More F2P Bank Space! [BANKSPACE ACHIEVED!]

Featured Replies

I'm a former member so now I have absolutely NO bank space. I need to have at least 2 of everything...I feel like noah...

Well you should've thought about the consequences of quitting members before joining it. Don't complain, cause you really dug your own hole there, just like me.

Which is exactly why adding more f2p bank space will only help the game as a whole. Some members act like they wont benefit. But in truth, everyone will benefit.

There's really no logical reason to be against this idea.

Usually this won't really affect members, because we should have 2 of every item we're going to use on f2p server so yeah...

Hey, just add space in bank for members too...

Then Both F2P and P2P win. :D

Hmm, put it into skills then. Let us all know if you can get it down to 60 spaces without dropping holiday items or quest ending items or full rune/full dragon or ranger dragonhides/arrows or your mage staffs/clothes/runes, axe, tinderbox, fishing equips, pickaxe, etc. ... Okay? Make both living proof and point of yourself, and please help us nail all those members who want to be rude and nasty to an idea like this. :)

(I know there's even more critical items, but my brain can't hold everything... :( ...)

I have way to less room, and i don't want to throw all my scarfs away..

With all the trimmed armor and the stuff you just need.. there isn't enough room.

i love your idea.

however, i am almost 100% certain jagex will not make any move to update the free world in such a radical way,

i know from experience how hard the bank is, but if jagex satisfies all f2p demands, there would be no incentive to subscribe.

therefore, although a worty cause, jagex will probably delete any petition you show them like they do thousands of f2p suggestions everyday

Impossible. I have items from over 20 quests so that's only 40 spaces left right there. Then there is also items for skills, member potions, and other stuff so ya.

I thank everyone for your support. MAny of you have said that Jagex will never do this because we are f2p. I beg to differ. If we can keep this thread alive, and get more and more supporters everyday, we will get Jagex's attention. It might not be today, tommarow, or even a month from now. But I can garuntee you that Jagex will recognize the need for more bank space. We need more space now more than ever with the new Halloween update coming up, and even the new capes for getting skills to 99. If we can get our number of supporters to 300, I will renew my bombardment on Jagex to get their attention. I hope that you will all join me in this chaotic crusade. More bank space for all is a must.

I agree with all of you totaly Free to Play people should have the privilage of at least 5 extra bank spaces or to the end of the last row we currently have, how are we supposed to fit all the ore, rare items, hoilday stuff and much more! I think we should all send in comment about this and we just might get some more bank space. We only get about 1/7 of what members get so how can it hurt. Jagex should do something about it!

Don't take me wrong now, I supported this thread and posted some time ago (around page 10).

Anyways, I want to correct something about the ads math quoted on the first post. You made it like if it was everyone clicked the ads ONCE per day, wich I doubt. Now tell me, what percentage of runescape players CLICKS the ads at least once per time they play? Hmm, let's see... Not much I'd say... Maximum 40%! Now don't come in saying "I do click it!" because you're only one of the people in the small percentage that does it... That'd lower their ad-money a LOT. And this Percentage is probably much lower! like 20% or perhaps even less.

Second, 9000000 free players? Hmm, how many that play? Lets say 50% play (I'd say MUCH less, but okay, easier math :P ) that's 4500000... And 4500000 that DONT play. Now, per player, there is a huge MEMORY being wasted on the server. Bank, inventory, skills, name, preferences, music unlocked, etc. Let's say this is 1MB per player (It'll probably be MUCH more... Even more for members)... So... it'd be 4500000MB... 4500GB... 4.5TB That are BEING WASTED. With players coming in every time... They need to keep adding resources and stuff, so it also costs a lot.

Third, let's say you add 10 bank space (let's say 1KB per row... even tough it probably is wrong). 10KB times 9000000 = 90000000 KB more! That means 90000Mb, 90GB... Just for 10 bank space? Ooops! Hard drive upgrade needed!

Finally, I'd say that the ads don't pay as much as they'd like them to.

I'm not saying you don't diserve this... I actually agree with the idea.

But this is just a deeper explanation why even us members don't get more bankspace.

Now, I will PROBABLY have done mistakes with the percentages I said (percentages that click ads for example, it'll probably be much lower)

Any corrections and critiscism appreciated, as long as it's not flaming.

I assume you didn't read the whole thing.

Yes there are 9 million f2p players. After taking off an approximate amount of players not playing and people not clicks ads(but including those who click more than one ad as more than one person), I came up with a result of about 2 million currently clicking and playing. Yes it's probably not right but close enough.

Anyways the 90GB space you're talking about. Pft it's cheap as hell. Go down to your computer store and it only costs $100 bucks. Wow should we really sacrifice $100 bucks, out of the 6 million made from ads, to give f2p an extra 12 spaces. Hmm, nah we rather not.

Thank's again to everyone for their support. All have been added.

Art_Crazy, even if your math was incorrect, we still provide enough money for Jagex to give us more bank space.

Why haven't we gotten more bank space in all this time? Well, there are a couple of reasons:

I. We're not members. We don't directly pay them for our updates. They get money from us from the adverts they make us sit through.

II. We didn't always have this many items. The number of items we have to store is gradually increasing each year from holiday events, random events, and other small updates such as the sceptre.

III. No one has actually stood up and pointed out the dire need for more bank space until now. We currently have about 260 suppoters, and the number is growing every day. 260 people cannot be ignored forever.

We need more bank space now. 12 spaces can go a long way, possibly even years. If they would give us 12 more spaces now, then they wouldn't have to give us any more bank space for a very long time. True, as more and more holiday items and random event items are given to players, we will need more bank space eventually. Perhaps Jagex will give us a better way to store those items sometime in the future. Until then, all we can do is ask for more bank space.

Please remember that it isn't just random event clothing and holiday items that we have to store. We have ores, bars, runes, logs, armour, weapons, arrows, bows, and so many other items we need for training our skills and pking. 60 spaces just isn't enough for all of those things. Jagex needs to recognize our need for more bank space before the need grows any further. The longer they wait, the more and more items we will need to store. The more and more items we need to store, the more bank space we will have to ask for. Jagex should give us those 12 extra slots before the need for bank space gets out of hand. The more they procrastinate, the more work it will be to give us more bank space in the future. Why don't they just give us more bank space now? It would be so much easier for them.

They say it costs money to give us more bank space. Well duh... We know that. Nothing ever comes freely. Now, let's compare the amount of memory needed for 12 more bankes, to the amount of memory needed for the holiday updates they do every year. The amount of memory needed for more bank space is extremely small compared to the other. It would be so easy for them, and so cheap to give us 12 more bank slots. They can't just leave us with 60 bank slots forever, and give us more and more items to store every year. They must be insane.

A possible solution to stop the need for more bank space building up over the years, is to give us 2 more bank slots each year. 2 more bank slots a year would be profficient. I'm sure someone will post saying "You shouldn't get more bank slots every year! You don't pay for it! We need more bank space too!". Yes, I know you need more bank space also. We all do. But think about it; Members get a bank space update every year, increasing the bank size by at least 5 or more spaces. They have to due to the constant amount of updates you recieve with new items. Well, members aren't the only ones that get updates each year, thus increasing the need for bank space.

I understand that Jagex is busy making those huge updates for members. But how hard would it be to add 12 more bank slots now, and then 2 more each year? It would take a couple of days with a small task force. That's nothing. I'm sure Jagex can spare a few people for a couple of days to give f2p more bank space. It would require almost no work at all.

So what's going on, Jagex? It would have been easy enough to do this before now. Why have you waited all this time, and let the need for bank space increase without the slightest hint of us actually getting it? It's like the pressure in a bottle rocket, ever increasing until the bottle shoots off. If Jagex keeps waiting, there will be hell to pay. More and more people are realizing the need for more bank space each day. Soon, Jagex will be flooded with letters and emails from Runescape players, questioning them about why F2P haven't gotten more bank space before now.

You don't believe me? It's already started with this very thread. I have opened your eyes to the need for bank space. You are blind to this fact no longer. More and more eyes are opening, and their numbers will increase the longer Jagex waits.

Jagex, stop waiting. F2P playes a huge role in your funding, and payment from future members. You don't give us more bank space as you continue to give us more and more items to store. Are you trying to shoot off that rocket? Don't tell us that we don't deserve more bank space. That's one of the biggest lies you could tell. Our role in your funding is larger than many people know. Once again, I tell you to stop waiting. The need for bank space has reached its maximum, yet you continue to pump more and more pressure into that bottle.

Stop waiting. The rocket is about to explode in your face.

Funny-sounding, but well said. Heck, I think it is potentially nearing the point that the F2P worlds could suddenly become devoid of people, as in Jagex destroying their own pump for money (Those of F2P who attract potential P2P...) into members.

Jagex, quit waiting. You could possibly send yourselves under in a tsunami of your own lies, denials, and bull-headed-ness (Sorry, couldn't find a better end phrase)... Don't hurt yourselves further, Jagex.

even tho i am an p2p i agree because f2p also need more space. For instance for the new Sceptre as you said or the continually adding holiday items.

I hate when I have to get rid of my treasure. It may not be what people call treasure, but i want to keep it. I hate having to do my "clean-up" where I get rid of as much of my unecessary and sometimes neccesary items by packing them in my bag and suiciding in the wilderness. And I agree with those new updates and holidays. F2pers thanks Jagex for the New "Stronghold of Security." It's probably one of the best updates I've ever seen for us over my years of playing. (Even though it probably isn't) but compared to members, it isn't much. Members, of course deserve their updates. They pay. They receive. I accept and understand that. But this fight isn't against the Members, it's against a power greater than any Jedi... Um.. I mean a force greater than any one of us... ok fine. You get the idea.

But we also must understand and accept that Jagex is a company. Membership and advertisements are how they get business of Money.

By updating member's um... stuff, and not updating Free players... stuff as much is a form of marketing

It is to attract more people to become members and to increase business.

Which is also, completely valid.

The fairness between Free players and members isn't not balanced. Which is again... acceptable. Because of the money... not all of us can afford to pay US$5 a month, or for me, AU$8.20... or have our own money to spend or parents willing to pay cash every month for us to play a game... Games are not bad. They are for our enjoyment. Playing too much, will lead to ignorance of what is really important. Such as studying to get a job, working for money, money to live on, to buy food, and survive. That is what is really important.

With this, it is hard for Jagex to gives us more bank space. They need to make money, so they attract people to subscribe to their game to get more of our cash. Also considering the work Jagex have to do, which they don't have to, but would certainly please hmmm... 80% of their players? Well, the majority would get pleased if they did. But they don't have to. It's a hard decision for them to make. Money or pleasing people who don't do anything for them (apart from reporting people)by updating a game...

What would you do? Gain more money? or devote yourself for a day or more to increasing bankspace for free...

How about both? Think about it.

yah Im with you 100%, it has been more than 12 times that I had to empty my bank, and for that instead of getting my usually 11k everyday, I'm now making parties for just getting 5k in a week!!! \' ::' , I know that members pay so for that the have a right of getting more space, but if it wasn't us than there wouldn't be any members!!! :notalk: , at least complete the last row and add an extra row would be a dream come true!!
