Kb100 Posted June 15, 2006 Share Posted June 15, 2006 A few things have led me to believe jagex is trying to make the fihgt caves easier. 1. Warrior guild defense game, exactly like swithing prayers against jad. 2. Logout and progress is saved after the wave thing. 3. When jad spawns, he no longer immediatly attacks you with ranged, he waits until he is on your screen in plain sight for a few seconds. (Noticed today when I was killing jad for fun again, ran around the whole map looking for him, took like 30 seconds for him to actually shoot from when I got the "jad is coming" msg) Comments plz. They didn't actually make it easier so no ppl with fire capes will complain, but they did make it all more convinient, so those people are happier. Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well.And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. It's not like jad. Even if you put on mage protect before their spell reaches you (which is hard, their spells are fast) you'll get hit. and being hit 45 damage hurts. I dont care so much about the other updates but the checkpoint really makes me mad There is no "checkpoint", at least not as in other games. The concept of a checkpoint implies that you can resume the saved status from the checkpoint at any moment. You die after the checkpoint, you can try again from that point without having to start all over. You can keep trying and trying until you beat it, without having to start over. This isn't what happens with the fight caves. If you log out at the end of a wave, you can log back in and continue playing from that point. But that's it. If you die, you're dead and have to start over, there's no progress saved you can go back to. You can't go back and restart from the saved point if things are going badly. It's nothing like a checkpoint. I'll tell you what it is: a good thing! There's lots of health tips about taking your eyes off the computer screen every hour or so, letting your eyes and mind (and even your clicking finger) rest. Jagex are just helping people do this, and it's smart. Besides, just because someone can stay logged on 2 hours straight it doesn't mean that they are better players than someone who have to log in 20 minutes at a time. Stop whinning already, this is a very good thing for everyone, even for people who already have the cape. You might lose it and need to get it back, you know? But yeah, it sucks if you log out during those 360s.. I was only a few waves away from jad and had to log out.. log back in.. see black for 5 seconds, and before I know it, I'm outside of that cave :wall: 200. Sure, you can hit the range every single time, but you have no distractions. There's no one shooting back at you, there's no moving targets, there's no screams of people being shot. It doesn't compare to the real thing at all. In the game, you just look and switch. In the real thing, you look and switch. And eat. And lure the healers. That might be useful for practicing but it doesnt make it any easier. 2.)the logout thing has been they're for ages and I think people should be able to logout in there as not everybody has 2 hours to be able to stay on straight through. 3.) If Jad can hit you off the map it wouldn't be fair because you would not have a chance to defend yourself and it would just be total luck. Two points here, and I have nothing against you so it isn't personal: a) The 'checkpoint' (if you really want to call it that) has been there for atleast a month and a half, so it was around when you completed it. B) Why should having to stay on for 2-3 hours straight seperate the 'elite', who can stay on for that long, from the 'not-so-elite' who have work to do ect. so they can't stay on long enough to complete it even if they know they can? I might actually attempt the firecape now :D Ive always wanted it, I just cant sit at the comp for 2-3 hours straight. Firstly I rarely have that much free time to play a game, secondly I wouldnt want to sit for 2-3 hours straight playing rs. Although, I think that waiting until you see jad before he hits you is a good idea, eliminates some of the luck though (Of which, I have little... ) Why are people making such a deal of trojann2 saying he's proud he didn't use the checkpoint?
