Actually, it happens a lot. I waited untill I was 18, and in about 2 months, I'm giving her the ring. I can also name about 10 guys off the top of my head that have saved themself as well. It's not as common as a girl doing it because guys are raised in a way that sex is a trophy, and very little more than that.

I can also name quite a few guys, including myself, who are saving themselves for marriage. I had a serious relationship that lasted for 15 months, and we never went beyond a short kiss on the lips. So yes, it is possible to have a loving, serious relationship without sex. :)

your statement is an extremist one, at best. you cant force people Not to have sex or have an abortion. for one, it violates our rights as people, in general, to be able to govern ourself. yes there is an age at which girls minds are still very impressionable and they are mature enough to be sexually active. this doesnt mean let them do whatever they want and then make then crap out the result later. the world just doesnt work like that. besides that, it violates any (debatable) right the fetus has/had, as well as put much much more trauma on a growing teen.

I live in the Bay Area in California, and as many know the Bay Area and down is flooded by illegal Mexicans. Now, I leave for work at 6:00AM almost everyday so I don't see them on my way there nor on my way home. But I do know some people twelve-sixteen who have children or are pregnant. This, my friend, is first hand experience. You see them, I acknowledge them. And the case of underage pregnancy isn't nearly as high as you'd imagine. You speak as if they are flooding country; they aren't.

Look, if you want your child to abstain from sex, just telling them that it's bad and that they're risking their immortal souls by doing it before marriage is not the way to go about it. When you're 17, your immortal soul is the last thing on your mind when you're in the back of a drive-in cinema with your date. What you as a parent should do is to be as open about it as possible, right down to the grisly details.

 

 

 

Furthermore, make a point of it to always slip a condom into your child's pocket before they go out, preferably in front of their friends and/or date, depending on the situation. For added effect, give them a typical parentling line about it, like "don't forget to wear the love-glove". Then, when the urge does arise, your face will be the first thing your child remembers as he or she reaches for the condom. I don't know about you, but no amount of testosterone would allow me to do the deed with my mum's face in the back of my head. Nine out of ten times they will cool down just from the thought of their parents, and the tenth time that it doesn't work, they'll at least be practicing safe sex :D

That's actually *not* a bad idea...Making contraception available only to those 18 and above. If I know one thing, it's that people have sex because they do not fear getting pregnant because they're using condoms...But once they do, they're like "What the hell?".
