Heard it happen to many peeps, although it's first time for me to hear that someone dropped mystic tops around instead of trying to trade them to you. No one have ever tried this trick with me, but on other hand I usually just ignore random people who's trying to interact with me when I'm banking at edge or something similar.. And I'm too lazy to mess with them anyway. :roll:

Not funny, this is a common scam which is one of the lowest scams there is.

that's actually a good scam to think up of :twisted: not that i support it though, that stinks.. looks like another form of luring has formed, unless it's been done for awhile i''ve never heard of it :shock:

Next time anyone EVER asks you to EVER go into wildy with a whip just ignore them cause when ever im in edgevile i get someone pming me to "help them" with something another popular ones with noted d longs so next time dont go with ur whip

the same thing happen to me, i just took my whip to wildy and this mage comes up and tb me and weakens me and drops 3 noted mystic tops and stupid me picks them up and he kills me and i lose my whip :wall:

sorry, but I can';t give any sympathy on this one..if someone asks you to come into the wildy weilding your whip (reguardless of if you have anything else or not) and your low on hp, what do you think is going to happen? doesn't that sort of make it seem abvious that he is going to scam you? they're really wasn't much of a reason to fall for that one #-o

next time someone asks you to do this, bring alch runes, and play dumb. when you pick up the noted tops, alch one, and youll have 3 tops, and 1 whip. drop the coins. protect the 3 tops, and 1 whip, and presto. free three mystic tops :lol:

Thats just a jerk thing to say. I pk with friend all the time, i tell them to come with me. She just fell for a horrible trick. i almost lost 10mil+ from a lurer.

It really isn't a scam lol its a trick.

If i was ever a member I would LOVE for someone to pull this kind of thing on me, because it is such a risky one to do it the person who is getting scammed has seen this or is a quick thinker. Free stuff woooo.

 

 

 

My friend hit over 80 people with this... I felt uncomfortable with it at first, but the more I thought about it...

 

 

 

People who fall for this scam are either ignorant of the way the game works, or 9 parts greed, 1 part brain. Of the 86 people he hit in ONE MONTH, at least a score of them were people like you, who figured... "Oh... he'll leave me at 1 hitpoint. I'll eat and grab them!"

 

 

 

I honestly think that this is really the fault of the ignorant/foolish people who get scammed. I'd have a hard time convincing myself to do it... as I tend to follow rules, but I can see how my friend justifies doing it, and I don't really blame him as IMO he's making the Runescape world a better place.

Pking with "friends" has nothing to do with it. She said a complete stranger told her to do this, would you do this with a complete stranger?

If Someone Private Messages and you realize it is the whip-mystic top scam, add them to ignore right away do not play along...you may think that you can protect your whip and take the 3 mystic tops...BUT would if there was 4 mystic tops????

Ever hear how your first impression of things is normally the right one? Your friend sounds like a scumbag, as are most scammers. I do agree its greed but that doesn't change the fact. Oh and those your friends with often reflect who you are.

What the hell..so mystic tops are more vaulable than whips?

ahh similar thing happened to me at greens, a random lvl 88 attacked me with nothing on, dropped 4 mystic tops, i though to myself 'looks suspicious' 5 seconds later im being hit by ice barrage :wall:

I know of a few people that have fallen for that scam. According to a couple pmod friends there is nothing much Jagex can do about that, as it is your own fault.
