This has not been confirmed by a Jagex Moderator yet some say that Jagex Mod Andrew has one of his own. This too, has not been confirmed, but it is said that the Black Party Hat was changed to another colour because it was "not festive enough" so they changed it into a purple party hat. direct from http://www.wikipedia.com i heard this on rune hq. search runescape go to holiday items pres ctrl and q t search black phat and it will show u ive quit because of the dumb side of the RS community, not because i play too much (like 1 hour a day) dont get lured! However I doubt that any regular player owns one, and I cant say I believe black phats were ever available for regular players. I hoped you enjoyed my post. I was there on christmas and popped thousands of crackers. never getting a black p hat. although it is possible for andrew paul or constant to own one, they sure as hell aint gonna give one to us because they dont give a damn about the players anymore. and besides they would much rather just pi** people off by showing it to people. ive seen so many of these threads in a life time and im not even remotely interested in saying that it does or doesnt exist. its been around for ages. people just havent figures it out yet. Back in RuneScape Classic the party hat which we now call "the purple party hat" was called "the pink party hat" (it also was.. well.. pink instead of purple :? ). When RuneScape 2 came out, the pink party hat changed to the purple party hat. That has been the only change in party hats ever since their release. There has only been and will always be only 6 different colors in which case black is not included. End of story. EDIT: Those of you saying that Andrew, Paul, and Jagex mods may have them... well in all these years there has never been one spotted nor has one ever been confirmed by any of the Jagex staff. So that TOO puts to rest all the rumors. I can clarify the myth around the black party hat. In the glory days of Runescape, Tks and I used to trade for Bluerose13x. Whenever she was able to make a new rune item, we'd come up with a price, and Tks and I would carry out a majority of the trades. Oh how I enjoyed being in a threesome with those two .... Shocked "ahem" So anyway, not only did we trade as a team, but we also worked to catch cheaters as a team. As a team, we had successfully managed to get quite a lot of known and self-admitted cheaters banned, as we had high level contacts. We were so proud of our combined achievements that we though it would be a great idea if Paul gave us each a black party hat, so that we could be identified where-ever we went. For a laugh, we then spent the next few days repeatedly mentioning it to Paul, trying to get on his nerves so much that he would instantly concede and give us that which was owed us (wasn't really owed us but sounds so cool when you put it that way). The best we could get out of him was "well.. we'll see". Of course, we knew that was a dead-end right there, but somehow somebody caught wind of our ploy to bug Paul about black party hats, and it has been an ongoing rumour since. I like any excuse to tell that story. Heck, I like any excuse to tell ANY story I have from back then, because it was such a blast at times. But I swear that is the Gods-honest truth as far as where the story of black party hats originated. They don't exist, but the premise of them stems from way back. And the final word we ever had from an official source with regards to black party hats was "we might release them one day as a special surprise". Lol I think everyone wishes they had a black phat, I certainly would! :wink: And yeah, I've also heard about this black phat rumour to. I remember someone asying that there were 2 in the entire game, of course don't take what I said literarly. No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug. It's just some of the JAGex staff that can and have the black party hat, beacuse they have or can create it, beacuse they have self created the game.
