I might be completely crazy but...

...Ever since that one quest with the fairy rings came out, I think the abbies in the slayer tower stopped dropping whips.

I know it's not true, and I want to believe it's not true, but I can't find anyone who's gotten whip from the abbies in the slayer tower the past two weeks; Not me, not my friends and not random people who happen to show up (Which, mind you, seems to be *VERY* few as of late).

When I think about it, though, it doesn't sound that crazy as we're talking about Jagex... Anywho, someone make me feel better by debunking my ridiculous notion.

*cough*price manipulation*cough*

hehe, I wouldn't know if it's true, but why would Jagex change that? Maybe they really are trying to drain a bunch of the money in RS..?

No, it's not price manipulation at all.

I just think that the abbies in the slayer tower stopped dropping them and only the ones in the fairy ring do. Like I said, it might sound ridiculous, but I'm fairly sure of it.

And I'm not crazy.

they are trying to get rid of the money in RS, first they made construction that costs tons to lvl up and now the new crossbows onyx bolts cost a fortune! but thats just my opinion...which you never asked for...

Bringing in new items drains money by spreading it to new players.

If you get a barrows drop, that's money to you drained from the buyer. The only way to drain money is to put in things like construction, barrows gloves, and reapiring items, such as barrows or crystal equipment.

That's currently the only way money is drained from the economy.

And the people continue to alch.

Money's drained from the economy in so many ways. Barrows repairs, in-game stores, Crystal bow/shield recharges, etc.. In fact, the way you mentioned isn't actually draining money from the economy at all, because spreading the money to new players is still keeping it in the economy.

When I suggested this might be JaGeX trying to drain money I was wrong, because it doesn't effect how much money is actually in the economy.

sig3gk6.png

Gp is ONLY drained when it disappears. D bones ectoed/altared, logs burnt, etc. do NOT drain ANY gp from the economy. With the huge xp and cash from alching it is nearly impossible to keep the gp down. They should stop adding little things that spawn useless gp; like, I don't know, the SECURITY CAVE UPDATE! At 10k a pop per person INCLUDING F2P that has got to be LOADS of gp spawned for absolutely NO reason. All future rewards should be in the form of items NOT gp. I doubt many people barrow for the gp from the chest, I doubt many people (especially f2p) did the security update exclusively for the 10k, I doubt many people pc for the gp, along with a TON of other useless gp spawns. The GP itself isn't a goal and just a negative side-effect, economy-wise. Item rewards would prevent gp being spawned in a HUGE way. That and lowering the xp and/or gp rewards from alching would start reversing inflation.

And so begins the utter destruction of a thread about Abby's, to dawn the birth of yet another discussion involving the idiots who don't understand inflation, and the regular people trying to explain it but never getting it through their thick skulls.

This thread is going to repeat itself a couple dozen times, should be funny  .

Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

Lol you have to remember that a "new" discussion is based on personal experience. This may be old to MOST people but a new concept to some. Circular discussions FTW!

I just find it impossible that Jagex would stop whip drops from their original source. Doesn't make a lick of sense but it isn't like I can check it for myself. They may have just lowered the drop rate combined with a group of people on a run of bad luck. Just one whip drop disproves this idea and it has already been mentioned above that they still drop them. The topic is now pointless but lets watch the inflation flames. \'

The answer is simple

As the number of lvl 85+ slayers increasing Jagex simply try to hold the whip price in reasonable levels to keep the lvl 85 slayer goal still attractive.

on the other hand , this is pure speculation and its probably just ur sheeti luck

:D

Dont worry... i got 4 whips this week up thier so i know this is debunked.

Death and dropping need to go on that list. If items don't get picked up, they get destroyed.

Thats not draining money, It's transfering it between people. The same amount of money stays withing the economy as a whole. Buying things from shops, and spending money on NPC's is the only way money actualy leaves the game. It's the only way they can "delete" that money from the economy.

No...because the net money is still in the economy. Only if you died and dropped money would it leave the ecnomy because it would be destoryed. Droping items, not gp, would have no effect on the total money in the economy, unless you had to go buy them off an NPC when you lost them - this way money leaves the economy.
