If you had J-Mod powers, would you use them?

i think the fun would never end because if, like you, you like goals you could set yourself all the way to level 1 and work back up. it would also be good if say you wanted to do a goal but you were only lvl 50 in that skill and needed 55 for some decent things you could go up those 5 and then do the goal as normal from then on.

i would only use them for 1 thing: con

the prices of gold leafs magic stones and marble are totaly way out there. i'd get free of those and give them around.

also it would be fun to see the lowest level possible to do dt and fight caves. but drop the cape after.

also keep it apart from my main.

I'd get 99 in certain levels :) and leave some normal it be kool having fun with players and making my charecter more then a 126 lol or 1 and just walking around cw would be fun but j mods can't play it :'(

Wrong! Jmods can play minigames including castle wars, about 1 year back there were 2-3 jmods just playing.

I've seen a picture sumwhere of a jmod playing pest control.

then produce 500 million rune plates in my bank...

and millions of blue phats...

Yea, and thatd make Blue phats worth about 5gp each

Likewise with the rune plates. There arnt 500million players lol.

Yes...i know you were just exaggerating, and no, i like rs because my skills are rubbish and i can spend time improving them along with everyone else making friends along the way.

Yes, of course the numbers were exaggerated, but you can see that many people would enjoy the few days novelty of having a blue phat and other expensive items, as well as being level 126.

However, even though you state your skills are rubbish (1208 or something total? I beat that by 300)...

I WAS THERE ONCE TOO!!!

In fact, it was not too long ago that I first got members and 1000 skill total. The magic of this game is that you only have to compare yourself to others if you want to. You set your own goals, you reach them. You work at your own pace, and only if you are very serious do you really get a move on to get a certain level or item...

So while it may seem like I was flaming you for your skill total up there  sorry about that, it was to prove a point.

What is the point of this game if you can't appreciate the hard work put into it? What is the point of an item if you haven't spent hours getting gold so you could purchase it?

Remember getting those major items in your RS career, and wanting to try them out right away?

I remember my first full saradomin armour in f2p, my first whip, my first santa hat, my first green halloween mask, and my first dragon chain.

All of those were things I earned myself, through hours of woodcutting, slaying, farming, fishing, mining, fletching, alching, crafting, potion-making, material picking, merchanting and barrows-ing...

Without that leadup to the purchase of that particular item, which filled me with unheard of glee, I would not have appreciated at all what I have.

I started using cheatcodes once at the very beginning of Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. As such, I ended up with all of the best items in the game at a very low level. It was no longer fun and I haven't played since...

It has now been 18 months or so since I've played Baldur's Gate...

Hmm... about the same time I've been playing RS :D

Rofl, yo're rambling, and yes, i see the novelty of the one Phat etc...

ive only been a member about a month and a bit, (right when con was introduced) so im pretty pleased with the way ive trained, 15 cb lvls in 2 months and like 500+total lvls in the same time

I agree very much with Onanica.

But when I would have the power, I'd do 3 things:

-have unlimited bankspace

-give me on option to ban directly auto'ers

-delete my power-options, but keep those 2 things

i wouldnt do anything....itd ruin the gaming experience. ITs like having cheat codes ina video game, which is wrong.

I agree games get old more quickly when you're omnipotent.

I tend to disagree that cheats always make a game boring faster. I got the cheats and walkthroughs for Planescape: Torment (old old game, yes, I know) because then it was easier to uncover all the storyline possibilities. The game plays more like a story than other RPGs.

If you're playing a FPS, MMORPG, or another game (be it console or PC) where things tend to repeat themselves, then yeah, cheats get old fast and I think they are completely unethical for online games, especially as scripts are used for gold farming. Even if 'bots' are allowed (as they were in an old MUD I played), they drain the game of a community experience.

Back on-topic: J-mod powers are there for testing. I was told that this was a large part of the reason why J-mod PCs had PK ability removed.

yeah in the MMORPGs you are right that cheats would make it boring. My point is that if you buy a game thats like lets say $40. It lasts you 3 weeks because you buzzed by it with cheats. Or would you rather have a challenge and finish it in two months. Although some games are impossibly hard and they tend to get annoying after a while, I still feel that I didnt beat the game and that I cheated.

Personally i would rather earn my way to high stats and items, as if you had the ability to change stats the game gets boring and will no longer be a challenge.

It took me all day to think of this sig !!

I would use them. I would never get bored. I still got quests to do to keep me busy :)

I wouldn't give me 99 slayer. Its so fun.

wouldnt b that fun if u had cheated to 126 combat would it?

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.

I wouldn't do that... but if I could, I would ban people. :P If you said any rude comments, shut the gate on me at the blue dragon on the heroes guild, stole arrows, abyss pked, called someone a: defence noob, prayer noob, food noob, ripped someone off by selling a new item they didn't know about, and many many more things I frown upon. *Sigh* That would be great.

+1.

Exept for all that stuff Moopy said, I'd give myself 100 phat sets, and 99 mining/smithing on a level 3 and make it a pure. (Cannon/Maging with ancients for levels rofl)

I would rename my character to "Jesus" and start walking on water telling them "I am your Savior!". I would wear monk robes and teleport people to a grassy plain and break bread and give them "Blood of the Crist". But that is just meh :XD:

Training my pure!
