Possible Macro that isn't one

my titles wierd, i admit...couldn't think of anything else. But i'm seeing so many people get banned for macroing when they haven't macroed at all. I'm wondering if maybe programs such as iTunes or Windows media player running on the computer may have set jagex's detection thing off. I know i'm probably wrong, but its an idea so don't flame me and say "OMG YOU NOOB, THIS ISN'T WHY  "

Maybe people were just clicking really mechanically, or had a laptop so that the mouse never moves while you're clicking and that's all it was based on?

Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.

Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well.

And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.

[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.

You are looking at this in the wrong way. I dont think that Jagex will have normal everyday programs flagged for running macros so dont worry about that at all.

To detect a macro they will just check logs on their files of where and when the mouse is being clicked. By looking at this and defining times between clicks they can tell if the program is being used by a person or a macro.l

Its easy to understand when you realise the a person can misclick and walk behind a tree instead of cutting it, where a program set to click in the exact place cannot miss. This means they work perfectly which is not right :)

- My skills are now really, really lame ! Time to fix that! -

There are microsoft word "macros". Not sure what they are, but I assume auto typers for word. this may set it off. I don't know.

auto typers for rs also, when people wanna sell something but don't want to type...But thanks for the opinions, its good to know that i was wrong.

If it were based on that I'd be long gone. When selling stuff in large amounts to shops(like willow bows or .. iron plates or..runes to zhakahz-whatever caves) I change to single button mouse so that I can just click on 1 spot to sell 10 over and over(sometimes thousands of times). I put the cursor where I want and raise my mouse(optical so it doesn't move if its not against a surface like a mouse with a ball would) and start clicking. So no I don't think it's that.

Don't forget this. Jagex is now banning ALL accounts from a macroed IP.

Thus if you don't macro your main, yet macro a noob at night, or if a sibling is... then your banned.

You only get one chance to live your life....

But, endless opportunities to screw it up.

OMG YOU NOOB, THIS ISN'T WHY

Wow that was horrible. It aint funny so why do you do it?!?

Anyways, I would hardly agree that anything like that is setting them off. Maybe because some one reports them thinking they are macroing when in reality they are just power mining or fishing with public chat off.

A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.

Jagex can't detect you running programs on your computer. Jagex can only ban someone for macroing when they show chronic signs of macroing. Such signs could include, but are not limited to:

Logged on for Hours at a time, doing only one thing

Not chatting

Very repetitive movements

Windows Media Player or iTunes would do nothing of the sort. Only a program that could directly control your player would be possible of setting off warning signs.

don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?

Since the programs you are referring to have no direct impact on runescape I don't see how they could possibly be noticed let alone be bannable offenses.

its really hard for macro'ers to macro. Why? there is always someone, either Jagex macro detector, or just players reporting you if they think your a likely target.

Macro programs seems to work in repetitions, and to the human reflexes, we are not agile to do that. Other case, we are not perfect. But a program can be.

Another thing. Yes if you macro on one account, the others get banned. But since Ip changes (only if you use dial up, or a proxy) I don't know how jagex will ban all accounts. Bad thing is for people on Broadband/Cable/etc. So their Ip's are Static.

But in some case some people just get banned for mysterious reasons, that you need to ask Jagex about.
