OK so I'm just doing my usual slayertasks, nothing special. All of the sudden a guy logs in (I won't say his name as it is against the rules), that I haven't spoken to for like 3 months. I remembered he had helped me get a whip when I was a low level player, and we had some good times. So I say "Hey man, long time no see!". He replies back "Yeah man whatsup". We keep talking for a while, about eachother levels and stuff.

 

 

 

Then he starts asking me how much money I had, and what items I had. I answer him politely how much I had. Then I asked him back how much he had? He answer 9Mil. I say, "pretty nice, like 3 times as much as I had when I was your level." Then he says "Thanks, well I hack accounts for money, lol." I was.. Shocked.. I ask why? Aren't there other ways of making money? He says I dunno, I just hack, steal, sell accounts, it's too hard to make money f2p. Me, still being shocked, try to report him.

I've never knew that, try Offenive Language you can report anyone like that.

I did :? I tried Real-life item trading, Offensive language, Item scamming and Password scamming, none of them worked :? And I didn't type the name wrong either.

I've always been angered at this too. I thought reporting "took a screenshot of the last 60 seconds"...well, surely this would constitute? But no, it doesn't.

Yes, you can report pms for any rule break. I reported a player who asked me for my password and I saw that he was removed from high scores and I got a message from Jagex. Yes, you can report PMS, but I remember when you couldn't.

Yeah, I remember reporting one guy PMing me trying to get me to give him my pass to make me members for free :roll: I even got a message from Customer Support saying "Action was taken against the player" and all that good stuff, so I assume it would work the same way...unless it has since been changed...

yes. PM's are reportable. Any action the player does within 60 seconds is reportable. (counting chatting, pming, and logging off)

i think the problem is the anti-abuse system Jagex has in place. I suppose while they do look at pm, the setup that prevents people to report those that did not speak forgot to look at private chats...

if he spoke, either in public chat or in a pm, then you are able to report them. are you sure you typed in the correct name?

I would send a message to customer service with the information and players name. Explain you tried to report the conversation but was unable to as it was all in private chat...ANd suggest they change that in the future if possible.

As far as I know, private chat does appear in your snapshots. Perhaps in your hesitation, you waited more than one minute; or as Stallion4589, you might have mistyped the player's name.

It would be nice if the reporting system took a scrni of the last 60 seconds, but I highly doubt that. It's just one of those things that seem to good to be true.

 

 

 

Ive reported 100s of people for bannable offenses, and it was clear that they should be banned. Yet, I still see them around - so I doubt that it takes scnies...

1. Hadn't spoken to him in 3+ months.

 

2. Don't even know him IRL.

 

3. He started asking me how much cash and trimmed armour (or freeplay armour..) I had, which kindof gave me the idea that he was planning on hacking me.

 

4. I would report anybody if I see them breaking the rules, friend or no friend. (Kindof makes number 1 and 2 useless.. Oh well..)

:o they should really change that, try sending a manual one to customer service :D

if you haven't seen a result shouldn't we be assuming that Jagex doesn't exactly ban a person if only one person reports them? Besides that, customer support is horrible anyway :P

Maybe he has 2 spaces or something in his name. I reported some idiot who told me his dad gave him his acc when he PMed me, got him banned too and it worked.

I am ranting on this too. My friend got hacked and I cant even do anything about if they dont talk. I am angry about this.

That often annoys me because some people just pm you and you have no clue who they are. Then they randomly try to scam you and you can't report them... It's sad... :cry:

I do, but he was on my friends list from when I got to know him 3 months ago.. And yes I am very sure that I typed his name right, because it wasn't anything with spaces, nothing with a o 0 or 0 in it, nothing with a i I or 1 in it, just a simple name.. I wish I could just type it here.. lol.
