Any way to make money from POH/Construction?

Featured Replies

Has anyone noticed any real ways to make money by actually using the skills or your house, or is this skill just a big money waster?

I dont mean by making steel nails or planks or anything like that either, actually using the skill.

I don't think so.

I saw someone outside the portal a few minutes ago selling rocking chairs 15k each. You can make stuff for other people's houses which they can put in without the level. So yes, you can make money.

Probably only for the first top levellers selling their stuff for high prices - other than that, it appears not. This skill seems to be a giant money drain.

At level 15, you unlock the ability to build a Workshop. A fun and useful room for Crafting, Smithing and using your Construction level to make money, the Workshop is an important room for your house.

Key features

There is a tool space in the workshop, which can be upgraded to make and provide a wide variety of free tools.

The workbench is central to this room, it is where you can make money from your Construction level. Dependent on the level of your workbench, you can construct flat-packed items. For example, you can use the same materials to make a rocking chair to make a flatpacked version of it with your workbench. You still get the same experience for making the item. You can then sell this item to another player who is unable to make the item, but wants it. They simply use the flatpacked version with the hotspot.

Taken from the knowledge base.

The skill looks like a big money sink (I don't like the word "waster" in this case) but it's also in it's early moments. It may become a viable money source eventually, we will have to wait and see.

COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! you cant make more than you spend from this skill its just another game played by jagex (to try and decrease the inflation  ) if you have the money go ahead but for all the regulars and serfs(lol) dont waste your money. I wont change this opinion until someone shows me proof they can make money off of this skill

Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!

Alright this is how it's setup...just like farming and slayer...if you're in the top 500 at the maxed out part of the skill you're going to make some money...otherwise you're stuck with leftovers that are still some money, but it's not near as great.

Umm I think tele tablets might be quite worthy...

well not every skill is meant to make money :) i love this one and i don't care if it's money sucker. it seems so much fun all of the features. one of the best feature is teleport locations, it will save tons of laws and other runes.

i'l gladly put millions in my house ;)

1500+ total 89 cmb; 1600+ total and under 93 cmb.

02/04/07 reached all skills 60+ under lvl 90 cmb.

07/19/07 reached all skills 70+ at lvl 93 cmb.

Prayer is good for herbs

maybe the tele-tablets or whatever they are called that you can make in one of the rooms in your house (not sure what its called) it says you can basically enchant a tablet with any spell and sell it to other players, might come in handy cause they take up less space...

They take up less space, and I believe you do not need the magic level to use them.

Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

What's up with all the prayer updates lately? Jagex hates me :(

I'm the ultimate prayer noob.

You crack it open and the spell happens. It is stackable so it is a one time use thing.

alright i see what you guys are saying but when you get down to it....

what money can be made? i know you can sell the tablets but will that repay the thousands (or millions) of gp spent on the skill? ihear its an expensive skill. If you are rich go for it but if not i think you should stay away from it

Actually no, ecto is still the best way for prayer exp. 400%, you just got to love it. Anyways maybe read the knowledge base beter to find out how to get money from this. It says to sell the items you make on your workbench to other players. You sell the stuff you can make to those who cant for money. That is how you will make your money through this.

A good way to make money is to sell the oak planks, people were paying loads of money for them. :o

ecto may be 50% better but...

your forgetting the TIME factor. you can go thru a heck of alot more bones thru your poh then ecto per hour. leading to more prayer xp.
