Before I send you reading this -whole- paragraph of almost useless nonsense, I'll just tell you the end of the story. Guthan's warspear form barrows. Yes, blah blah blah, goals & achievements next time. That's not the point.

 

 

 

A few of you may have seen my various threads, asking various things about Desert Treasure. Well, I finished the quest earlier today (it wasn't all it was worked up to be :( ) and have spent the last hour or two playing around with my ancients. A few duels, some casual pking, and then .. barrows.

 

 

 

I was just contemplating which would cost more (barrowing with my usual method of charged zammy flames or using ice blitz instead) when I opened the chest. I hadn't used a single dose of prayer potion the whole trip (aren't i so great), so my mind was busy calculating the total costs of the barrows trips, and of course the inconvenience of traveling with ancient magicks.

 

 

 

I had figured out that with ice blitz:

 

 

 

100 death runes

 

200 chaos runes - per trip - 54k per trip

 

200 water runes

 

 

 

90 blood runes

 

45 air runes - per trip + 2 doses prayer potion - 65k per trip

 

180 fire runes

 

 

 

When I opened the chest. My mind still on my calculations, I teleported back to the canifis pub, banked my items, and teleported to CW to play with my ancients some more. I withdrew enough runes for 50 ice blitz'es, and then my black d hides and crystal bow. I've always been partial to Zamorak, so I waited until there was space on the team and entered. After scoring 1 point (I always try to score the first point of the game, and usually succeed), I decided I had made my contribution to the team and set about pwn1ng some n00bs. 3 games later (2 won, 1 lost), i banked my items and closed RS for the night.

 

 

 

I woke up the next day, and, long story short, found the Guthan's spear in my bank that I didn't remember I had put there the day before. I ran around the room I was in, madly clicked the RS screen (sending my character in all directions) and then sat down to type this. I just thought it was funny that I got the most valuable item available from barrows and didn't even notice until a day later.

Dam good luck getting G Spear and gratz on finishing DT. I love ancients and I only have 59 mage! :lol:

You forgot the bloods in your ice blitzes.

 

Unless you are always doing ice bursts which is the spell you posted the required runes for you are going to have to include the price on the bloods in there.

I just finished desert treasure too! Tho, i havent went to barrows yet.

I just got another Warspear from the barrows. :)

 

 

 

This was my first double-item chest from barrows. Possibly the best chest I've ever gotten. Guthan spear, Karil top, and 239 deaths.

 

 

 

Hmm.. I'll have to check my bank tomorrow to see if i got anything from my barrows trips earlier today :pray:

I just did it at 79(no pure) and used like 3 retore pots and 3 sharks.... :-s

so that is 2 g spears in 2 days!?!?!?! meanwhile little old me with 102 runs and no barrows items (don't laugh) has to put up with miserable rune (and quite small) rewards??? Seriously do you people drink an elixer of luck or something?

I got a Brassy on my second barrows trip.

I think I speak for everyone when I say you need a nice 70 run dry streak compensation :roll: .

ive only gottent the karmil but the vampire almost killed me 3 times. finally i found a way t sidestep him. also noteworthy against him i used full rune and iban blast which still hits 25s.
