A New Kind of Pure

Featured Replies

A thought has just crossed my mind: a pure meant for the full verac's set. I'm talking 70 attack, 99 strength, 99 defence. Now this wouldn't be that useful for anywhere outside the fight pits. Personally, I love the fight pits. I love the whole winner-takes-all free-for-all pvp thing to it, and veracs owns all in there. Great defence, high crush attack and a massive prayer bonus. Think about it... the whole set has an effect to randomly ignore all and any armor. This makes attack almost useless with this set. With 99 strength, you would have the oppurtunity to hit mid-high twenties. With 99 defence and the defensive bonuses, you would nearly untouchable. Combine it all and you have one mean opponent.

With the handy tip.it combat calculator I found that 70/99/99 and 95 hp would get 103 combat. With 43 prayer you would have 108 combat. Most high levels 110+ get piled by everyone and have no chance of winning. With this pure, you would keep a somewhat low combat level (considering the stats you have) to help avoid being target #1. What if you do get piled? Flip on steel skin and protect from melee. This should hold them off for a bit.

Thoughts? Opinions?

EDIT: I am too poor to afford full veracs, so keep that in mind. I really don't know what I'm talking about. I've just read about the set effect and seen level 80's dominate 100's in the fight pits with veracs.

yeah i guess so, but wouldn't it make the pures kinda harder to train but then again i have a sucky pure so if someone has the time to give it a shot, do so and let me know :)

You're tlaking Barrows pures: they already exist FYI.

Your new kind of pure wouldn't be so useful in the pits.

It would get owned by a mage.

It would need great range as well, so when it slips on hides it wouldn't become useless.

He just successfully trolled you with "courtesy" and managed to get a reaction out of you. Lol

That could do very well in the dueling arena I think. If not for fight pits (would do great there also...)

Oh yeah... mages... I suppose 70 ranged would do it... Karils has insane magic defence. 70 ranged wouldn't change the combat either. For additional protection maybe 99 mage, too. And if you think about it the mages usually get piled first, no matter what their level is, so there would be other people against the mage. You may just do ok with high mage and protect from magic.

Ooo, and btw hazard, I tlak of a lot of stuff. :P

To do with the mages, everyone just piles them anyway. A good ancient would get 3-4 people if (s)he's lucky. Just wait until their inevitable deah and you'll be right.

On topic : Nice idea. =)

Cool.

I would go with 70 att, 99 str, and 70 def. That way you could kill some 1 fast, and keep your cb lvl down. I would also go with 70 range cus you wouldnt lvl much in cb and you could wear d hide or karils

veracs is based on luck...

and yes i see many people use it in fightpits, but usually they end up on the outside before the game is over...

No, Dharocks is based on luck. People who die before the game is over don't die because they're in veracs. They die because their combat is too high, low, or they were piled. If he teams up with another 2 or 3 people, he'll be right.

Cool.

hmm, might even be good at duel arena if you kept the prayer at 1

To clear everything up, the typical barrows-veracs-staker-pure is 70 Attack, 70 Defence, and 50 Strength or so. Low combat with veracs is essentially a lock.

Doesn't Verac only hit through prayer?

Doesn't Verac only hit through prayer?
na, its pretty much something like you have a 50/50 chance to always hit, or something :P

The set effect has a chance to ignore all armor and prayer.

And getting a little more off topic... I actually made a topic where there wasn't a lot of flaming. The last big one I made was explaining why you can't get banned if you stole arrows, and this was back when I stole them. I've matured a lot since then, so don't get any ideas. :P
