well...

 

 

 

1. we would be going as fast as earth...BUT WAIT

 

2. Solar system revolves so as fast as that...BUT WAIT

 

3. Universe is expanding so as fast as that...BUT WAIT

 

4. Some people believe in the multiverse theory and we could be revolving around something else...(no but waits...)

The Earth rotates once in a few minutes under a day (23 hours 56 minutes 04. 09053 seconds). This is called the sidereal period (which means the period relative to stars). The sidereal period is not exactly equal to a day because by the time the Earth has rotated once, it has also moved a little in its orbit around the Sun, so it has to keep rotating for about another 4 minutes before the Sun seems to be back in the same place in the sky that it was in exactly a day before.

 

 

 

 

 

An object on the Earth's equator will travel once around the Earth's circumference (40,075.036 kilometers) each sidereal day. So if you divide that distance by the time taken, you will get the speed. An object at one of the poles has hardly any speed due to the Earth's rotation. (A spot on a rod one centimeter in circumference for example, stuck vertically in the ice exactly at a pole would have a speed of one centimeter per day!). The speed due to rotation at any other point on the Earth can be calculated by multiplying the speed at the equator by the cosine of the latitude of the point. (If you are not familiar with cosines, I wouldn't worry about that now, but if you can find a pocket calculator which has a cosine button you might like to try taking the cosine of your own latitude and multiplying that by the rotation speed at the equator to get your own current speed due to rotation!).

 

 

 

 

 

Anyway...to answer your question, the average movement of any object on Earth is at 107226.435986159169 kilometres per day.

As the earth rotates, it takes the same amount of time for something NEAR one of the poles than to make one revalution that it takes for something on the equater to go around.

 

 

 

However, since the point at the pole has less distance to travel, it takes a shorter amount of time.

 

 

 

Since we all have different lattitudes, we are going different speeds.

but its already been said that asking how fast you are going is not a good question, because it could be an infinite amount of answers acording to what you are relative to. the correct answer was "relative to what?" which has been said already.

If you're talking about the Earth rotating around the Sun; that's not at all the largest movement we make.

 

We slowly get dragged towards a gigantic black hole (hey, I just saw Muse live, perhaps that's why I come to think of it) in the middle of the Milky Way. And as you mentioned, the universe is also expanding at an unknown speed.

when you are at rest, and still traveling through time, you dont talk in terms of speed. you talk in terms of minutes, hours, days ect. if he was talking just about space, and not about time, you dont talk in terms of speed either. you talk in terms of measurments such as meter, inches, yard. he was looking for speed, which deals with both space and time.

 

 

 

i dont know why i decided to explain that, since you argument followed the ad hominem debate fallacy by saying i have a "pee brain" (lol, you said pee brain, not pea brain :lol: ) and therefore your argument is automatically invalid (besides for the fact it doesnt make sense).
