bum_co
Would you? I mean why would you want to be one? To have "power"? Would you like to have someone looking up to you for answers constantly? Also, your expected to know everything, and never break any rule. If a mod says crap, RS blocks it, so everyone wants to report a mod for fun. Then you get banned. Would you really like to be one? whizkid338
Say cabbage instead. Being a mod would be cool. R.I.P The Old Nite. Heroes get remembered. But Legends never die. You were truly a Runescape Legend
dorkvader
whoa, i havent been on in a while, and forgot my icon was this kool. well thats a good reason to get on the forums more often. i'm here almost dailey as for modship, yeah i would like that. i report all the macroers, item scammers, account traders, staff impersonators, etc. taht i find. also if some newb come asking for fr33 st00f, i dont get mad, i just tell them a good way to make some money and say that i got all my 1.7m. that way. (they are impressed that a lvl 72 *gasp soooo high!!* has so much money *gasp 1.7m!!!* so i awnser questions ans all that like (which way to varrock) and all that. i kinda like helping people and reporting all that. whenever i see a mod i'm like "lol how many people have asked you what the crown is for, today?" and they are like i get about 11 per day or they say too many. so yeah tahts waht i think. maybe i will become a mod someday! jabraulter
I think it would be a lot of fun. I don't have any black marks against my account, nor have I ever been reported, at least not to my knowledge. I am respected by my friends, and I am very personable to other players, no matter the level. Sometimes I log on just to talk to people to help them pass the time whilst training. It would be fun ;) Sign me up Jagex :P

Also, your expected to know everything, and never break any rule. If a mod says crap, RS blocks it, so everyone wants to report a mod for fun. Then you get banned. Would you really like to be one? First of all, no matter how many people "report you for fun", you won't get banned unless you break a rule. Reports themselves don't do anything, it's the action of a Jagex Mod that looks at the report that does something. The questions do get annoying sometimes, but it's easy to ignore them (for me at least) or just walk/teleport away. You are right in that people expect you to know everything. I'm a mod by the way.

I assume you're talking about player mods. I wouldn't mind it. I wouldn't do it for "power," I would do it because I enjoy helping out, and to give something back to Jagex. I can tell you from experience, people constantly pming you with questions gets very annoying. I guess I'm too patient to ever turn off my chat though. I don't have a problem with knowing the rules and never breaking them, because I already don't break the rules. As for your last statement, just don't say bad things. It's as simple as that. Also, like the above, if people "report you for fun," they'll be the ones getting banned, not you. I never worry about people threatening to report me.
lavirylime
I wouldn't. But if they just gave me the power to ban autoers, I'd accept it. 'Cause at this rate, autoers are never going to leave RS. I am a tree.

Rebdragon
I wouldn't take the job if I got it. I'd have to type out all my words just right, and whenever I'd talk in a bank it'd always get real quite, real fast :? . I guess the power is ok, but I'd rather not be a mod. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. 1packer
I would love to be a mod, make all the little autoers log when i want to mine some coal or get some yews.......hehe run little cheaters. I think it would be nice to have some credibility in the game and i try not to cuss and also to help people when they ask for help, i think extra begging wouldn't be nice, but less people impersentating jagex staff to me i bet 8-)
WelcomeTo
whenever I'd talk in a bank it'd always get real quite, real fast You guys are exaggerating... I talk in banks all the time and I get maybe one or two questions a day. What gave you the idea that when a mod talks the bank gets quiet? You guys must be F2P or something, because in P2P it's not bad at all.

It might be a bit uncommon, but people still just carry on with their buying or selling, the whole bank doesn't get quiet.
RSgamer
what are you talking about? banks dont get quiet when mods speak... people just behave better! (or so i think...) hazardmaster
I would sit by the yew trees and report. So yes, I would. Also, so I could threaten people in the wilderness to not PK me or they get banned :P Only the biggest negative is all the noobs swarm at your crown and people are asking to be your friend. Also, you get frequently asked stupid, pointless questions and get traded by random people at the market when you simply want a rune (g) helmet. bum_co
I figured out one more reason for all of you mod-goers to be a mod. Merchanting! Mods can talk through public chat being off, so they can never be ignored, and get deals a lot faster. Plus, i swear they get level 6 priority in pest control. :(

me_poulin
Honestly I wouldn't want to be a mod.. With that crown next to my name I'd always have noobs around me every time I talked... I get annoyed easy so I couldn't handle being followed alot... Being level 116 with green party hat is already a huge noob magnet last thing I need is more noobs following and asking questions every time I talk.... :? Once in a life time! bonus_malus
IMHO the only advantage of being a mod is that auto's tend to log off when a crown is visible. So just to P-off auto-owners I wouldnt mind being one for a week or so. In my opinion a drawback of being a mod is that one cannot just let things pass if noticed. When I see people using bad language I do not report but kindly ask them to stop it (or else ....). Most of them are kids and some dont know what they are saying. Esp. the Dutch kids (I'm Dutch) sometimes use bad language (in English) without knowing the exact meaning. Some words (again in English) aren't considered too bad compared to the Dutch equivilant. I do think however that, since there are so many non-English playing the game, Jagex should extend the filter for bad language in other languages than English. I have seen people using Dutch words they would get smacked for by their parents if used in RL. Also saw a couple of 'funny' user names that could be considered 'illegal' (Once saw one that, if translated, would read: doyouneedtotakeash** - yes it was written as one word). I thought is was funny though some people might find it offending. So being a pmod isn't my kind of thing. I'm too gentle I think. [EDIT]  Just noticed my text had the word cabbage in it. (Nice filter - better than the *** in RS). So I changed the "it" for ** to make sure the message comes across[/EDIT] Semper in excremento, sole profundum qui variat. Don_Gordamio
I wouldnt want to be one, cause my moderatorship would be of no tribute to improve the game.
