RS3- my idea

Bloodveld

Recommended Posts

Ok first off i dont really support, cause it would cost *TON* to do any skillz
Really? How? If no one has cash, how can people charge tons for items? Someone can spam "SELLING 1K HIDES 5000K" for hours at end, but if no one has 5000k, or even 5k, how is he going to sell?
If all the gp in runescape disappeared overnight, it wouldnt change the value of whatever armor i have in my bank. I just wouldn't be able to get anywhere near as much money for it, because gp is rarer and now worth more. Only difference is, the armor would be worth more too, because it also disappears from everyone's bank. And then nobody could get it anyway, so it would be even more expensive. And here's the best part: the economy gets to multiply every few days, because all the players started with nothing. It won't get rid of inflation, just make it worse.
#-o You miss the whole point. People WILL sell items, they will want the cash. There is NO WAY that people won't lower the price of items so other people will buy them. If you can't understand this, then ask someone else, preferably some famous merchant.
I never said people wouldn't sell their items. But they are also going to price gouge and get as much money as they can, which is going to be a higher price because there will be fewer of the items too. Remember the first day when there were [insert item here]? They were way overpriced because there weren't many of them, and the rich players were willing to fork over to be the first to have it. Same thing would happen here, only with every item instead of the newly released ones. I'll admit that i'm not the sharpest chair on the table, so if I see any famous merchants I'll ask them about it.

You know how dumb that sounds? ok, well, might as well as just get rid of high alch, cuz if your only going to get 1-2 gp, no point in using it. Gp is also gained from selling to shops and monster drops...in fact...back in the day i got my first 250k selling steel plates to shops...

Barrows cost are not only for a money sink, but also because the armour is so strong, it needs something to offset its power.

also, just because the price of everything is lower, doesnt mean the economy will be better. IMO the economy is fine...

you understand that if all the money disappears, everyone will quit...all the rich ppl will have just been [cabbage] on.

now money will be rare, which will involve everything being very very cheap...and store values of things will mean much much more.

and all the money would pump back into the economy, because all the smithers will just make rune armour, and sell it to stores, because it would actually be worth the store money..

this idea has no backbone, and really is just [developmentally delayed]ed.

and no rares i hope
No rares as there would be no pre-existing items. EDIT: I mean no items that were on our rs2 accounts would be carried over.

Off topic: is it just me or are these forums moving fairly slow today?

If accounts aren't carried over.... about 90% of the players will quit. The only thing I liked in that list was no Barrow's repairs but cost the price of Barrows would rise.

If account's aren't carried over and rares aren't, everybody who bought a rare will quit because they'd be out millions.

barrows armor would use the same rs2 prices because of the different way to get money it would form its own new price that would find in with the new economy. And if rs3 was created like this rares wouldnt matter because it would be a brand new game. And if you play just for rares well your missing out.

On RS3, think of this:

  • [*:2rfux395]Low and high alch both still work, but only give you 1 or 2gp per alch depending on the spell (to prevent rampant inflation)

[*:2rfux395]barrows is without the repare costs

[*:2rfux395]turning logs into planks is completely free

    [*:2rfux395]no inflation AT ALL

    [*:2rfux395]smithing is actually useful

[*:2rfux395]a completely fresh start, where money is hard to get- for everyone

[*:2rfux395]and much, much more. (I'll update this list with the best ideas)

Of course, rs3 would be completely optional and people could still play rs2.

Alchemy is my friend...but I'm sure I could live without it. Barrows without repairs...not that I've gone to the Barrows yet...but I would probably be happier if I should ever go if the stuff didn't need fixin'.

I would love the plank idea. Not really sure what you mean about no inflation...like...every item has a specific price it must be sold at or else?

Smithing already is kinda useful...just boring to train. I'd like an improvement.

A new fresh start would be nice. The thing about money being harder to get though...what do you mean? Monsters drop less? Stuff sells for less? Stuff costs more so that 10000gp just isn't what it used to be?

As long as this RS3 is optional, like on completely different servers, there may be people who will play it.

XXXX says I'm a noob. And then keeled me with his troop of lvl 100 CW buddies.

Yay for being a Dead Noob. XD

Thanks for the support everyone! And tefda, I know it would never happen, but I would LOVE if it did. And it's not my dream world, I said nothing about invincible bloodvelds ;)

 Maybe there shouldn't be any gp in rs3 and you'd have to raise ur skills if you wanted to get ANYTHING. That's just a thought tho. :-w
I thought of this, but I think cash would be a better idea, not quite sure why though.

what the duce....i dont agree with this whole thing.....dunno.....it ..........

Fresh start all good and so, but they'll need quite loads more space and servers, which would be a big financial risk if the money inflow wouldn't be good (by member subscriptions).

The only thing I demand from RS 3, if it will ever exist is this:

Sea wars, being able to man a ship with fellow compagnions and go out to sea to fish and have war.

Problem is, the sea would have to be quite big to have it interesting and big enough to support loads of ships.

Besides that, I don't really agree with a new RS and even if it'll take long.

I don't understand, the game is balanced now:

a lot of money comes in via alching

a lot of money goes out via POH and barrows

mygod, that was the dumbest suggestion ive ever read on tipit, and what exactly is the point of making it rs3? should we make a new rs everytime a stupid update like this is released?
Looks like it took a whole two pages before someone was too stupid to read the first post. Good job.

I also said "no flaming", so learn to read.

To Bloodveld: Whats the point of forums with no flame?

To Malo: +1

3rd stupidest idea ever.

Those just seem like a few large updates. No need to make a new game.

don't think that would work - there would be no point alching at all

[*:2yj1k71n]barrows is without the repare costs
agree with that

[*:2yj1k71n]turning logs into planks is completely free
might work, but would turn construction into a cheaper skill - i think jagex made it for the richer players

[*:2yj1k71n]no inflation AT ALL
how would that be possible?

[*:2yj1k71n]smithing is actually useful
how would they make smithing useful??

[*:2yj1k71n]a completely fresh start, where money is hard to get- for everyone
that would cause DEflation

[*:2yj1k71n]and much, much more. (I'll update this list with the best ideas)

Also, it would be nice for a bigger game screen. :anxious:

That would be great.

Overall i think there would be no need to make a whole new game - just update rs2 alot

bloodveld has a point about high-alch..unlike the person who wants alch-x less high alch prices would slow down magic xp and people woudl resort to other ideas and make training magic harder (or more expensive)
