Also, if I was to do a true average, then my average gp per hour would be more like 5,000gp per hour, I wasted alot of time as a newbie. There is a point when you discard data.

So yeah, I will take your bet, I play way less than 3-4 hours a day. How much would you like to bet?

On a side note, i'll make a post about non skilled ways to get money just as soon as I can figure out where I should post it.

riiiight and u expect us to just take ure word for that i mean that does seem a wee bit unlikely -.- unless you have found some sort of magical portal in which dragon chains are dropped every 4 hours

You don't know that portal? Just take a left at the mime's theatre, keep evil Bob's Island to your right and you'll find it eventually. If you reach evil Bob's prison you've gone too far

You don't NEED money to raise skills, even though it makes it a lot easier. If you'd keep everything you ever mined/chopped/fished/farmed you could easily raise the skill you need raw materials for. For example chopping 1 yew log gives less xp then burning 1 yew log. So if you'd go from 60 wc to 99 it would give you more logs then you'd need for 60-99 firemaking. The leftover yews you could use for fletching.

I'm not saying I don't buy raw materials, because I've done a lot of that, but I'm saying that money=skills is the easy way, not the only way out.

It would be a fun experiment to start an account and never buy anything, get all your own materials. A fun experiment to watch, pretty hard to do I reckon :)

hmmm, id say that money isnt everything in the game, sure u can get things much much much easier with money cause u can buy supplies.. Hmmm imagine if we could not trade in the game. W00T, i dont think neone would be lvl 99 in everything lol. U can do things without money its just that it takes longer..

Well I'm not on whole lot, but whenever I am on he is rarely on, so I don't think he plays that much. I can vouch for him; everything he says is true. He even made a thread with his starting bank pic when he had 150k or so, but I can't find it.
